Delicious dinner!
Service was friendly and attentive.
We weren’t allowed to sit until our reservation time (we only arrived 10 minutes early) even though there were clearly several open tables. Once sat, we waited to be greeted for over 10 minutes, again our server only had 2-3 tables tops. Drinks were great, the duck was very over cooked and salty. Overall a place I would go for drinks and an app but never dinner again.
Wonderful evening out and excellent food. Our server, Ty, was very attentive and always checked his mask before approaching our table.
A very leisurely meal and the food is excellent as usual. A great way to celebrate our anniversary in perfect safety.
Amazing food and service. A small mistake was made with our food order that was partially our fault. We accidentally ordered a dish with pork in it, but we do not eat pork. Once we let the waiter know, they corrected the issue swiftly. A new dish was ordered and came promptly, and we were not charged extra. I couldn't have asked for better service. We will be returning!
Outstanding ambience, excellent wines, super value. Best all around dining experience in The South.
My daughter gave me a gift card last Christmas the I hadn’t used yet so we decided to celebrate my son’s new job and my daughter’s promotion. Our server was awesome and we liked sitting by the window. We had hamburgers, salmon and the BLT and all were delicious. We definitely will be returning.
Had a business lunch and everything was perfect. Thank you.
Very good service in a great historic property. Food was expertly prepared
We celebrated our anniversary at Lemaire and had a lovely experience. Our waiter was attentive and conversational. At his recommendation, we had the rockfish and scallops, and both were absolutely delicious. Both the rockfish and the accompanying vegetables were perfectly done, and the scallops came with a flavorful, slightly spicy risotto that complemented it well. It is expensive, but we found the atmosphere and food to be worth the price. We had no complaints about the Covid-19 procedures, either.
Our waiter was terrific—very attentive and personable. He knew the menu well and never hurried us during the meal. All three of us especially loved our lettuce salad starter and the Grand Mariner creme brûlée dessert.
My daughter and I dined at Lemaire and stayed overnight at The Jefferson Hotel to celebrate her acceptance into the Bon Secours Nursing Program. Although we both live in Richmond, the entire experience felt like a mini vacation to us! The service was impeccable, the food was delicious. Our accommodations were luxurious and beautiful. What a wonderful and memorable time for us!
Superb chef innovation, preparation, and presentation with every appetizer and entries. Very special
Excellent service. Lovely food. Follow all the covid precautions
Our server was one of the best parts of our evening. (Shawn) The food was presented beautifully and was delicious. I especially enjoyed the Rockfish. The setting was elegant. We can’t wait to return.
Great food and great service
Service was extremely slow. It took about 20 minutes to even get someone to serve us water. I was not able to hear the server as he had two masks on. Also two of the people in our party had never been to Lemaire and he had asked that and then he did not do a welcome or appear very inviting. My mother has a medical issue and is unable to wear a mask. We had no issue going into dinner without her wearing it however when we arrived for breakfast we were aggressively addressed that my mother needed a mask. The African American woman that was one of the managers asked to see my mothers medical paperwork. It is against the governor’s executive order to ask for that as it also does not abide by Hippa laws. This was addressed with Danielle the manager and she still refused entry to the restaurant. This is currently being addressed as well as legal action taking place. Section D6 under the governors executive order addresses this.
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Lemaire. The salmon and rockfish we ordered were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Christmas decorations were still up and definitely added to the ambience. The evening was perfect for us.
Food was excellent and the atmosphere very intimate.
Great food & cocktails!! Only us and another table in our room ( great social distancing)
Terrible service, cold food. The ambience was nice but that’s about all!
Elegant atmosphere but the new COVID restrictions made it weird and our server was not very attentive. For the price, I thought the wine was not very good. The butternut squash soup was delicious, though. All in all, not worth the expense.
Very disappointed. Drove over an hour to get there for mediocre service and way overpriced food. Crab cakes were almost too salty to eat and served on an English muffin from the grocery store. Not what you should expect for $22. We have eaten there before and this is a significant decline. Not sure that we will return.
