Filet Mignon Chili
It was great to get out for a nice meal after the quarantine. The food, service & ambiance was wonderful. We’ll definitely be back soon. I had the grass fed fillet mignon which was excellent. My husband had the ribeye & our daughter had the California rolls. We were all very happy with the entire experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the Larsen’s staff.
The service was amazing! Everyone was tentative, they were on top of clearing the table off, and checking in regularly. Overall the food was amazing. We will definitely go back for the Lobster Crunch Roll. The butter cake given to us was so good, we made room despite being full! Overall our food was good, except for the Herb Crusted Roasted chicken. It tasted overly acidic despite the cream sauce, and my dining partner felt the same. We are still eager to return to try some other things on the menu.
Our waitress was great! The wine and beer were good. My friends hamburger was beyond delicious. The rolls were excellent. My husband and I shared the tri tip/rib BBQ platter. That being said the tri tip and ribs were very good and the mashed potatoes were delicious. BUT. Two small tri tip pieces and one rib a piece wasn’t worth the $30 we paid. Which is too bad considering it was very tasty!!
It was a lovely place to share a meal and enjoy each other’s company.
My Ribeye was very tough, I know it wasn't Prime grade. I buy Prime grade meat and when I grill it to 125 degrees it so good! I think I'll stick with Sutter's Mill.
Excellent service received by Jeff. Prime rib dip sandwiches are amazing. A bit costly, but delicious!
I would love to recommend Larsen's but we just came away as a group very disappointed. Our server was excellent and engaging but the food was just ok. For the amount of money we paid, we were expecting much more.
It took 40 minutes to get our food. Other than that, I have no complaints.
The filet and baked potato were just not very good. I ordered a filet medium rare and my steak was nearly well done, dry, and lacking flavor. The baked potato was about the same.
We had a lovely time. We like that we can go later, 8:30, and still be seated without attitude. We felt at home. Lovely ambiance for Valentine's weekend, too. Food was wonderful, as always; wine and dessert and sides, too. Thank you!
We dined at the Simi Valley Larsen's on the day after Valentine's Day - which Larsen's still treated as an extension of Valentine's Day. The food was very good. We ordered aged filet mignons dry and wet) with side orders of loaded baked potato and grilled asparagus, and a starter cobb salad. The ambiance was lovely with red rose petals strewn all over the tables, on the side wall separators, and even inside the menus. The food was a bit pricey with the steaks running up to $58 for a 6 oz. filet mignon with one side order, and everything else extra. Corking fee is $20. The only complaint we had was about the service. The server was pleasant, but not as attentive to his assigned tables as he should have been. After bringing the dinners to our table he was not to be seen. My "loaded" baked potato came plain and "unloaded," and by the time I noticed this there was no way to get hold of the server. We could see the server at the other end of the large dining room. After waiting for 15 minutes for the server to check up on our table we went up to the front desk to ask for our server. No response for another 15 minutes. My husband went over to the front desk and was a bit more assertive in his request. Finally, the server arrived, about half an hour after our initial request for his service. He apologized, and the problem was corrected within minutes. My guess is that the management had not taken into account the high demand (Saturday following Valentine's Day) and had not engaged sufficient server-time to ensure good service. But, other than the service issues, it was a good experience.
The drinks we had at the bar were great as was the service we received there. The service at the table was a different story... while the server was fine, she seemed rough and would probably be better suited at a n Applebees or breakfast joint. We barely got our steak orders out before she was asking about a 'steak topper' and rattling them off like toast choices. That was followed up with the 'would you like to start with a soup or salad speech while not even looking at us. The salads came out at record speed and we felt a bit rushed (were they trying to turn the table? There were at least 8 empty tables around us). My steak was quite underdone when it arrived, I ordered Medium rare, but this was just mush, the server did happily take the the steak back for a bit more time on the grill, but overall everything was just fine. Definitely nothing special or terrible, but I think we'll stick with Woodland Hills or Encino if we decide to try again.
