Lemon Grass - Syracuse
This was our first time dining here. I have experience in the restaurant business having been part of the ownership/management team of one establishment and having some experience cooking professionally. The food here is wonderful and it goes far beyond the same old dishes served at every Thai/Pan Asian restaurant. The desserts were every bit as good as the main courses. My group is quite tolerant of spicy food. The dishes marked "hot and spicy" on the menu were well below our threshold for what is truly hot and spicy, so it is likely that even those would be suitable for most diners. The ingredients in each dish were very fresh. Some of the flavors were a bit unique, even mytserious--but all of those flavors were delicious. The restaurant is nicely appointed with some nice artwork on the walls. Service was more than professional, though we were a little surprised that our meals were served so quickly. The wine list was quite nice. The only negative comment i would make regards price. Our meal was 4 main dishes, 2 desserts and a single glass of wine. With tip we spent over $220. Seemed like a lot for Thai food in Syracuse, NY (actually it seemed like a lot for any restaurant in Syracuse, NY). Though i knew we would not be ordering a bottle of wine, i nonetheless scanned the wine list. Had a bottle of even one of their mid range wines been ordered, our check would have bounced up considerably.
We ate here for my husbands surprise birthday party with a group fo friends. All have different food tastes, but all were impressed with the quality of food and service. It's out favorite place!!
The noise level was quiet because we ate at 2:15pm, during the early stage of the coronavirus pandemic, most people were not out to eat at that time.
If you're wanting traditional Thai, this isn't it. But if you want food with a Thai twist, this is a good option.
The food here is outstanding. Service is also top notch. Very nice for a special occasion.
Everytime I come to Syracuse and want consistency I go to Lemongrass. The food is always great! And the service is awesome too! Thank you :)
This is a high-end Thai place which is hard to find. The flavors and freshness were spot on. Definitely a special occasion place with the linens and the dressed up waiters, but we went for a weekend lunch and it was perfect.
Here for dining week and not disappointed. Five people at the table and everyone enjoyed their meal except one who was not thrilled with a Thai pork dish. The waiter was attentive, informative and friendly, all in the perfect amount. Personally, I had the spring rolls and Thai swordfish. The swordfish was nice for me, but may be a little spicy for some palates. The more continental preparation with capers and lemon/wine reduction may be a safer choice for some.
It would be 5 stars if the restaurant acknowledged the occasion. My reservation was marked “birthday”, but no special acknowledgement was given
Traveled up to Syracuse for the basketball game and my birthday. Food was amazing! Good thing we checked the bill tho there were extra charges on there for drinks and meals we did nit order. The waitress corrected it saying that she forgot to close out the last table.
Food and service was great. What my complaint is that we were squeezed into a narrow space where the waitstaff passed by and constantly bummed into me throughout the dinner. This made for a very unpleasant experience. The hostess knew very well what she was doing despite the fact that we had made reservations.
The food and service was and always is incredible
Amazing food and great service! Our waiter, Nevin, was
Delicious food! The best dining weeks deal in Syracuse. Accommodating for large groups.
The food, as always was superb! Our waitress, I believe her name was Jenna, was fantastic! Never a bad choice.
Outstanding food as I've come to expect from Lemon Grass. Was a theater night so busier than normal for mid-week. Doesn't excuse getting charged $60 for bottle of wine clearly listed as special for Dining Week at $35 (and per local wine merchant they pay like $13 for!). Desserts were works of art and delicious even if $13 each (which wasn't listed on the dessert menu). Started off with 6 oysters ($20) which were splendid. Don't take my wife and daughter out enough so $200 dinner bill for 3 of us wasn't unexpected but rather pricey to come to Lemon Grass more than once or twice a year.
My friend and I went there a couple of nights ago to try their dining week menu. The whole experience was great! Our server, Joe, was outstanding! We had the corn soup, the spring rolls, the filet and the swordfish w bistro sauce! We also tried one of their scrumptious chocolate dessert. Everything was delicious and we’ll definitely be back!
We were there for lunch, so the restaurant wasn't that crowded. We loved everything except that if there had been more people we would have felt a little crowded in and not able to have a private conversation.
While visiting Syracuse over the weekend, we stumbled upon Lemon Grass. The food, service and ambiance was excellent! We were seated in the back bar area and there was a wonderful jazz duo playing which was an added bonus to a perfect dining experience. Look forward to visiting again on our next trip to Syracuse!
I would not go back to Lemongrass, it’s not worth the value. For the amount of money we spent the food was just ok and I was underwhelmed with the service.
Food excellent but expensive. No ambiance. Tables on top of each other. I had employees bumping in to the back of my chair four times...once hitting the back of my head.
Had a reservation and the sat us at a table by the door on a very cold night. Very loud like a cafeteria.
Marc was horrible great place thou great food now the guy who keeps glass full was awesome
Nice flavors on the entrees. The service was well below expected.
I love this place. The best desserts in town! Best thai food in CNY but they have a variety for people that don’t like spicy food.
Great service and amazing food and presentation. Well worth the price!
It's always fantastic st Lemongrass. 5 stars all around! Deciduous, authentic Thai
The food was outstanding and the the wine was delicious. The staff was great. Everyone made sure you were taken care of. It is pricey but the food is so well made and the choices are abundant that it is worth it. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Our waiter Joe was very attentive and answered all our questions. Food was very good and presented well. Overall it is a little pricey but worth it especially for a special occasion.
Delicious food. Great recommendation on wine. Very extensive wine lust
Amazing food, quality and price. Perfect for business lunch
I did not like my entree and it was way too expensive for what it was.
The wine list is phenomenal and Dean was an excellent Sommelier. The food is excellent and presented in a great setting.
We had an outstanding meal on 12/31/19! They were very busy but the service as well as the food was excellent!
Treated my nephew to his first Thai food experience. Our waiter did a great job explaining the food selections. We had a delicious meal. Service was attentive without hovering. Worth the cost!
Poor service , server was rushing Evan when the restaurant was more than half empty .
We were greeted by a smile and brought to a beautiful table. Jamie was our sever and he was great. We ordered a great bottle of wine and the Steaky bacon and the Pear and Blue salad as appetizers. Both were very flavorful and delicious. For the dinners, we both ordered the Thai baked Pot. We also shared an excellent dessert named the Chocolate Can can. It was our first time to this restaurant as we will definitely go back. The service, wine, dinner and dessert were exquisite.
We have been going to Lemongrass for more than 25 years. It is constantly excellent. The service is excellent, the setting is lovely without being pretentious, and the good is outstanding. Always. Remember to save room for dessert. In addition to being delicious, the desserts are works of art, almost too beautiful to eat. Almost. I highly recommend Lemongrass for call occasions, even a random weekday dinner.
Inventive Thai fusion. Crispy duck lives up to its reputation. Lovely dining room with colorful large paintings adorning the walls. Real find in Syracuse!
Fantastic food and service as always! Just wish it was a little less pricey because then we could go more often!
