Mago Grill & Cantina - Arlington Heights
It was always of of my favorite restaurants. Never got disappointed. Great service and food.
Sat outside. Service and food were amazing. Tables were nicely spaced. Did not have to wait long for the food. Was our first time on a date since having our baby; was overall a great night!
Our server was great -- very helpful and patient with our requests. Because of the location, eating alfresco is very pleasant as opposed to other locations in town where it is more congested. Absolutely recommend!
Do not recommend the margaritas as they are made from a pre-mix and aren’t appetizing - but everything else cannot be beat 👌🏽
Great food and service. Highly recommend.
Very nice outdoors dining in Arlington Heights. Great dining experience.
Good was excellent and a fantastice menu. The Margaritas are the best. Will be back soon
I love having the option of outdoor seating! Even if there was no quarantine, I like being outside at restaurants. Dynamic menu, with masterful recipes! A "must try" if in downtown Arlighton Heights.
Good table side Guac, drinks, and interesting food options
Outside dining was fun and the menu had many unique and tasty dishes. With 3 women friends we were able to relax, eat, and talk without distraction.
Service and food was wonderful. We love Mago! Will definitely return again.
The food is always delicious and so fresh. Staff is very friendly and margaritas are wonderful!
We really enjoyed dinner! Service was a bit slow but I think that is more deliberate than not attentive. The tableside quac was amazing.
Very good food! The fresh table made guacamole is awesome!!
Great food and service!!
Very loud, food and drinks were ok. Service was nice. Overall this place didn’t wow me in anyway. Good for quick bite to eat.
The food and service was outstanding. I didn't give it a 5 star because the noise level is too high, it was hard to have a conversation.
Food is always great! Service has been lacking the past few times I’ve been here. The servers have been either overly pushy and definitely rushed. Sometimes we weren’t don’t ordering things and they walked away. Appetizer plates were left all over the table when entrees were served. And when food was delivered the food runner wasn’t delivering by seat numbers and reached in front of me (like right in my face with a hot plate) to deliver it to the person on the other side of the table. As someone who served for years until very recently, something needs to be done to better the standard of service here. However, the food is always great and it’s a good location for us to meet family and friends halfway.
Great Mexican style restaurant, very delicious food.
great atmosphere. delightful service. no wait as we had reservations prior to theater. the food was very good. Peach sangria was wonderful and will think of it as a spot to just stop for a drink even if not for dinner.
Enjoy Mago’s...food and service was great! But the noise level on a Sat night was deafening...couldn’t catch up with our friends...
We love Mago! Thank you to Sergio and his staff for making us feel like VIP's! We are frequent patrons at Mago, and we love their menu. I need to eat gluten free, and Mago has a wonderful menu for me! Thank you!
Chicken fajitas at lunch were $18. They were very good but that’s overpriced!
Easy to determine which items were gluten free. Our guacamole was amazing, and our server was attentive.
We always enjoy our visits to Mago! Food, atmosphere and service are always great.
Best place in Downtown AH without a doubt. We have been here 50+ times since it opened. Try the fajitas, will not disappoint.
We had reservations for Valentines Day at 6 pm. Our server was Meliton and he was great. He was very patient with me as he explained the difference between mole sauce and salsa. He made several recommendations which we followered and had a delicious meal. When he noticed that I was looking at salmon, he pointed out a few different offerings the restaurant had and recommended the salmon with mole. It was amazing. My husband had chicken fajitas which he enjoyed very much. Our meal and our experience were very nice. I should mention that when we arrived, the place was very crowded and we were seated at a tiny narrow table inches away from the tables on either side of us. I was trying not to be upset, it was Valentine's Day and I should have known it would be crowded. I couldn't hear my husband, but I could hear the stranger I was closer to. I asked the hostess if we could move, and without any problem at all, we were moved to a larger table. I was afraid I might be treated like a prima donna, but that just didn't happen. It seemed to me like the restaurant wanted us to be comfortable. The manager, the hostess and our waiter Meliton all had excellent customer service.
We've been to this place several times over the years. I've always liked it but it seems to get better with each visit. As I mentioned, this last time was Valentines Day. It usually isn't quite as crowded or as loud, but having said that, it was fine. Once we were moved, my husband and I had plenty of room and we could hear each other just fine.
Delicious food and attentive service. Will dine here again!!
Great food excellent service
The food and the service were excellent! Highly recommend!
Very flavorful food and well-presented. We were not in the main dining room, which was good, because it was not noisy and we could carry on a conversation. A little on the expensive side for Mexican food, but we both enjoyed our dishes. Tres Leches cake for dessert was delicious and plenty for 2 to share.
Excellent food and friendly service. We went in. the winter time, so I am excited to go back in warmer weather to enjoy the entire area!
We met 2 other couples here for dinner on a Friday night. The first two people to arrive (early) were seated right away, which is nice. Restaurant was relatively quiet, but it picked up as we dined.
We enjoyed the guac prepared table side; our entrees were delicious. Two of us ordered one of the specials-short ribs with artichokes and black beans-it was fabulous.
Service was great, server upbeat and helpful with suggestions but not pushy. We will definitely go back!
Thanks for the birthday wishes
The food was fresh, the service was outstanding, but I thought it was expensive. Each course is a la cart, cocktails are expensive. Just because your price point is the same as neighboring restaurants doesn't mean it should be. I'll go back, but not often, there are plenty of Mexican food choices that are equal in taste and are much more affordable.
Family gathering and the Margaritas were flowing. Food was long wait.
Very good, authentic. Excellent quality and large portions.
Sometimes it is noisy but the food and drinks are delicious
