Brandy Cream Scallops

The menu selection is large and varied. Because we were there early, no one else was in the restaurant and it was quiet. The service was also very good.
Food was delicious and great value for the quality.
We were seated right away and our server was over to our table soon after sitting. She was personable, professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the food options. She checked back periodically to see if we need anything or had any questions.
We enjoyed our meal.
Most everyone had positive things to say about their main courses.
Our serve was attentive, although at times it seems as though she may have been overwhelmed and could have benefitted from someone to assist with filling waters, especially since 5 of the 7 people at our table were only drinking water.
Our main complaint was that there was no cole slaw and no macaroni salad served with the fish fry dinners.
We were told that "the kitchen just ran out" and while we understand how that can happen we were surprised how relatively early (7:30pm) those two popular side dishes were not available on the first Friday of Lent.
Were there no other options available? The people who ordered the fish fry dinners instead were just given "extra" French fries, when maybe a different type of side salad could have been offered once it was realized the cole slaw an macaroni salad supplies had run out?
We will be back, but perhaps not on a Friday until after the Lenten season.
Pleasant dining experience and as always, plenty of friendly people working and dining.
Recommend reservations. Great service, good food at a reasonable price. Highly recommend for dinner or lunch.
Excellent value. Great locations in the Billage of Hamburg. Outstanding service really great food.
This was our first time to Mason's and we were not disappointed. The serving staff was polite and attentive despite it being a busy holiday. The menu selection was incredible with the wide variety of specials and standard fare. The rib eye steak I had was seasoned and cooked to perfection. My wife's dish was perfect as well. The dessert the ultimate 7-layer chocolate cake was incredible! The owner/manager checked with every table and took the time to chat. I highly recommend this place as it is excellent in all categories including reasonable pricing for the style of restaurant that it is.
My food was cold. I asked for cream sauce on the side was on top of the chicken. Received only 3 pieces on cold bread. Ordered an appetizer no plates came with the appetizer. Was very tight wear we sat felt claustrophobic at the table. Rating a 2. Took a while to get refill on drinks as well. Expensive meal for what we received
This is one of our favorite restaurants so we wanted to come for Valentines Day. Service was excellent and the food was exceptional.
Here for Valentine’s Day and birthday. Great time.
Great local restaurant with delicious food and nice atmosphere
Nice place to go if you actually want to be able to talk with your table mates! Not noisy like so many places, even though they were busy!
As always, the service was excellent, the noise level was perfect, the food and drinks were excellent. It is always nice to spend time here and always see friends that we know.
My friend and I had a wonderful time at Mason’s. Our server was delightful and the food was delicious. I am looking forward to returning!
Always liked the food, service and ambiance here over the years. Hadn’t been in a while and 4 of us went for a fish fry. We were a bit disappointed as the beer battered fish was a bit greasier than ever before and the pasta salad seemed a bit too heavy on the garlic. Also disappointed that there was no verbal mention to us about the $2.00 up charge for the sweet potato fries. Will probably go again but not for a while and not for the fish fry.
very good food. Will definitely go back! My waitress was super nice and accommodating.
I didn’t realize how tight the seating would be. I felt like I was eating with the next table. We wanted to have a romantic dinner and it was not here that we found it. Our chairs kept getting bumped into by wait staff. Needless to say not going to do a romantic dinner here ever again. I will say for the most part the food was good.
Admittedly, New Year's Eve is a bad night to judge a restaurant, but Mason's was not up to the task. Slow service (clearly understaffed), undercooked steak, and a dessert advertised as flan that was actually a pecan pie. I'll still be back on a normal night.
The food was good, but they were understaffed. It appeared they didn't expect the volume for a Sunday night.
Nice local establishment with good food and a great ambiance Definitely a return place
Friendly staff, prompt service and moderately priced food. For the money, I would say this place is worth a try.
We are frequent patrons of Mason’s. The servers are friendly and efficient. The food is high quality. The wait time is short. The prices are reasonable. We continue to be impressed with this establishment. They also serve a great Buffalo fish fry!
Always have a wonderful meal at Mason's Grille! Everyone is so friendly and the service is excellent.
Delicious food, great menu with lots of variety, and great quality and value.
Excellent food in a relaxed setting. I would definitely go back.
As always, the service was excellent--drinks, food, ambiance. And nice and quiet, as well!
The staff is always so friendly and accommodating! The Parmesan Risotto was awesome!
We love the atmosphere in the bar area!
Nice place. Was quite at 5pm. Good food but a little on the salty side. Overall a nice place to go for a dinner. Did not have any dessert.
