   ２年前にディナーに行った時は大満足だったのですが、今回のランチはもの凄くレベルが落ちていて、何かあったのか？と心配になるほどでした。まず、サービスが、一人の女性を除いて最悪。見習いのような男女が数名いるのですが、日本人だから馬鹿にしているのか？と疑いたくなるくらい酷かったです。ぞんざいなお皿の置き方、雑なワインの注ぎ方、お料理の説明すら最初は無かったし… 途中でMarcus本人がフロアに登場したので、ちょっと苦言をと思ったのに、Marcus本人も常連さんと会話するだけで、我々のテーブルには目もくれない、というお粗末な態度。これでは、今後誰にも推薦出来ませんね。残念。 次世代のシェフたちのお料理を頂きましたが、やはりどれも締まりがなくて、その上、サービスが最悪とくれば、印象は悪くなるばかりでした。 客層も悪く、どこぞのアジア人は一人で食べつつ、スマホから生中継の動画配信をしていました！ お店って、こんなに堕落してしまうのですね。 痛感しました。

   Absolutely fabulous. Exquisite food, beautifully designed and presented, elegant and delicious. Wonderful service, polite and attentive without being over the top, just calmly efficient. All in a lovely spacious dining room, quiet and luxurious. Expensive, but worth it. Top quality always comes at a price.

   The food was original and very good. The wine was good but too expensive. Overall if I had to recommend the restaurant I'd definitely say yes for the food but warn about the value for money

    There are 3 choices: 5 and 7 course tasting menus and a 3 course a la carte which we had (typical price £120 plus 13.5% service). There are only 3 choices for each course, none of which are vegetarian, so I think the choice is a bit limited as 4 choices would be normal (for a non pre-theatre menu). The amuse bouche of 3 small items is very pleasant. I had the mackeral and my wife had the quail - mine had a strange mixture of flavours that I didn't particularly like but she loved hers. For the main, we both had the beef which was small but very good. The accompanying potatoe had a strange granola like texture which neither of us liked. We both had the chocolate desert which was very good. We have been here before and we feel the chef has lost his way a bit by trying to be different and marry unusual flavours and textures together. If you have been here you will know that the wine is very expensive - I spotted one wine that was priced about 7 times its cost. I'm happy to accept the really high prices if everything is outstanding, but on this occasion I don't think it was. The one exception was the service which was excellent.

    I had a business lunch and had looked ahead to chose an option which I thought wouldn't be too expensive and was pleasantly surprised to see a 3 course set menu for £60 per head. I had a look on line to see if I could find a drinks list and couldn't but went ahead with the booking anyway. The food and service was very good but once you had added the drink to the bill it ended up being over £320 which was a bit of a surprise. We had 2 glasses of fizz, a bottle of the cheaper red wine and the two cheapest dessert wines. It was perhaps a little naive when I thought the meal would come to between £200-250. I couldn't fault the food or service but the bill just tainted the experience.

    We booked dinner for my partner's birthday. We had a great banquette seat with a view across the dining room. We opted for the tasting menu and some wine recommendations from the sommelier. All the dishes were very good with some being really delicious. The wine recommendations were excellent. Overall it was a special meal for a special occasion.

    It is always disappointing when the chef on whom the reputation of the restaurant has been built is no longer there. The food was delicious the service superb and the prices exorbitant which are presumably predicated on a Michelin starred chef running the kitchen. Sat Baines is always at his restaurant which is how it should be. A lesson learned.

    We booked to go to Marcus as it was my husband’s 50th birthday and I knew that we wouldn’t be disappointed as we have been before. The head pastry chef made our day special by following through with my special request. Every moment was special at our experience dining at Marcus

    We attended as a couple for my wife’s birthday. We had the 7 course tasting menu which was divine. We accompanied the food with Chateau Charlemagne and Guardo Al Tasso. There was no wine pairing option, and the Al a carte menu was not available. This is now normal for Saturdays. . Notwithstanding the restrictions this was a very high standard meal with friendly and efficient service.

    This was my second visit to Marcus, my first dinner and tasting menu there. I have an allergy to garlic which I made the team aware of prior to my visit. I could see that one dish on the tasting menu had garlic and I was keen to see if I could have that dish without. In fact, Chef prepared three courses for me separate to the standard menu to accommodate my allergy - above and beyond anything I was expecting - and they were all delicious. We were also doing the wine pairing with the meal and, again, I had different wines to pair with my individual dishes. The evening was wonderful, the service and food was exceptional, the ambience delightful and I can highly recommend Marcus to anyone wanting a quality dining experience.

    I thought the whole experience was underwhelming. We had the tasting menu. The food was good but nothing more. The main I could have cooked at home myself and the dessert lacked any wow factor and just tasted of chocolate. The wine pairing was average. The service was overly fussy and exaggerated bordering on being annoying. You couldn’t have a chat for more than 30 seconds before someone interrupted you. The ambiance was non existent although it was fairly quiet and less than half full. Overall, a disappointing experience and won’t be going back.

    Marcus was nothing short of spectacular. From start to finish you are treated like not royalty; this is far too stiff and formal, but more like that fun uncle or aunt you had growing up, the one you always wanted to be around and would do anything for. You have the staff's complete attention who are not only friendly and swift but personable and funny. We went for the 7 course tasting menu (rounded off with an added tarte tatin because it would be incredibly uncouth not to) with sommelier's selection and it certainly did not disappoint. The refinement of every dish was a work of art; how one elevates a baked potato was never a question on my mind however the answer is now never far from my mind as for me this was the triumph of the evening. Each course was an adventure in taste from bold to subtle flavours and very intelligent in skill and delivery. This wasn't a menu scrawled out on the back of a napkin but a love story delicately and meticulously planned for all to enjoy. Each pairing was a perfect match and took us on a journey across the globe which by the end had our legs wobbling from all that travelling! To summarise, Marcus had the feel and service of a family run restaurant where they take pride and great pleasure in serving you. The kitchen I believe to be a coalition of top level chefs and magicians and this wasn't just a culinary masterclass it was also a little magical.

    Wasn’t blown away by the whole dining experience & this was nothing to do with my date ! I know it’s Mayfair & restaurants are expensive but for the money it just doesn’t cut it ! My date is an experienced chef & said the same thing, on the + side service brilliant but unfortunately we won’t be returning.

    This was a gift for my husband, 4 course lunch with wines did not disappoint! We had to rush back to our car and babysitter otherwise we would have relished the experience for longer. Everything outstanding!! No doubt we'll return at some point

    It was our first time at Marcus. From the staff to the atmosphere it was amazing. The food was unbelievable, we had the 7 course taste of Marcus menu - wow. Loved every second. We can’t wait to go back.

    We visited on the occasion of our 30th anniversary. We have visited several times before and this time did not disappoint. The food, as always, was amazing, but it is the staff who really are the stars of this restaurant. They seem to have the instinct to know just when something is required, or not quite right. We were made to feel like VIPS, as I am sure everybody else did too! Looking forward to our next visit already.