Our visit after Christmas n New Years is always perfect..decorations are still up n beautiful..The scallop n shrimp dish was perfect after eating all the holiday traditional foods..Yes will return for sure..
Lunch is a great value in a fabulous old world hotel totally renovated and beautifully decorated at Christmas. Once Covid restrictions are lifted don't miss the bar downstairs or the decadent Sunday brunch.
Ate outside on heated patio! It was fabulous!! Food was outstanding; my teen said it was the best burger he ever had!
The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. My party was immediately seated and the restaurant took all precautions for COVID. Our server was attentive and answered any questions we had about the menu and holiday drinks. It was a wonderful reprieve from the worries of COVID. The food was amazing, especially the peanut soup!
It’s always great to visit at the holidays. Our only problem was the BLT came without the bacon which was quickly rectified. We still feel that it’s a bit overpriced for what you get.
Service was slow and I had to go and find server to get check and then it took forever to get back. Server never checked to see if we needed anything after delivering food. Food was just okay, nothing special. Upset we could not take pictures anywhere in hotel. Bad experience overall.
I will say that I had dinner previously at the Jefferson and it was truly one of the best meals I have ever eaten at a restaurant. This experience was for lunch and I will not be back
Limited menu, only 3 desserts and no specials offered. Quiet, fine dining. Impeccable service by Michael.
What a perfect way to end 2020. It was almost “private dining” in the beautiful, quiet setting. The food was superb. My only reason for 4 stars on service was that the waiter, although his service was outstanding, was not very friendly. Perhaps a result of Covid?
Late lunch on Boxing Day. Reduced menu, but OK. The famous peanut soup was cool. Burgers and salads fine. Service very good. In sum, not up to its usual standards, but very good in these strange times.
Very disapointed in the food quality, and the room was just okay. Despite being fairly empty took a long time for servers to attend to table. Perhaps its better before Christmas. Extremely overpriced for the quality of the food. I had salad with chicken that was very tough. Those with me had salmon that did not seem to be good quality.
Due to social distancing seating restrictions and the fact it was Christmas, the restaurant was sold out. We were guests at the hotel but unable to get a dinner reservation. Open Table came to the rescue, as we found a bar table reservation available on their site.
The bar area was actually a lovely room off to the side of main dining and was virtually empty. The hotel looked empty, but it was decorated just as it would for a huge holiday crowd. Our waiter was so friendly and accommodating. He kept checking on us, and he looked quite busy. We ordered cocktails, appetizers, and a main course. Everything was a hit. The bourbon drinks were amazing. We both had fried oyster apps that were the highlight. The portions were generous, and as requested, my hot sauce was on the side. It was so good!
My partner had 3 apps for dinner, and I had the oysters and rockfish. The latter was cooked perfectly. They offer a glass and a half of wine as an option, and it was perfect when 1 glass isn't enough, but you don't want 2. Wish I had saved room for dessert.
The Jefferson made us feel safe staying there and dining during the pandemic. Cannot wait to return. Unless you were a guest of the hotel or the restaurant, you were not allowed to come inside.
We had never been to breakfast at Lemaire, typically we have gone to the Sunday Brunch at Christmas. Decided to come for breakfast to see the Jefferson's decorations. So glad we did! The food was excellent - we both had Eggs Benedict that were even better than those on the brunch! Service was excellent as well.
We loved our experience at the Lemaire! Our waitress was very nice, the service was fast, and the food was amazing. The waitress also knew we didn’t have access to the mini fridge in our hotel room and offered to keep my leftover food in a refrigerator- but, of course, when we left the hotel I forgot all about it and was sad all the way home. I got the mushroom risotto and it was AMAZING! I was really looking forward to having the rest for lunch the next day. I guess we will have to make a trip back :) thank you for a great wedding anniversary dinner!
Had a great family lunch!
Disappointed in the quality of the food, and we were seated in the bar area. This was a first for us. It was not up to their usual standards.
With the COVID and the Governor being what he is, it was not as intimate as in the past. Any drinks had to be finished by 10 and removed from the table but some reason you can get COVID from the water or soda... only the wine.
Food was AWESOME
We love dining at Lemaire! The service and food are always top notch.
