Burdell is hands down one of our favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. Every visit reminds us why we keep coming back. The food is soulful, thoughtful, and beautifully executed without ever feeling pretentious. You can taste the care and intention in every dish. This visit was no exception. The cornmeal-crusted cod was absolutely delicious with a perfectly crisp exterior and flaky, flavorful fish. As always, the cornbread was on point. It’s one of those dishes we look forward to every time we visit. And the boiled peanuts with the potlikker? So, so good. Simple, comforting, and packed with flavor. Beyond the food, the hospitality is warm, the atmosphere feels intimate and welcoming, and the entire experience strikes that rare balance of elevated dining and genuine comfort. Chef Geoff and the team have created something truly special. Burdell isn’t just a great meal. It’s a place we genuinely love and one we’ll keep recommending to friends and family.

I’m a big fan of the focus on sustainability. The vegetarian mezze plate was fantastic. Loved the deviled eggs with lox and street corn with Tajin.

I've been to Acre a number of times since it opened. It's always great. Excellent service, fun dishes. The aleppo butter with whatever the bread (sometimes biscuits, sometimes foccacia), which is always on the menu, is unparalled. Two of us had the swordfish - fabulous. One had the meatballs with the amatriciana marinara and said it was devine. Our fourth had the seafood risotto (Shrimp, Scallops) and loved it. Wine was excellent and poured generously. We had one senior in our group who came with a walker. All staff was gracious and helpful getting her to her seat and storing the walker out of the way. The service elevator was a big help getting her up the stairs. We will be back!!!

It was our first time at Julia's - we went for our 10th Anniversary. Everything about the experience was great. The building is lovely, of course, it was serene and quiet enough for intimate conversation, the food was fabulous and the service was excellent.
