Good place for a celebration. Service was very attentive. Wife had the duck which was done well. My steak was overdone, appearing as though it had been left to grill too long on one side. Perhaps it would have been less noticeable if it were a thicker cut.
Great job with food allergies.
It was just terrible. We won’t be back anytime soon. We were treated like the staff was annoyed that we were there. It took literally 30 minutes for us to even get a cocktail. My filet was overdone and dry. It was just so miserable we wont be back. So sad- we were so excited to have a reservation there and a night out!
We went on a Sunday when Valentine's Day was on Friday and Presidents Day was on Monday. The restaurant was extremely busy, which caused both bar and table service to be slow. The large bar was understaffed with only one person ending. The bartender and our waiter were both hustling, but wait times for drinks and courses were long. The setting is very nice, the ambiance is good, and the noise level is moderate. If we return it won't be on a holiday weekend.
They claimed that Open Table book excess reservations. We all had to wait. I had friends with a 6:30 reservation for their anniversary that were not seated till 8:15 and then they waited 30 minutes with no contact and left.
For us we had had a 6:00 reservation seated about 6:30 and then waited 30 minutes for a waiter. Runners brought everything to our table the waiter brought nothing. We did not get our food till about 7:30. The steaks were raw and I am a rare to MR guy. No one checked on us so there was no way to adjust. Given the way things were going we just took the food home. We waited for almost 45 minutes for the check. When the waiter arrived he said I am sure you don't want a dessert menu at this time. I did send an e-mail to their website hoping management would address the issues, but so far no response. I realize restaurants have an off night, but really??? You should double check if it is true that you over booked them as they were telling everyone it was Open Tables fault
We are frequent guests. NEVER had a bad meal. It’s wonderful. !!!!! *
It was a very nice meal we shared a berry appetizer salad
For a main course I had the chicken Sicilian and he had a vegetarian dish with quinoa
One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. A little upscale but worth the money compared to other upscale places. Signature cotton candy served with dessert is a plus too!
Excellent food and service. Great menu. Highly recommend.
Beautiful venue! Exceptional service, great menu and wine list. Loved the live jazz duo (Fri nite).
Leesburg is so charming with lots within walking distance - perfect place for a grand occasion or just date night!
Overall great experience. Ambience is eclectic. Service amazing!
This was a very noisy experience. We were seated near the kitchen/restroom/bar area so perhaps it was a busy spot and noisier that the front. The food was good but some aspects of each dish were lacking. Otherwise the staff was polite and helpful and the interior is beautiful.
Great meal great service
The staff was very accommodating and friendly.
We have dined at Lightfoot for many years and last evening was one of the best meals we have had there in
a while. The ham biscuits are always a favorite and each entree was superb.
Kudos to the chef!!
We enjoyed a wonderful meal, as usual, at Lightfoot on New Year's Eve. The table was ready 15 prior to our reservation. Blaine was a fabulous server. He even volunteered to take a picture of us in front of the hearth that was so incredibly well decorated. It was an evening to remember. Thanks you, Lightfoot.
Beautiful restaurant with great food.
The only drawback was that the server (Blane) took over 30 minutes to run our credit card. We eventually had to ask another member of the staff to run our card. Everything else was fabulous.
Absolutely spectacular service and food!
I stopped going here for over a year as the last time I ordered the Groovy meatloaf sandwich, I felt like Clara Peller —. “Where’s the Beef??” It was ridiculous!! However, after lunch this week, I feel Lightfoot has redeemed itself. It was my favorite restaurant in Leesburg and I hope it will remain so.
OMG...one of the most wonderful nights and food in our lives. Will was superb as was the entire management staff and they made our anniversary so special. Only downfall was the crotchety patron that was sat behind us that pontificated about her infection for the tail end of our meal. Owner was also dressing down one of her waiters as we were leaving the restaurant...which I loved, but wife thought it could have been handled out of the way more. This is a must visit location for a special evening. Anything crab is outstanding and their steak was beyond compare.
Birthday was beautifully celebrated with a small ice cream sundae and cotton candy!
Beautiful restaurant. Great service the onion and mushroom soup was fantastic. Will go again!
never had a bad meal here...consistently good
A delightful lunch in a charming town with an exceptional server!
