Lou & Mickey's

Snake River Farms, ID - American Wagyu
Wow! The whole experience was great. Josh was our waiter and he treated me and my wife very well. He answered all our questions and his recommendations were top notch. I will definitely be back when I am in town. I don’t know why I didn’t come here earlier. The other steak houses in the area don’t compare.
Great crack cakes and shrimp !
I booked for a party of 7 to celebrate a Bachelor Party we sat on the patio with hitch was beautiful and had Tammy as our server. She was exceptional and the food was outstanding! Everyone was talking about how great everything tasted all night and the next day.
Will definitely be back
We went for my husband’s birthday and for being here for the rock and roll.
Just came by for dessert and cocktails. Was so yummy!!
We went for my dads birthday because he already knows he’s going to get great quality food that is absolutely delicious! We all got a different steak and not one of us was disappointed in our choices. Sides I highly recommend the mashed potatoes and mushrooms!! On top of great food the service is Amazing! No time is spent complaining wondering where your waiter is, so you just get to enjoy and make good memories with loved ones!
Great night out to celebrate friendship and people. The food was excellent and the staff was very helpful. Yummy food.
Everything from the bar service, our table server (she was amazing!) to the food was top notch! I highly recommend Lou and Mickey’s and I’ll most certainly dine here again when I’m back in town.
The food was amazing!!! We sat outside and it was really nice. They turned on heat lamps per request. Would definitely come back again when I’m San Diego.
We sat on the patio which offered a fantastic view. It was a warm autumn night so the temperature was perfect. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. Food was great and the cocktails better. Would totally go again.
Bad vibe outside
Bad bad bad service
My previous opinion of this place was that it was exceptional.
Delicious food and excellent service! We got recommendations from friends & it did not disappoint.
Very average. Food was flavorless. Very expensive for what you get. The front staff hostesses are very rude and seem annoyed both times we have gone
service was not up too par...had to wait a little longer than usual for our waiter to acknowledge our presence. Seemed as though he was a little distracted because he took a little long to take our order. Our steaks were adequate but nothing I would write about. The restaurant was close to the hotel I was staying in, so there was easy access. I might return and give them a second chance when I am in the San Diego area in several months.
We had a great table outside & the food was fabulous- steaks cooked just right & excellent service
Amazing food and excellent service. Our waiter Kyte was on point and took great care of us.
Great food and service.
Great food and drinks, great plans to take your significant other
I have only one suggestion, when a guest calls and ask for a 'private booth,' it typically means not a 'shared booth.' I would appreciate that the hostess or front desk clarify. Other than, that everything was perfect! The steak was delicious and juicy and cooked perfectly! Our server was awesome!
Service was perfect. The flow between being sat down, having our order taken and the food arriving was seamless. We love the look of the place and will be back
We always dine at Lou & Mickey’s when we’re in San Diego and it’s always fabulous! We love the old style ambiance. The food is amazing, especially the steaks.
We loved the macadamia nut encrusted halibut and fresh oysters. Also the delicious apple tart and French press coffee. Our waiter Josh was very attentive and made the dining experience great!
This is an odd situation. I have been going to this restaurant for years now and know it well. It is reliably good but it has never been even near the top of my list of favorite steak houses. I have always liked the unpretentious service and ambience but never thought it a great place as far as the food goes. So, I was surprised when we took a visiting friend from Phoenix there. We chose the restaurant because it was very close to his hotel and there was a threat of rain.
The food was really very, very good. I had the aged ribeye (priced by the ounce). This was a scrumptious, absolutely terrific steak with a superb crust. I grieved for a while when I had finished it. The table split a shrimp pasta and had a spinach side. Both were straightforward and delicious. The bearnaise was excellent. The appetizers, calamari and a warmed goat cheese with toasts and sautéed (possibly roasted) vegetables, were excellent. We had a good 2016 California cab from a wine list that does have some choices with a little age (important to me).
Allow me to be direct: this was an expensive meal. But compared to the prices at other steakhouses the value to dollar ratio was quite good. Because I am a boor I did not get our server's name, but he was terrific, even laughed at my (lame) jokes.
I had an apple tart for dessert. This consisted of apples as they would be in a tarte tatin but on a simple puff pastry instead of a pastry finished in a skillet. The buttery, caramelized apples were at (without being over) the edge of being burnt. Fantastic.
Bottom line: My reliable old friend, Lou and Mickey's, has gotten a lot better. If you want a good steak with all the trimmings, don't miss it.
Lou & Mickey's is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is amazing, wide selection at the bar, and the service is impeccable.
Great reuniting with friends from the East Coast to enjoy a very flavorful and fantastic meal. All of the food (appetizer, sided, main) exploded with deep and full flavors while the steaks just melt in your mouth. Truly a fantastic and enjoyable experience. The staff was super friendly and witty. Overall a charming and delightful experience.
the service was great, our server was knowledgeable about the menu, suggestions and any questions we may have had; though, at times tried to avoid us due to our food running a little behind (definitely note her fault), but she was very conscientious about our needs (drinks and any other attention matters). Overall the food was amazing, the service was great and the ambience, a little loud, was very bearable and able to talk over. Amazing dining experience and would come again.
Had a great server, Eva. She knew the menu, meats, drinks, and was great overall. She makes you want to keep coming back! Had the 30 day Porterhouse.. ENOUGH said. It was SO good!!!
Slow service and slow busing.
Our waiter was nice but we will try another restaurant next time in town.
Service was awful. It took 20 minutes to get Restuarant Week Menus.
Then 30minutues to tell me that the beer I ordered was sold out.
THey brought a replacement - 50 min after arrving, of a size different than what i orignally ordered.
Frustrated, after 1.5hr mostly bored, we order our desserts to go. Boxed.
They arrived on plates at the table. Dios mio.
LIke so many, LM is understaffed, and some staff is new.
Not really their fault. Management has apparently collapsed.
For $50 u get a steak with no side. Nothing.
Maybe I lack the sophisticated taste buds for fine steak, but this seems
over-priced, poorly served, with no parking.
We have been to dozens of Diego restaurants. From funky to high tone.
L&M experience was overall approximately the worst experience for the money.
Just Last week - much better was Duke's in LaJolla. One Door North.
The service was amazing and the food was off the chain! ♥️
We asked for their Restaurant Week menu.
I had the skirt steak and hubby had the filet mignon. It was the best I’ve ever had, tender and yummy yummy perfect.
Service was fair, hubby had to ask for sweetener 3 times. For being a Saturday, it seemed they may have been short staffed.
Will definitely recommend & plan to return.
Love it, all.
come and see and have your own experience
Good food, kinda pricey, but if you're looking for a date spot that's kinda upscale and doesn't require a 1hr waitlist this is your spot.
Stteak was awesome.. We sat outside since it was a beautiful night. Would go back again.
It was pleasant evening , the servers were very nice, decor charming and clean. The timing of serving the drinks and food were off and there was the frequent noise from the trolley that took a bit away from the ambiance.
The service we had that night was outstanding. Took part in the restaurant week and the offer was worth it. The aged steak was delicious. Avoid ordering the spinach. Oysters were good and the wine was a good pairing. I would recommend going and expect a great meal.
Came for me and my wife's 19th wedding anniversary dinner. Just a quiet dinner for 2. Food was awesome and service was great. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Also we received a complimentary dessert since I indicated it was our anniversary on my reservation. The cheesecake was phenomenal! Definitely intend to return.
Very mediocre food for the price. The service was slow and it wasn’t busy.
I had high expectations for this place they didn’t even come close.