It was great
Made a reservation, however they were running behind so we were seated 15 minutes late. Despite being extra busy, the service was great and food came out quickly. Very impressed with the food as well. Would dine there again when less busy.
Great food, great service, and overall a really great experience.
Always love coming here!
I used to love Larsen’s but after coming here for Valentine’s Day I won’t be back sadly. Food was subpar, I was stuck sitting in the aisle way, and the tables were way too close together.
Host told us one guy would be our server. He never came. Another server took care of us. Food took a ridiculous amount of time to come out. Server was great
Didn’t expect tiny tilting round tables. Extremely crowded and noisy. Not a quiet romantic atmosphere I was looking for on Valentines Day.
The kitchen must have been slammed, as my husband’s steak was bloody when he ordered medium. My Kurobuta chop was dry and rubberized. It was not marbled like it should be.
The service was outstanding even though the place was packed.
It is what it is, however, we’ll probably chose another restaurant for special occasions that can accommodate quaint, romantic or otherwise atmosphere.
Great food and service. Classy restaurant
Lauren our server was outstanding!
Beautiful restaurant. Great service (special thanks and appreciation for server Trevor!). Excellent wine list. Delicious filet mignon for each of us, cooked perfectly - liked the organic selection a little more than non-organic but both were great. $20 wine corkage fee reasonable. Nothing not to like! Tip: we purchased 20%-off discount cards at Costco. We have dinner there several times per year - love the place.
Not sure if it was an off night, but our food wasn’t great. Service was slow but our server was very sweet.
Everything came out luke warm. Sent it back but when it came out again, it wasn’t much better. At that point, we just ate it.
Never had a bad meal here yet and the service was excellent.
Lauren was fantastic and the food was amazing!
Anniversary and even though we noted that on our reservation nobody mentioned it or said Happy Anniversary.
meat quality very good
We had a party of 5 and reservation for 4:30pm. We were seated immediately and our serving person, Jeffrey was energetic and amiable. Each of us had a variety of food and I found the cedar planked salmon to be an excellent choice along with the creamed spinach. Overall this was an excellent experience and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend.
Very good food, very good service, very friendly staff but I found your prices to be on the high side.
Even higher was the noise level which I found to be uncomfortable and for this reason I doubt if I shall ever come back.
We went for our New Years Dinner with our teenagers. The food was amazing the service was awesome! We did spend $400 (with tip) for 4 meals so that’s a bit pricey but the food did taste amazing! The manager and server are always amazing there!!
I find the food and the service to be very good. I find the value to food ratio to be bit off.
We went for NYE. They were great about honoring reservations and found us a booth which we requested. They add tables for the holidays and it is almost uncomfortably crowded. Food and service was very good for such a busy night.
Food is great, service is good and the ambience was fantastic for a New Years Eve. Thank you, Larsen's!
Service was terrible, drinks were slow, food came out either undone or overdone. We had to ask many times for things. Server was not pleasant at all!
Our food was very good. Our waiter, Jesse, was excellent. He had a great personality and made our dining experience the best.
It was a Xmas gift for our grandkids
This restaurant is offers very good food, a classy (and clean) restaurant and great service. The manager even walks around checking and asking the diners how they like the food, is everything alright, etc.
Cleanliness is a big deal with me when I dine out. All too often nowadays, a lot of restaurants don’t care about the appearance of their dining area; all too often I would sot down to an half-clean table, or would see dirty napkins and food on the floors. This is particularly true of the fast food and causal dining restaurants I’ve gone to lately. This is why I appreciate how clean Larsen’s is.
The wait staff are attentive, friendly and efficient.
Being that this is Larsen’s, their menu prices are higher than I normally pay.
Big KUDOS for the classic rock music they had playing the night we dined there!!
All in all, a good dining experience and I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.
Thank you Lauren and staff for delivering an awesome experience! Our family had a great time and this visit is our second family
Christmas event! We will definitely be back next year!
Christmas Eve family dinner ...as always the food and service was amazing...but sadly since last year the cost has risen terribly so we probably won’t be going back next year ...😢
