Located just a couple blocks from the Super Dome, Maypop Restaurant offers Southern cuisine with an obvious Southeast Asian influence in addition to some of the best wings in New Orleans. While the Vindaloo curry hot wings are their only option, the flavorful taste is well worth a trip. If these are just serving as an appetizer, there are plenty of other great options like crispy fried oysters, smoked Florida mullet tartine, braised lamb and more. Unique folding partitions feature massive maps, and this combines with floral art and contemporary seating for a modern appeal.

When Hurricane Katrina closed the doors of Gabrielle Restaurant for over a decade, the city lost a mecca of Cajun cuisine. Anyone who walks past the deep blue and yellow building now, though, immediately recognizes they’re back in business. Although they don’t have the typical selection of best wings in New Orleans, the wings on their slow-roasted duck will give any eatery a run for its money. The high-end art, linen tablecloths and luxury lighting all point towards a fine dining experience, and additional menu options like paneed rabbit, veal chops and Crème Brûlée live up to this atmosphere.

Although these typically result in a full belly, patrons would do themselves a disservice by not trying the blueberry cheesecake or banana pudding ice cream cake.