A lovely setting, with a perhaps overly broad menu. .The execution was uneven. My fish was excellent, but accompanying chips were indifferent, limp, and cold. My wife’s shrimp and lobster plate was also cold. The crab bisque was excellent.
Our server was helpful, cheerful, and unobtrusive, but a tad inattentive. She did refill glasses, but didn’t offer coffee refills. That was not a big issue for me but my wife is a more high-maintenance diner.
We think that Lightfoot’s is a decent value and will return. Good neighborhood restaurant.
Waiter was great.
We were not allowed to sit until 11:30 even though the website says open at 11.
Three of us ordered a special onion soup and warm ham on a baguette.
Onion soup had mushrooms in it.
Instead of banquettes we got croissants which were mushy..
The restaurant had been very busy earlier and was playing catch up on resetting tables so we opted to sit at the bar adjacent to the warm and cozy fireplace. The meal was delicious from start to finish. We enjoyed some of their local craft beer as well as a cocktail. All of the dishes that we tried were excellent and prepared with care. The bartender took great care of us and we were asked by the host a couple of times if we were enjoying our meals, always nice to be acknowledged. He was on a phone call as we were leaving but put down the phone to bid us farewell and thank us for joining them. We are locking forward to coming back the next time we are in Leesburg.
My husband and I want to like this place so much, but every time we go, there is a problem. While the food was good and the server was fantastic, the restaurant manager was rude, arrogant and unwelcoming. He managed one thing very well, which is ruining our experience!
Always delicious and a wonderful experience!
Great food, service and ambience! They made the experience special for my birthday. I will be back.
Waiting a 1/2 hr for a coffee was unacceptable, especially since we asked multiple people. The restaurant was very busy and the server was clearly overextended. Our Bloody Mary's came and we still waited for coffee. By the time the server took our order, we were starving. They were gracious enough to accept a gift card that had expired the month before and this was likely due to the chaos. The food was worth it and the portions large, but expect a Sunday visit to be especially leisurely.
It as a very good lunch to celebrate a birthday and also for any other occasion
It’s just not the food - as wonderful as that is -it the impeccable service. And by that I mean prompt, welcoming, patient, helpful service. I have been dining at Lightfoot's for over fifteen years - the quality has never wavered. They consistently provide a wonderful experience.
We loved the setting of the restaurant, an old bank with a huge vault door. The service was great, everyone was very attentive and polite and quick. The food was just good, not great and not bad in any way, but we didn’t leave wanting to go back. A nice first experience and glad we went.
We have dined at Lightfoot dozen of times and have never been disappointed.
Mediocre food, OK service, surly manager/host
I've been to Lightfoot probably 12 times for Sunday brunch because it's a favorite for a visiting relative. There are always six of us and my relative prefers one round table (instead of a rectangle) in the rear of the restaurant that's comfortable for her with mobility issues. Unfortunately, the restaurant flat out refuses to reserve a specific table or let me get there super early to claim it. The host is just surly about it. I've never encountered a restaurant that refuses any and all requests for a certain table for a special family event when the restaurant isn't even crowded.
The food is so-so...interesting combinations but it never really hits the mark. The kitchen is inconsistent about honoring simple special requests (like type of cheese or omitting sour cream, etc) and servers are not fluent in understanding the ingredients of items that have been on the menu for years.
The mimosas as allegedly bottomless but you can only get a refill if the server comes back to the table, so it's in effect a mimosa plus maybe a refill.
My family keeps going back because it's the only upscale restaurant with brunch in the heart of downtown Leesburg. I am more dedicated than ever to lobby we go somewhere else after the rudeness of the host at the front stand last weekend.
Took my mother sister and wife to eat at Lightfoot
As perMy request, they gave us a nice quiet booth in the back. We started off in the mail with two appetizers; the deviled eggs which are always wonderful and the oysters Rockefeller which were a delight . Everyone decided to get the same entrée which was a Gyro and it was very delicious along with the zucchini fries.
For desert we ordered Spinoni Sunday’s; as well as a lemon cake.
We left happy
Excellent food and service, wonderful setting
