We had birthday celebration reservation for Saturday, March 14th, we called ahead to ensure that they were open (as we were driving from an hour and a half away) they did not disclose that the patio was not available, nor that our reservation would be inside at a cocktail lounge table at the "President's lounge"...when questioned about why it wasn't outside, the server shared..."we felt that there was a possibilty that it would rain and we didn't want to set everything up and then have to take it all down"...unbelievable! In addition the menu has changed substantially (less dishes) it used to be such an "upscale" restaurant (we used to go quite frequently when we lived in Riverside) We looked forward to our luncheon as we got married at the Mission Inn 20 years ago! Then when we got ready to pay we decided to use our Open Table voucher (that we specifically redeemed points to use towards this specific reservation) we were told "that there wasn't any money on the voucher" (I later called the client service number on the voucher and was informed that the restaurant tried to charge the entire meal amount on the voucher and froze the certificate) what a shame that the restaurant didn't think highly enough to call the number themselves and try to resolve the issue...instead they shared "that they did not receive open table certificates very often and were not really sure why it wasn't working.....yet they partcipate in the "Open Table" program....does that make any sense? I was humilated and embarrassed (in front of our guests) that they couldn't resolve this issue. We were very disappointed on our entire experience ,at a time when we should have had a wonderful experience and memory from a place that we once viewed so highly. We will not every return to this restaurant!
Poor service poor food
They had the best carne asada and fish tacos. The outdoor dining was a concern for us being that it was a chilly night - but there were plenty of outdoor patio heaters that kept the cold away.
Everything was perfect and delicious as usual! Perfect date night
Food and drinks were good. A bit pricey yho for what you get. My only complaint this time is that I asked 3 times while at restaurant and wrote on open table at reservation that we were celebrating a bday and 1st wedding anniversary and at no time did they server recognize or bring a dessert (even though the lady with a birthday sash next to us was sung to). We were a little disappointed.
Great place to take special friends for a night out! You can’t beat the atmosphere, even if it was a little chilly, worth the outside dining and feeling of the Mission Inn. My favorite go to place. Food and service are great!
Service was a little slow at times, but overall good experience.
Great location, ambiance and food. The atmosphere is so in tune with California and the Hispanic heritage. Cant wait to return
Las Campanas is the perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy a great meal on a date, with friends or with family!
Great environment, great food, great service. Definitely recommend.
We were celebrating our friend's leap day birthday! It was a pleasant atmosphere the setting was gorgeous and the staff was excellent!
Great food, great price, great scenery all at a great price!
You can't get better than this. My oldest son was married in this section of the Mission Inn about 20 years ago. All of the restaurants at the Mission Inn are FIRST CLASS. It was a perfect night with all the tropical plants and beautiful lighting. Couldn't ask for a more relaxing and enjoyable dinner.
My wife and I enjoyed our dinner in the outdoor setting. the vegetation surrounding added to the feeling of freshness in the air and garden fragrance. service was very good and the staff was friendly as well as responsive. the only recommendation we would offer is to have Spanish music both vocal and instrumental in the background rather than hard rock or a radio station variety music. we truly enjoyed our experience and look forward to our next visit. we have been customers of the Mission Inn Hotel and other restaurants and have always had a good experience. we highly recommend the Mission Inn.
So this was my first time eating here and was really excited but unfortunately it started to rain lightly which is not the restaurant fault but the reason I did not give them a full 5 stars is because while it rained everyone except my table and a table behind me did not get an umbrella some tables were given umbrellas and nobody was sitting there and we asked along with the table behind me and they kepted saying they will bring one but they never did so as far as food my fiance had Chile verse and that was a lil salty he didnt enjoy his food he asked for flour tortilla and gaved him corn the sangria was ok and I had the chicken fajitas def they were good but I usually like grillled fajitas and these seem boiled almost but they were juicy so overall that was our experience I expected a lil more from the restaurant and we felt a lil disappointed with experience
Las Campanas is a magical little spot! You cannot beat the ambiance of the lushly landscaped patio strewn with twinkling garden lights while seated at a funky mosaic tiled table. It is nestled perfectly inside the gorgeous Mission Inn so that anywhere you rest your eyes you have something beautiful to look at. The staff goes above and beyond giving 5 star service. It happened to start sprinkling halfway through dinner, and the staff immediately went to work setting up large umbrellas and heaters around each table. I think it actually enhanced our experience that night and made it even more special.
Wonderful ambience. Mediocre over priced Mexican food. Bland, not authentic, but among the best outdoor restaurant information ambience in SoCal.
Great place to bring family. Nice atmosphere, we went on President’s day holiday weekend
The ambience of the patio at Las Campanas is so pleasant. In addition, our visit was enhanced by our waiter, Kailey, who was professional, attentive, and upbeat, the hostess, who was very efficient, and the gentleman who brought us chips/salsa and water. The weather cooperated to make for a pleasant visit, and the lighting makes the area look very festive. All around, this was a great experience, and we highly recommend the restaurant for a casual evening.
This place is so beautiful!!
It feels like you are on vacation!!
Went for Valentine’s Day and the restaurant and the hotel was so beautiful and romantic
It’s outdoors but with the propane heaters you would never know you’re outside. Even though you’re surrounded by other people, it was still incredibly intimate. Definitely going back!
Been there for Valentines before but it didnt feel like atmosphere for valentine's day or the welcome. Didn't like the table where I was at. Too many customers going by us. A rose was not given at the entrance like last time . Just wasn't the same.
Dinner for Valentine’s day
nice place. a little pricey but then again we only come about 3-4x a year. Our place we love
The ambiance is wonderful. Food is good. Our server, on the other hand was awful. We waited a good 10 mins before he even came over to ask us what we would like to drink, then it took another probably 15 mins and did not even have my husband's drink as they ran out of draught beer. How can a supposedly 5 star hotel restaurant run out of anything? Our food also came cold. I put on OpenTable that we were celebrating a birthday and no one even seemed to know or care. Would I recommend - sure for the ambiance, somewhat for the food.
Great way to celebrate our daughter in law’s birthday
Loved it! Beautiful atmosphere! Food was delicious and reasonably priced!
Our server was great, but it took a very long time to get our meals.
We had a lovely time and the service was great. We will go back again.
It was good
This was our 2nd time here and once again the food was delicious, but the service left a lot to be desired. We had two other tables eat and clear out and be reseated before we even got our food. When the manager was finally located ( because we had to go looking for him) he said he was going to discount our check and did, but then handed it to the server again to bring to us. I feel the manager should have handle it at that point.
Beautiful setting for a Mexican dinner!! Food was actually sort of average but the ambience is so lovely and enchanting that it more than makes up for the mediocrity of the fare.
Other than waiting for 45 minutes past our reservation time, I would recommend Las Campanas. The atmosphere was delightful and the food was excellent! The restaurant was very busy and it appeared that it was under staffed, leading to the long delay in being seated and served.
Fantastic as always
Delicious food (although I recommend holding the orange in the table side guacamole), nice ambience, and a great experience.
The music is not appropriate - too loud and to raucous. The food was not as good as before.
The menu does not offer many choices - especially if ordering a la carte.
The Mission Inn Perfect margaritas were watered down. Tasted like they had been made in a shaker earlier and left sitting.
The guacamole is no longer served table side
All in all, a very disappointing experience. Especially compared to how the restaurant used to be.
Too many cost cutting procedures going on.
