Lupo Restaurant & Vinoteca
Great as always. 3 prawn seafood pasta was a little fishy but overall it was great food.
Fantastic little place! Went there on the recommendation of a friend and it did not disappoint. Staff was very friendly and made some great suggestions both for food and wines. Everything we had was delicious, and the space was lovely and charming. I would highly recommend this for a romantic dinner.
Very few people in the restaurant so I expect the noise level might have been higher. 4 old friends catching up. Table was by the fire which was nice Service was good.
Started with antipasto for the 4 of us. Good range of meat, really great pickled vegetables but could have used a bit more. Had to ask for bread which surprised me.
I had the special veal shop which was excellent. DH had the lamb shank which he said was "pedestrian", blah. (TBH I make an excellent lamb shank so he does have a point of comparison). Other companions had the agnolotti special which they both said was "very good".
Capuccino's were excellent. Pear tart was excellent. Canolli were overly sweet... couldn't tell if they were stuffed with sweet cream or mascarpone. Presentation of all food was right on point.
Would go back but would stick with the specials of the day as opposed to the main menu..either that or the pasta. Previously have always had the pasta here which is generally excellent.
Hope they make it through the next 4 weeks.....
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at Lupo's this last weekend. It was just the sort of place we were looking for...intimate without being too stuffy. The service personnel were spot on in being there to help but not obtrusive. We started with a bread plate that came with some of the finest, smoothest olive oil we have ever had! After that, we split the Buffalo mozzarella (excellent!) and then came the entree...simply delicious. I had the Calabrese style rabbit ragout Pappardelle and my wife had the smoked free range chicken Cannelloni. My Pappardelle was full of the most tender rabbit meat I've ever had...all with some tender (al dente) green Pappardelle noodles. Wonderful! In my wife's Cannelloni, the smoked chicken was just to die for. Finally, we split a Caneloni for dessert...also first class.
The service was great as noted above, the ambiance was low key (i.e. you could carry on a conversation without shouting), there were no sports games on overhead TVs and the layout of the restaurant (in an older converted two story house) lends to a romantic evening. A place we'd highly recommend if you have some time to spend in Vancouver BC!
The food is delicious, servers very polite and helpful. The overall experience was very positive. Highly recommended for dates, special occasions and business meals.
We definitely were not happy with our server we were not offered cheese from our server unlike other tables , our pasta looked completely different from what was for pictures on social media. We were told that the pasta changes but this was only few months ago . Also the food came out really slow the appetizers came out quick but after that it was a good 35 minutes before the next course came out.
Overall we came for a late valentines day dinner it was our first time here but I don’t think we would be coming back for the price i paid I would’ve expected better service .
Food was good service was bad
Wonderful food and service as usual. A little noisy if there is a big group in the small space.
Our second time at Lupo and did not disappoint us. A very quiet place for dinner and I felt I am eating in my house. I love the ambiance with the setting in an old house. The food is superb. We did not have pasta this time which was delicious. It was nice to have small portions which I am able to split with my husband. All in all, you love Italian food I will gladly recommend Lupo.
Amazing customer service and food. Highly recommend for special nights!
Food, wine and service were all exceptional! Would definitely go back.
As our reservation was a little later in the evening we opted to have only a second and the pastas were delicious! Linguini vongoli was tasty, lots of clams and pasta cooked just right. Bolognese sauce on perfect al dente was also excellent. Service was well paced and helpful.
Excellent, our first time but not our last!
Love Lupo - one of my favourite spots for dinner!
Great food friendly service. The specials where outstanding.
My husband and I have dined twice at Lupo's in the past 6 weeks. It was so good we had to go again. This is special restaurant where the food is excellent, the servers really care and love what they do and the setting is in a beautiful house that is warm and welcoming. It's a great place for a romantic dinner or spending time with friends. We look forward to dining at this special place again.
My wife and I had a lovely evening. Food and service were excellent. We will return in the near future.
One of my favourites in Vancouver. Great for date night or to treat out-of-towners.
Loved this place! the food was wonderful. A bit expensive.
Staff was very nice and the food was delicious. Excellent service.
Wonderful place, nice service with good food! I definitely will go there aging also recommended to people dating there it’s a romantic place
I'll be back . We have been making it a tradition to go to Lupo while in Vancouver.
Definitely a place to go! Food is excellent and service as well. Wines prices are a bit above the expected for the particular one.
Great food and incredible value! However when fully booked the restaurant was a bit noisy, otherwise everything was super.
Amazing staff, incredible food and an excellent evening all around. Definitely will be back and highly recommend!
Excellent food and service. However only hic was that on arrival we were presented with a reduced menu, not the full menu that we were expecting. We booked through Open Table, and something should have been said at the time of booking that only a reduced menu was available (because the Valentine dinners on the two precious days were too much for the staff......?) However we were consoled by the delicious food still on offer and a very friendly and accommodating staff.
Fabulous experience, ambiance (cozy house and fireplace), friendly service, and delicious courses. Really happy with our choice of restaurant; high quality food and attentive friendly service (Lanka was excellent!).
Pre opera dining and chose the restaurant because I had been there once before and the food was exquisite. I needed to bring my friends to experience this delightful culinary experience and they were totally blown away. You’ll see us again. The location was also a plus so close to Queeny and Rosedale hotel. Thanks for a wonderful culinary experience!
Simply the best. Love it here.
Experience and meal were excellent. Only criticism is that staff were a little too attentive. I was asked how I liked my meal before I tasted it and throughout the meal, asked numerous times. A little too attentive, but clearly there is pride in the experience and the food that is being served.
Food was delicious. Noise in the 2nd room was so great that we couldnt hear the specials. Intimate 2 and 4 person tables but the sound carries in the room so we could clearly hear the conversation of the table in the furthest corner. Waitress seemed very keen to take our initial order asking several times in the first 5 minutes but then seemed to forget about us after this. Can give the place the benefit of the doubt. Would likely go back as food was very good.
Lupo never disappoints! From the starter homemade focaccia all the way to the tiramisu for dessert, it’s all exceptional. We always have the fettuccini with white truffles and of course the buratta flown in from a specific region of Italy where the cows eat a special grass fed diet. We’ve eaten at restaurants all over the world and Lupo is the best! So grateful it’s in our home city! Thank you to all the staff for your amazing service.
