    We dined on Wednesday night and enjoyed the weekly roast offering. Fabulous food and the sides were delicious. I tried 2 cocktails and they were great. All in all a fun night out at a great little Stanthorpe venue.

    I’ve previously had the pleasure of being at Varias as a wedding celebrant, so it was lovely to return—this time simply to enjoy dinner. What a fantastic experience. The lamb was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth, the beef was cooked beautifully, and every dish was full of flavour. The ambience was warm, relaxed and the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the Granite Belt. What made the evening even more special was how welcoming and accommodating the team were with my dog. It’s always appreciated when a venue goes the extra mile to make every guest feel comfortable. Whether you’re celebrating a wedding, a special occasion or simply looking for a beautiful dinner in Stanthorpe, Varias is well worth a visit. Delicious food, wonderful service and a lovely atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back.

    Bookings essential during busy periods (such as school holidays). This is a great venue for a reliable meal, and the dinner menu structure (2 or 3 courses for a set price) certainly made things easy. There were a couple of slow points where I think the kitchen was struggling with the volume of orders but generally speaking it was a timely meal. Everything we had was delicious, with stand-out picks being the Arancini, the Chargrilled Ribeye, and the Doughnuts for dessert. A great selection of beers brewed in-house as well as some local picks. Service was lovely, especially for what was clearly a very busy night!

    We unfortunately had to arrive later due to a unforeseen problem, we were greeted very warmly and thanked for our travel out and choosing the Criterion Hotel by the head staff member, this made us feel very special and the staff were so accommodating in keeping the kitchen open for us to order lunch, with food on the table in no time and very generous helpings. We had a fantastic meal , great service and helpful advice to see sites in the town. Highly recommended.