We went for restaurant week and there was good and bad. The service was excellent. Our waitress Marlene was very friendly and suggested chocolate martinis for me and my sister in law and they were by far the best chocolate martinis I've ever had. My husband's beer glass still had lipstick on it 😞 and the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. The place could definitely use an update. I ordered the
twin filet Oscar and it was....ok....the steak was cooked as a medium but was slightly cool in the center and a Iittle chewy. The lobster hollandaise on top that I was looking forward to was good tasting but the lobster was shredded to the point that you barely even knew it was there. For those reasons I think it was definitely overpriced. We would maybe go back for drinks at the bar and an app but not for dinner.
Since it was Restaurant Week we were hoping for a better dining experience overall but the food and service proved to be mediocre at best. This was our first time eating here and the choice to visit was based on what appeared to be great reviews. I’m not sure these positive reviews were for the same place, because I can’t even give 3 stars for any part of the experience. The server was inattentive and slow with drinks and food. She also knew nothing about the kids menu, which comes with a drink and a sundae. She charged us extra for the drink and forgot the sundae. We had to ask for both issues to be addressed. Also, the steak was overdone (and certainly overpriced,) and all the food was bland. We will not be returning, especially after visiting when it should be any local restaurant’s time to shine. On a positive note, the owner/manager listened to our concerns and attempted to fix things for us. However, we won’t be going back.
As always, the food and service was excellent! We always enjoy our time at Mason's.
Maybe restaurant week through them off, but service and food quality just wasn't there. Waited forever for drinks, food and check - and it wasn't worth it.
Food was very good. Service was quick. Looking forward to going back.
We dined at Mason's on a Wednesday during local restaurant week. The dinner selections were wonderful and an outstanding value. The quality of the food and the service were excellent. The dining room was a bit noisy but not unbearable (lots of folks enjoying the restaurant week specials). We enjoyed ourselves and will go back in the future.
I had to ask to be served 😒. I think they could have used 1 more waitress and someone else In the kitchen.. Food took a while to come out as well
Service super slow....ruined our dining experience. Under staffed and the customer pays for it
Came for the last day of Restaurant Week and it was packed, thus the higher noise level. As always the food was wonderful. Seafood Brunswick with their red pepper bisque. They do seafood right here, but need to get a steak on my next visit. Love this place, it's on my list of favorites.
A friend and I had these two dishes for restuarant week. I really enjoyed the Veal Milanese. It wasn't overbreaded or greasy. I liked that the cheese came separately. It didn't make me feel stuffed. I felt just right after eating this meal. The garlic mashed potatoes were very good! It came with thin but wide zucchini slices. Everything went together nicely. The server was very personable. I would recommend this restuarant.
Hand breaded, pan seared tender veal cutlets finished with fresh mozzarella and arugula then drizzled with a balsamic reduction With choice of potato and seasonal vegetables 20.19
Fillet of haddock, black tiger shrimp and sea scallops broiled in a Norfolk butter and old bay sauce then oven baked with a crisp panko crumb With choice of potato and seasonal vegetables 20.19
Service was really slow. They had one waitress for the entire dining room and she said there was only one cook in the kitchen. We got there at 5:30 and didn't leave until 7:30 and there were only two of us in our party. The food was alright, but nothing that would make me want to go back again.
Our server was excellent. She was clearly well trained, made frequent eye contact and was friendly.
It was quite loud up front with the trivia but those who were participating clearly were having fun.
Damon and his crew run a top-notch operation.
We've dined here several times and plan to return in the near future!
I waited a few days before posting this because I sincerely hate to leave a bad review but this is just a heads up for anyone wanting to head to Masons. They have new staff that is very new to the dining experience and with that statement, expect challenges. My before dinner cocktail (top shelf gin and tonic) was served in a mason jar with a plastic straw. First time ever! When I asked for it to be changed to an appropriate glass I was told that the bar was low on glasses - seriously, it was 6:30 p.m. Friday at happy hour. And a glance at other tables showed that others were receiving their drinks in the appropriate glasses. When she did bring my drink back, it was in a very small glass (obviously dumped from the previous larger jar - with no explanation as to where the other half of my drink went. And I was charged for the full drink! Next, even though I mentioned on Open Table that it was date night, we were still seated next to a large party with three screaming children (all under the age of 3 and who really should have been left home). If a restaurant wants to have family events, they really need to screen the problems from the other patrons instead of expecting diners to just ignore the noise. As for dinner, our waitress never offered us a choice of sides for our dinner however other tables were offered choices and when our dinner came, she had unbelievable decided that we were getting french fries. Wow! And finally I ordered a glass of sauvignon blanc wine to have with my dinner and not only did I receive the wrong white, there was no offer to exchange the wine for the requested wine. I also confirmed on the bill that she had in fact served me the wrong wine. I hate to say it will be quite some time before I try this local restaurant again. Yes they were busy. Yes they were new staff. But honestly I did see the owner there and he never made a move to stop by our table so I could share my problems, simply waved from across the room.
