Lou & Mickey's
My wife and I were staying at the Hilton next door and decided to try Lou and Mickey's. Location is great. We sat outside which was also very nice. Our server wasn't very attentive but wasn't too bad. The food however was bland. My wife had a 60 day aged rib eye at $73 and I had the American Wagyu ribeye at 70$. We had the creamed spinach, mushrooms and scalloped potatoes. Steaks were decent. Mine didn't present well, but my wifes looked great and both were well seasoned. The sides were not good. We had to add salt to all three, including the potatoes that were covered in cheese. Place is priced like a high end steak joint, but isn't quite at the level of Maestros or Ruths Criss, or even Flemings or Mortons. Too bad.
Service and food was GREAT! We brought a couple of wine as we had just finished a wine tasting down the street. Surprise :) No corkage fee. What a Plus!! The only minus was they had no propane
for the heaters outside. We will definitely be BACK!
I cannot imagine coming to San Diego and not eating here. The service and environment are too notch. You pay, but you pay for one of the finest steaks you’ll eat.
We will absolutely return and hopefully it will be sooner than two years next time!
Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere and great service! Our go to date night spot! Looking forward to returning!
It took 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive and then we were ignored for 30 minutes. Finally a new server was sent to take care of us. Terrible dinning experience.
Service was great, but the food was blah. Nothing like expected. We had clam chowder, prime rib sandwich, a filet, and fish and chips. All was just ok.
A bit pricey, but delicious and great service . I would definitely come back
Table was so close to the table next to us we were practically at the same table. Waiter was dismal. My steak didn’t seem to be what I ordered but I dismissed that...the charring (burned) parts of the steak destroyed the taste. Ordered cream spinach and got just plain ole spinach. Believe it or not. I don’t see how this place ever received a good review.
Food was great! Server went missing for awhile. Steaks were served with no knives on the table. Refill on drinks & water didn’t happen cuz server was no where to be seen. But I will say their aged steaks are outstanding!
Food was acceptable not outstanding given the price. Service was poor. Dined mid week of a convention and apparently the restaurant was understaffed and ill prepared for a crowd. Would not recommend this restaurant
Had the 18oz. B/I ribeye, medium and chard on the outside! It was great! BBQ shrimp was good, fresh; however, it could have used more butter. Also, service was wonderful. Norah was excellent! Very knowledgeable of the menu and steak selection. She was very attentive and patient as well.
This is a meat lovers dream! Steaks by the ounce, a meat room and the most knowledgeable servers in town. If you want a once in a lifetime steak experience, this is your place. I guarantee we will be back next time we are in town.
Excellent 60 day aged steak. We were able to share it. They brought it out partially cut. Excellent!
Portions are large, and they are quite busy during lunch. Our clients enjoyed their lunch although 1 had to wait for his entree. They should serve them together.
The steak was delicious! I ordered the top sirloin well done and they butterflied it to cook better. It was perfect! Thoroughly cooked and not burnt. There was not one ounce of gristle, it was juicy and the flavor was amazing!
I had cheesecake for dessert and asked them to hold the fruit. It was a very big slice and came with whipped cream on the side. It was superb.
It was very noisy because there was a large group but the patrons and the staff were very well mannered and the decor was elegant. I will definitely go back.
We had a lovely meal. Steak was perfect, service was perfect, ambiance is fun, and the restaurant itself is gorgeous and lots of fun.
We had a great time celebrating our anniversary. Our server was perfect and the food was fantastic.
Great food but get ready to pay the price.
We have a recurring wine tasting dinner with our friends. Lou and Mickey’s was quick to respond to our inquiry and we worked with the event sales manager, Jennifer, to put together a custom menu for the evening. Everyone enjoyed the evening and the food and service was top notch. Thanks!
The food was amazing.
Great food. Service exceptional tonight. Lots of personal touches!
Order to ribeye steak. I never get that cut and it was amazing. Way more flavor and very little fat.
Great. I took the whole family, my husband & 2 kids. They all loved it. My husband wants to come back for his birthday.
Delicious 30 day aged beef.
Next to Gaslamp sign.
Excellent people watching.
Food was absolutely worth the price; excellent, knowledgeable staff, and a great location! Highly recommended.
Our first time there. The air dried 45 day porterhouse for two was the best steak I’ve ever had!!! The service was top notch. The best steakhouse in San Diego hands down!!?
One of my favorite go-to steakhouses in downtown San Diego also a great wine collection
Love this place! Special occasions, date nights, it's fabulous! Watch out for teriyaki tips, very spicy! We were treated royally!
Over priced for the quality. ——————————/—-//——————-
Our service was outstanding and the night with business associates was awesome. Thank you.
The location, food and drinks are great. If you want a happening place this is it, but don’t expect a lot of value for what you get. Steaks are outrageously priced and sides are extra. For the cost of one ribeye, you could buy 5 ribeyes yourself.
Need to be very specific when you want each course...our soup came out with our salad and then the entree came out before I finished either :(
The minute we entered we felt like welcome guests. The choices were explained in detail, the waiters were attentive and friendly.
The food was delicious and just the way we ordered it. Definitely a must return on our list.
Waiter knew his stuff and the kitchen pushed out a steak that was well worth the price. Great location and ambiance.
I was so disappointed with every aspect of this dining experience. There was obviously not enough staff working so the waiter did not greet us for at least 10 minutes. The poor guy looked as though he was taking care of 20 tables. It took another 10 minutes to get a glass of water. Finally we placed our order and the food came out in relatively good time. We ordered the garlic shrimp, mushrooms, artichoke and scalloped potatoes. The ONLY edible food was the shrimp. The artichoke looked and tasted as though it was dipped in oil. We couldn’t even eat it. The mushrooms had such a funky taste we sent them back. The scalloped potatoes also had so much oil on them we were sick to our stomachs. It was such bad service that nobody could tell we were unhappy until we sent the items back. What made matters worse was the table next to us was so disruptive and drunk. The poor manager had to go back 50 times that night to make sure their disgusting demands were taken care of. All in all it was the worst experience I have ever paid $100 for. So sad because it was a very cool looking place.
Great place to eat!! We were celebrating my wife's birthday and had a great meal with excellent service.
My medium steak was overcooked. My son's medium rare steak was undercooked. Not what you would expect from a high-dollar steakhouse. The butternut squash was undercooked. All-in-all, fairly underwhelming. The young lady who was our server was fine, but a tad familiar. The whole meal was about $250 with tip, which would've been fine if the experience was spectacular, but it more closely resembled a visit to Steak and Ale or Red Lobster, not a signature steakhouse that touts its legendary, world-reknowned reputation.
