Food, drinks and service were exceptional.
Jada our server was very attentive.
We came as a family for an early dinner and enjoyed the food as we always do. The service was the worst it has ever been. I can imagine slow service, empty drinks or losing your server if the restaurant is booming but there were only a couple other tables and plenty of other servers (who handled some of our needs, such as bringing our food and bringing us a dessert menu). We saw a manager walking around who never stopped by to see why we were bored or if we needed anything. Very disappointed in the service but as always, the food was fantastic.
Everything was excellent! He started with wedge salad and I had crawfish bisque. Delicious fish entrees for us both. Sea Bass with dirty rice for him, Mahi Boudreaux with roasted broccoli with mine were both wonderful, plus the bread! Service was great and I love the vibe. We skipped dessert. Portions were large.
Belated Valentine’s Day brunch with my girlfriend. Great food and great wait staff.
The food was excellent. I had the shrimp brochette and my wife had the scallop dish. Our server Nathan was prompt ,professional, and took care of all our needs. It was Valentine's Day so parking was difficult. Overall a very nice experience.
Don’t bother making a reservation. Hostesses pay no attention.
Glad we had reservations, at 630 it was packed and no room to sit in bar. The grits recipe had changed, not as good, the coconut shrimp appetizer was cold and overcooked. Caesar salad was swimming in dressing. Best thing we had was the cocktails.
Food and service was fantastic. We will definitely be back.
4 people, 4 different dishes: waffles Cajun migas, McAdoo's twist on Chili rellenos and Eggs Benedict. All were delicious. The bloody mary bar was awesome.
Food and service was outstanding, drinks are week ( cosmo, lemon drop and dirty martin)
I am giving McAdoos, a 5 Star, although some might take it down a notch. I did the Brunch, having a Mexican style shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, it was awesome. I then had their Cajun style enchaladas with red beans and rice. The red beans were delicious. The Enchaladas were filled with shrimp and crawfish and were good, except it was a little heavy on the cheese. My companion had the Eggs Benedict, which looked very good, eggs over crab cakes. She said they were delicious. We both had bloody Mary's, which was good, but different. They bring you a glass with ice, vodka, and a skewer with boiled shrimp on it, then you go to the Bloody Mary bar, where you select your choice of tomato juice and your condiments. Check the place out, but beware, it is not cheap.
Worst service ever! Took 30 minutes before we placed our order, another 20 minutes for the appetizers, asked for bread 3 times, no silverware or napkins, bussed the table ourselves between courses, waiter forgot 2 of the salads, and had to sit in a cold back room. Never again.
Really good food with an excellent menu. Great selection of drinks and decent selection of wine. The service was outstanding. Will certainly go back--often.
Always a favorite spot in N B and we come often
Very sparsely populated. Obviously no challenge to the super bowl.
The building was somewhat cold - the food was excellent - the waitress was very good.
This is one of the nicest restaurants in New Braunfels. I love the fact that the post office has found a new life as a restaurant. The conversion has been done very well. Reminders of the buildings prior existence as a post office are to be seen here and there.
The food and ambience are inspired by N'Orleans. We enjoyed the etouffee. We did not try the oysters but the selection and pricing make them tempting.
We recommend this place to visitors and locals.
Good food and excellent service
Birthday dinner for our son and everyone loved their food. Crowded for a Tuesday night but service was fast. We'll be back.
Eight of us met for Sunday brunch, based solely on the promise of a great Bloody Mary bar—and it did not disappoint. Bacon, pickled okra, cheese cubes, cocktail onions + many other add-ons Plus an incredible variety of mixers. Entrees were a bit overpriced, but everything was tasty. Special recognition for the stuffed quail and red snapper which were exceptional.
great atmosphere, service was pretty good, busy place for Sunday brunch. Food was very creative and good
Very fun menu. The Bloody Mary bar was unique — I’d never seen one before. Food was great. It was pricy but worth it!
Fantastic execution. This is coming from a real food snob and ex-chef. If you are looking for a quality fine dining experience in this town. You can't go wrong here. Everything was. cooked and seasoned to perfection. A real destination for any foodie. The food was only topped by the staff that was the stars of the show. What can experience!
Husband's mahi was good. Fried catfish/shrimp plate also good; shrimp much better than catfish. Wedge salad excellent. Good cocktails and nice list of wines by the glass. Service very courteous and efficient.
Beautiful ambiance and quality of service excellent
And food was out of this world.
Great food and service. Also it has very interesting decor and ambiance. I will recommend it to all my friends as an excellent place to dine.
Very disappointed restaurant was out of the halibut - the only reason we came to the restaurant. And, this is the second time in a row that happened.
Great brunch menu and build your own Bloody Mary bar. We will definitely go again.
‘I’ve here many times before and the service and quality of food are always consistently good. I enjoy coming here and will be back as soon as I can. If you’re in the area, make it a point to go to McAdoo’s!”
Great food and wonderful service. Can't wait to go back!
Always consistent and easy access. We will be frequent visitors in the foreseeable future.
McAdoos is always a favorite, enjoy the atmosphere and look forward to our next visit.
We always love the Brunch and this time was no exception!!
Our dinner was very good, as always. We definitely enjoy going to McAdoos!
Great wedge salad. Fried plates are far better than they were during McAdoo's early years. Husband's mahi was nice. Overall pleasant dining experience.
I have had dinner and lunch at McAdoo's over the last week. These were the first visits in 10 years or more that were anything other than fantastic. It seems both the food and service are slipping.
seafood was great!!! Parmesan crusted chicken was very spicy (hot) I guess it was cayenne pepper in the breading? Not sure, but hard to enjoy because my mouth was on fire! Didn’t expect that fish to be so hot. I think it would have been really good if I could have tasted it...
The food was very good. The biggest problem was that there was one waitress, she was excellent, but she had no help for busing the table, more water, bread, etc. As a result there was a long wait at times. We had nine people for a very special birthday party and more service would have been greatly appreciated.
Beautiful location in well appointed redo of local post office. Was so hoping to love the food as a cajun transplant and all the great crawfish options but it did not measure up. Red beans and rice were over seasoned and did not taste authentic. Relleno was over battered. Enchiladas with seafood sauce didn't have the right ratios of cheese and sauce. The sauce was very good but there was so little cheese in the enchiladas it was like eating mostly tortillas. Like the fusion idea but it was not well executed.
It was in a historic building. Service was great and food was hot and tasty.
Lovely start to my post birthday/NYE festivities. Host and waiter were so kind and patient
