Mar Belo

A first visit to this restaurant which I had passed by many times. I was extremely pleased that my Friend and I finally went here for dinner. It was excellent! Everything you'd expect from a Portuguese-Spanish menu in an upscale ambiance. No longer do I have to travel to Ironbound Newark as Mar Bello will more than suffice with their fine cuisine!

Service was impeccable. Food was amazing. Overall a great meal

EXCELLENT service, appetizers, Sangria and entrees. ALWAYS a good meal . This is a must visit for us while in the Long Branch area.

We had 2 very impressive Filet Mignons which were like butter grilled to perfection. Paul always gets the best meat and the service is awesome. I highly recommend this place !

Second time coming here and this time we brought our close friends to experience the fine dining and atmosphere. Everyone lived the place and the many selections on the menu.
Will definitely be back for third very soon.

Always a good meal. I have been here many times and recommended it to a lot of people. Paella over the top and enough for 2 people. Grilled baby octopus was excellent. Service is always fast and friendly. Will be back and continue to recommend. Also, try the white sangria. And dessert if you have room!!

I’ve been coming to mar Bello, for the better part of the summer, I’ve Benn here with just 2 people to a party of 4 and a party of 8, all of my friends, family members who have never been here before said they will all come back, as far as my own experience goes? I’ve never had a bad experience nor a bad dish , that’s why I keep coming back, the food is always consistent, the service is always great, the sangria is delicious and the paella continues to come out of the kitchen, just right, I will continue to come and bring friends over , I know I will not be disappointed

Food quality was not up to par. Chicken in paella was very dry and the lobster had a freezer burn taste. This was first time I let lobster in my dish. The bread and olives and octopus was delicious. I was disappointed.

The food is always great and consistent. The service is always top-notch. The wait staff is always checking on us, but don't overwhelm you with their presence.

Great, welcoming service, the selections on the menu are varied and interesting, and the food itself is excellent. Also appreciated that they had a real kids menu selections with a real sizable steak and fries. I tend to go with seafood and really like the mussels appetizer and the mussels appetizer. Highly recommend.

We love Mar Belo and more now thatWe were able to eat inside. We brought another couple with us who never ate here before and they loved it as well. The food was tasty, hearty and a great value. The sangria is fantastic. We didn’t have room for dessert but hopefully next time.

We went to celebrate my hubby’s 50th birthday, of which I notified the restaurant ahead of time. Nothing special was done, nor was it acknowledged in any way. I had to whisper to another waiter to bring out the dessert with a candle, and they ended up giving it to our son.

Now onto service and food. Our waiter barely spoke English, and none of us at the table was able to understand him, even though English isn’t our first language either. No info on the specials, or their regular menu. Food was mediocre at best, we ordered halibut, and it was dry and fatty at the same time with a not so tasty sauce. Seafood dishes lacked flavor, and their paella was disappointing to say the least. The only good dish was the Portuguese steak.

I wanted to share the disappointment with the manager, however they were nowhere to be found.

The food at Mar Belo has always been good. I always liked the filet mignon and on this evening I decided to order the Red Snapper. Not a good choice. It was obviously right out of the freezer (small piece) with little flavor. The Risoto was under cooked and not impressive. Everything else for very nice but for future quests, I would say, stay away from the Red Snapper. They have much better dishes

Best food in Monmouth County!

Delicious food and reasonably priced !!

We had a reservation through Open Table. However, we had to wait about 20 minutes for our table and we weren’t seated in the main dining area. Instead we were seated along the walk to the main dining area. Therefore, customers, waiters, greeters were constantly walking past us. So needless to say, we were very unhappy/disappointed with our seating arrangement even though we had a reservation. The food was delicious and our waiter was very nice.

We’ve never been disappointed with the quality of food and service. We did indoor dining and all tables were socially distanced. Our cocktails were excellent. Mar Belo is a great value. We live approximately 1 hour away but Mar Belo is worth the ride.

Very happy with food. Octopus appetizer, skirt steak & rack lamb done perfectly. Very tender.

Always enjoy our time at Mar Belo. Romantic atmosphere, excellent and Sangria and quality food. My husband wants to go back again this weekend.

Normal dinner nothing special, would make no accommodations such as white potatoes for sweet potatoes!

Mar Belos is always a great choice for dinner. We have never had a bad experience. The food is always delicious and the service superb. Sangrias are a great choice for a tasty beverage.
