The food was veryyyy good !! We had alot of fun..
I went for the beautiful patio. We did appetizers, they were okay, not spectacular. The margaritas were good, just small for the price.
Food was okay, and a little pricey. Outdoor patio was really nice and service was great!
I hate to do this but we left. Food took an hour to come , when it did came they only brought my food not my husband. My food was cold because they let it sit there, so I asked the waitress to take it back. She didn’t really care ,her apology was like whatever. Yes people don’t want to work because of Covid understandable, but I’m still spending my hard earned money and it should be worth it. Strawberry margarita was good but way over priced $13 for one glass, they could’ve of at least said we’ll take care of it since this was our error. Food did smell good but not sure if I’ll give it a second chance or not. It your customer service low I don’t care how good your food is I’m not staying . Sadly we weren’t the only couple to leave without eating. I wish you all the best and do better for future guest !
As A long time customer we’ve seen changes over time that left us somewhat disappointed. It really wasn’t evident during Covid, as their take away service, kept us sated for South of the Border delights. But just having come back to town from an extended west coast hiatus, we were excited to get back into the swing of what makes Chicago great. We had reservations, no problem getting seated. We saw the QR code’s near the hostess stand but didn’t have time to scan them, there were no codes or menus at the table. Our waitstaff person, was totally, disinterested took our drink order and then disappeared. Upon her return I mentioned the lack of menus and or QR code and her response the menus are online and then disappeared again. Struggling with the navigation and small screen we finally made our choices, had to flag her down and when we gave our order either the items were lunch only or from another location. The website was not very intuitive. Finally sourcing our order and having to flag her down again, we noticed that the the menu once Brimming with expansive offerings of multiple choices had been streamlined excessively ( although I know this has been going on for a while) and prices were much higher for the value of the meal presented. Gone was the playful experience of ordering multiple smaller plates to share. We love the outdoor experience but disappointed in a having a neighborhood treasure that’s walkable lose its appeal.
I heard wonders about this restaurant and was super excited until I actually got there and their margaritas weren’t good, their food was manageable. Just a true disappointment to be nice and honest but would never dine here ever again!!! What a sad memory……
I’ve never made a complaint before. It wasn’t the fact that my roommate and I sat at our table without receiving a water let alone an acknowledgment for 20+ minutes, it’s the fact that when I approached the waiter at the serving station and politely asked who our waiter was that he not so politely looked at me & said “what? I’m busy” that made me leave a one star review.
I wish the service was as cute as their patio.
Food and drinks were great!
Solid place but nothing crazy, margs are good but expensive. Will probably be back but not dying to go back
Food is not good at all. If you are looking for good Mexican cuisine, this is not it
Great atmosphere, but the food is honestly bad and some of the most expensive Mexican food I've paid for in the city. I'd stick to drinks on the patio.
Food was good. Service was friendly but slow as wait staff was in charge of several rooms
Skinny marg has my heart... the food not so much. Still great for drinks and chips / apps though! Especially if you can be on the patio!
Over crowded and understaffed. We left without eating because of the wait. Greedy owners want to make money but not provide service. Will be hard pressed to recommend anyone.
Always love coming here, great atmosphere!
Staff seemed to be more
worried about getting the girls at the other tables free shots than taking care of other tables needs
Had 6:15 reservations for an early dinner. Got seated in front room right away. Food is solid-got 1 taco bowl and 1 burrito dinner. (nice portion sizes!).
My friend had a skinny maragarita (pretty tasty!) and a rose. I had 3 negra modelos.
We finally ordered and the food took a long time...around 35-40 min. The back room was getting really busy and I think the servers were pretty slammed. (at least they kept us hydrated! lol)
Had to ask a few people to find the waiter for the check...maybe he had tables in the back? IDK.
All in all, it was still great and we will go back!
ps-It was cold in the front room every time the door opened (wore my jacket for 90% of dinner)—so, next time we will try the back room for better atmosphere/more lively—or patio once it’s warmer!
Really hustle you outta there dang
Food was lack luster. The service was horrible. Never brought silverware, forgot plates for our appetizers. Apparently quesso funding is supposed to be eaten pick nick style.
It’s a huge restaurant and no one was there, which is fine, but for the price ($100 for two) the experience felt like a casual diner. The chips were not fresh and came out in a paper bag. The drinks were made with juice and were majority ice.
Great waitress and the manager gave us a free shot! Definitely will dine again.
I love this place
Food was bad. Service was good.
Nice setting and very good ambiance
Not great, wouldn’t recommend food choice not given how I asked for it like steak well overdone and a bunch of dance students lingering showing off their moves got really annoying, dancing but not really feeling the music. Not impressed won’t go back
Food was very good. One room is a sports bar, the other was quiet and peaceful.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and food! Fun night of delish enchiladas and margaritas
Really good and great service, would recommend! I got the steak tacos
Great Service !!
Great food, great service. Our waitress, Rebecca, was darling!
Nice restaurant, located nxt to Kingston Mines. Not sure why its so difficult getting separate checks. Would nevertheless return.
For the prices they charge, the value of the food and drink wasn't up to par. There was nothing wrong with the food or service, I just left thinking we spent a LOT of money on pretty standard Mexican fare. The patio is very nice.
Dave, Thank you for taking the time to review. I'm sorry that the value was not up to par. Email us at for more details on your visit. Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks- Carolina
We had a reservation for 7:30 and got there and waited until 7:50 to be sat even though the entire dining room but 3 tables were empty. Once we sat down and ordered we waited for 40 minutes and only received water, finally we got up and told the hostess we were leaving. She didn't seem to care.
Special occasion for 50th birthday. Service was very slow.
This has always been a favorite - platters of real Mexican flavors and an incredible mole sauce. The recent price increases though were a bit steep and the menu is now condensed. Great patio dining despite the abbreviated menu.
Sat outside with a large group, had a very nice evening!
Their outdoor space is incredible! I ordered the al pastor chimichangas but the waiter suggested I get the chicken instead. It was okay. I do wish I knew what their al pastor meat tastes like though. My mango margarita was on point!
Took forever to get seated with very few customers. Once seated we did not have a waiter approach us for at least 20 minutes, again with very few customers. We walked out without ordering. Won't go back.
Best alfresco Mexican dining in the city!!! Service is great and food is delicious plus very good margaritas . Small cabanas for group with beautiful lighting of a large mural painted on wall of building at end of the patio.
Our 1st time there from beginning to end amazing. The hostesses and waitress amazing the food so delicious.
