Max Dale's Steak & Chop House
If you want a 5 star restaurant in Skagit County, Max Dales is the place to go. The food was amazing, Full bar, excellent wine list, friendly staff and great service.
Great service; great food; definitely worth it.
We had a wonderful experience. Great wait staff and the food was excellent!!
Great service great food.
This was the 1st time dining at Max Dale's restaurant.
I took my 4 young adult kids and we all loved our food (Prime Rib, NY Steak, & 3 orders of Scallops).
Salad was fresh & entree's were delicious.
We also had 3 great desserts.
Service was excellent!
Food was some of the worst restaurant food I have ever had. Calamari was totally tasteless. Broccoli was overcooked to mush. fried oysters hard and over cooked. Green salad limp. The prime rib was ok and my son said his hamburger was good. Service was excellent. The prices were outrageous.
It was great food and service. A good house merlot. We went there for our anniversary with friends and had a great time.
We had a group of 8. Service started slow but picked up once someone told the staff we were in a secluded area in the back of the restaurant. Drinks then food came out timely. Appetizers and entrees were both good, but not great. Presentation of entrees with sauces was very sloppy. One of our group had a steak with a lot of gristle. Desserts were good, but, again, sloppy presentation. All said we would still go back.
Intimate. Wonderful food. ............ccccccccccccc.
We have hosted birthday dinners here for family members over at least 18 years. Service & food are usually good to very good. This time the prime rib was not good at all...very chewy...not tender. Tho the service was good, the meat was a significant enough issue to make us think twice before hosting the next dinner at this restaurant. Hopefully it was just a one time problem.
Arrived at the reservation time and still had to wait, very slow in getting meal, ordered and had to wait 50 minutes until the food arrived.
been here many times over the years, and this time I was unimpressed by the service level. Drinks didn't arrive, not much follow up on our food, water, even bread. My sister suggested that we should have went to outback, but I didn't want to take her to a chain restaurant. Maybe I should have.
This place never fails to please. Top quality ingredients, cooked to perfection and served by efficient, unobtrusive servers. Prices are on the high side, but worth it in my opinion. This is our go-to place for celebrations like birthdays and anniversaries since we moved into the Skagit Valley. We will return.
Customer service was awesome. Our dinner was excellent with a fantastic dessert. Very quiet and private. ❤
Great dining experience, we were visiting and found this restaurant online. You honestly never know what to expect, but the food, service and ambiance was superb.
Max Dale's has been one of my favorites for many years. However, the new menu is very expensive, and they would make no accommodations for smaller appetites. There is no petite steak ,no senior menu, and few healthy options for someone on a special diet. The quality of the food was excellent, but the price outweighs it because you have to pay for twice as much food as you need.
A great place to go. Quiet atmosphere, really good food, perfect service. I've been there before and it was the same then. I only wish it wasn't so far away from where we live,, but then it wouldn't be the birthday treat that it is.
Thank you for another enjoyable dining experience.
Max Dale's is my favorite restaurant and we dine out EVERY night. It is our "go to" place for celebrations. We just celebrated our 50th anniversary, and our server, Maddie made our experience by special. She took several pictures for us and her service was excellent. My husband is a prime rib fan and prefers Max Dale's to all prime rib served in our area, Whatcom County. Their halibut recipe is superb! A complimentary dessert of ice cream and Northwest berries made the perfect ending to our meal.
we enjoy prime rib, and max dales has the best of anyone
I really like Max Dale’s. I don’t downgrade my stars because it is outdated, because the booths are still comfortable and roomy, and private, which keeps the noise level low. The service is very good. They have very good cuts of meat, which were done just to our liking. Salads are generous and very fresh. I really enjoyed my filet with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Others at our table for 4 also were very happy with their experience.
Best restaurant in Skagit county.
What wonderful service! From making the reservation to calling to confirm and modifying it to add more people, the Max Dales customer service representatives were always friendly and very helpful! Food was delicious and service was phenomenal.
Food was awesome. The service was extraordinary. The ambience was fantastic. People were friendly and I saw value everywhere. What once was a very popular place in the 70s needs to have a resurgence because it is a great place. I will go there again.
This resturant is over priced for the quality of the food and service. I paid 30 dollars for a top sirloin with chimichurri sauce. The steak was hard around the edges and rare in the middle and the sauce was barely a smear on top. The potato , though loaded was cool inside and not cooked throughout. 18 dollars for the burger. However, the bacon on that was good. I have no plans to go back. Not to mention our c.c. # was hijacked from this place.
Loved the spaciousness and privateness. Very quiet. Got our table right away. A bit dark inside.
Mother’s Day Brunch was in the bar area. Had the brunch in prior years. Would like to see salads offered with the breakfast/brunch items as well as a drink (champagne or OJ) for the price of $35 a plate.
I can see the restaurant’s appeal if you are local. If not, it wouldn’t be your first choice.
Fun restaurant with interesting yesteryear character. Food was good. Would recommend. A little pricey, but it we had a birthday celebration -)
The steak was delicious. I liked making reservations online. The service wasnt as good as it has been in the past. No drink coasters created a mess on the table. Waitress didnt seem to notice it. She only stopped to check on us once & was very brief when she delivered our food. We saw the bus boy more than the waitress. Overall the prices are going up & out pricing the meal.
Enjoyed a birthday dinner at Max Dales. The steaks weren't quite as good as we'd expected (pretty chewy) but the taste was very good and they were perfectly adequate. Sides were great. Service was efficient. We'd go back again.
The food was good and the service was also. Drinks were too. Can’t say I’m ever really dissatisfied here.
Food was good. Place was huge, but you feel like you could be at a country barn. Needs updating inside and out. Liked the privacy of the booths
After living here for three years, my husband and I decided to try this restaurant for our anniversary. To be honest, we weren't that impressed. I ordered the pork chop with garlic mashed potatoes. The pork chop was delicious but the potatoes were too lumpy. My husband ordered the prime rib which he did not care for, at all. The outer crust was inedible. He liked the mashed potatoes more than I did. Our server was fine - wasn't that impressed with her. Wasn't very talkative. Would we come back? No. Unless a restaurant really wowed us, we rarely return.
Went for my husbands birthday. Food was really good and our entrees came with salad. They also make a really good martini! We really liked the big booths and they comped dessert for my husbands birthday.
We have enjoyed lunches and dinners there for over thirty years. The interior setup is great with booths offering privacy for diners. The online reservation system was easy to use and worked great.
The service as usual was top notch with friendly and attentive staff. The food however - was not.
I ordered the seared scallops and sauteed mushrooms. The mushrooms were essentially tasteless and were not even close to what we enjoyed during previous visits. The scallops were not firm and were to the point of being mushy. The green been side was tasteless as well.
We enjoyed several servings of bread and hard butter which did serve to make up some of the difference. The wine list could use an overhaul. While there were many selections, it has been our experience that many of these flowery wine descriptions don't provide an accurate depiction of how the wine actually tastes once it arrives in the glass. The house rose offering was unavailable.
The wife ordered fried prawns with a baked potato side and reported no complaints.
Brant our server was excellent. We highly recommend you request his section.
Food was good. Ambiance can use updating. Service was great. Value for money not quite..!
Your place is one of my favorite ! I have been going to Max Dale's since before it burned many years ago!
My favorite dish was the Open Face Crab sandwich, but I don't see it on the menu anymore! I am 89 years old and I will continue to enjoy your facility! Thank You !
weve been there 4 times in the last two months. took some friends a few nights ago. everything has been great every time weve gone there! great Halibut and great steak dinners!! i eat out alot...and this placevis really good!
