Lucia Restaurant & Bar - Bernardus Lodge & Spa

The food was exceptional. The service was mediocre, especially for a restaurant of this caliber. The table was sticky with bits of food stuck between the slats and a few kernels of rice on the table to remind us of what the last diner had for dinner.

Covid times so I wanna cut em a brake... but service was pretty unacceptable. Waited over an hour for food to arrive. We generally have.great food amd service here but not this time.. Regretted making this one of our last meals before the shut down.

Excellent food and top notch service. The recently installed clear outdoor dining tent is very well done and effective in cold and rain.

Went there on a Wednesday. They had plenty of heaters for outside. We had a 530 reservation so we beat the crowd. Dave was our server and did a great job. The wine and food was great and the timing was just right. We noticed it filled up around 7 PM. The food was about the best we have had since moving to Carmel in February!

We were greeted by the friendly hostess and taking to our table, it was outside because of Covid. It was in the evening and there was enough heaters for warmth. The server was friendly And courteous. Appetizers were fantastic along with the main dishes and dessert. Overall great dining.

Lovely brunch in a beautiful outdoor seating scenery. Our servers were excellent. Will being attending again for dinner soon.

The food was excellent as always. We had crab cakes a squid salad, lamb and chicken. It was all great.

The ambiance and surroundings are beautiful, but the service, menu and food was very disappointing.

My husband and I came here for our 30th wedding anniversary dinner. Our waitress wasn’t really warm and welcoming. My husband ordered a steak and it came out cold. He normally doesn’t send things back but because it was expensive he did. When his steak came back, it was sliced up. For $65 they did not give him a new uncut steak. He didn’t want to hassle so he ate the meal. The manager came to our table and was accomadating to us and said he would comp my husbands meal. I just thought when you go to a restaurant such as this you would get a good meal and have acceptable service from waitress . I realize it’s covid and all but you’d think with this type of establishment they would give you a decent meal with good service.

Fantastic food, as always. The State of California's idiotic rules have forced Monterey Co restaurants outdoors, which is not ideal on 45 degree nights, but Lucia does the best it can with several outdoor heaters.

This is a romantic place to take a special someone for dinner. Ambiance was cozy and service was wonderful. After dinner, guests are welcomed to sit by the fire pit with a cocktail or wine. Definitely would recommend this place for a special occasion.

We come here every year for our anniversary and this was by far the best trip. Our waitress Jennifer was amazing. Her service and knowledge was on point.

The food was outstanding great butternut squash soup. I had salmon end my friend had halibut both were excellent

Expensive, food moderate, needed table light, dessert disappointing wine overpriced. Rooms still beautiful/top notch

First we waited 30 minutes past our reservation time for a table where we could hear the traffic. Food was good but not special. Broiled salmon salad was more like tuna salad. Steak tartare was excellent. Had to ask three times for water.

Great ambiance with tables even further apart than normal. The food is innovative and seasonally fresh. Every course is perfection. My only complaint would be there was no vegetarian option as an entree for the day - menus changes daily. The chef ended up creating a bountiful plate of side veggies.

Always amazing! Food is great. Chef Cal does a really good job. Portions are bit larger than expected. Service is amazing and the ambiance, you can't beat!

I adore Bernardus Spa and its beautiful location in Carmel Valley. Was hoping to enjoy breakfast at Lucia. Sadly, I spent almost $100 for 2 of us on breakfast that was subpar... biscuit served cold and without butter, breakfast potatoes almost cold, lukewarm coffee that was muddy. Very nice servers and valet staff!

We ate outside due to COVID but they had heaters which made it enjoyable. Staff was as accommodating as possible during this time. We had the short ribs which were amazing and a nice portion.

Love this unique place. Though the food is good, I do think it's overpriced for what you're getting. Still, it's a nice experience.

Perfect afternoon. Celebrating my wives birthday and our day at Bernardus exceeded our expectations. Thank you for the perfectly splendid experience

We had a lovely dinner at Lucia. Our reservations were for 8, but they were able to seat us at 7. Very covid safe and the meal was delicious. My salmon and beet salad were outstanding.

I really enjoyed my fish here. Very tasty and cooked just right. My sister ordered the fried chicken sandwich which she did not like. It was pretty tasteless. The outdoor seating is nice (if you don't have a 103 degree day like we had). Not their fault as we are in pandemic mode. The wine list is great and a bottle of Bernardus Chardonnay is always a nice touch with lunch.

Everything was well done, cuisine and service and ambiance.
But the price was on the high side, Filet for $48!!

Great ambiance sitting out on the deck viewing the Santa Lucia mountains. Server Dave is among the best and quite knowledgeable with the wines. Excellent cuisine.

We love this place and come back every year for our anniversary. The food lived up to our expectations, unfortunately Covid has struck again by evidently taking away linens and exceptional service. Our waiter and staff was wonderful but not enough of them to allow for their normal five star service.
We will be back after Covid is behind us.
