Mediterranean Harbour Bar and Grill
Surprisingly we were the only diners early on a Saturday night. The ambiance was very quiet - until the manager took to task a server who came late to work. Unfortunately their discussion of this matter was done in the mostly empty dining room and went on for a very long time. We could hear every word - and we really did not want to. We eventually asked our server to tell the others to take that conversation elsewhere, as it was too much of a distraction. Our server did talk to them, and that conversation stopped. The good news is that not only was our particular server efficient and attentive but the food was good - with portions so generous we finished the leftovers for dinner the next day. Would I recommend this place? For take out or delivery - yes. For eat-in? Probably not.
Compared to other Mediterranean and Lebanese restaurants I had been to before this one did not justify free prices. There were people at one other table when we went in, it still took 10 minutes to for server to come and take even a drink order
In a nice location, but on a Friday night we literally were the only customers there, except for one table which was leaving when we arrived. The food was ok, nothing exceptional . The waitresses were nice, but the ambiance was a zero .
The food was mediocre, at best. The service was awful. They brought our appetizers after our entrees had come. I do not recommend.
They didn’t check us in on open table, be sure they do.
We dined here on the late side following a concert on a night the restaurant had been busy. We were initially told the restaurant was out of house wine by the glass, and another label offered on the menu. We had some trouble communicating to our server that a substitute should be offered, and getting the first glass delivered to the table for the two wine drinkers took a long time, while another companion got a mixed drink long before us. No water was ever served or offered. The main course came too quickly after the Greek salads, and there wasn't room on the table.
That said, the food was delicious, and once the manager or bartender "found" some bottles of the house wine after all, we enjoyed our meal. Greek salad uses good quality feta cheese and Greek olives, and the vegetable kabob served with rice and side veggies is generous enough for leftovers.
We always love to eat at local restaurants and saw this place from Open Table. I made reservations for 9. When we arrived, they were not expecting us and did not have a table ready. I noticed that they pushed a table top next to a booth. I kindly informed them that we had 9 and the space was for 7. She looked at me like I was an idiot......so we left and I spent $500 on dinner at Bonefish and we all lived happily ever after! 🇺🇸
Interior needs maintenance and renovation. Ok for fishermen coming in off boats but does not really compete with most restaurants on the island. Food listings were great but the taste was not that interesting - could have been much better.
The food was tasty. There was only one other table of guests which we prefer more. Service was very nice but too quick. Restaurant could use redecorating- a bit run down.
Food very average . Olive and Fig is 100x better ! Will not be going back
Not a good value for your buck. The food was good and fresh and the service was good. But the meat was scmipy reducing the value.
We went in for dinner, not realizing they had a fantastic happy hour menu. So, we sat in the bar area (which was a bit dark) and ordered off the happy hour menu so we could try more items. What a deal! All of the food the we tried was fantastic, between appetizers, salads, drinks and entrees. Our server was also wonderful recommending drinks and continuing to check on us throughout the evening. We would really recommend this restaurant if you want delicious mediterranean food.
Nice place in shelter cove. It’s off season on the island so pretty quiet there. Server was very pleasant and attentive. Food came quickly and everything was good. We had the chicken and lamb kabobs.
Efficient and friendly waitstaff; excellent food. We tried the appetizer sampler. Baba ghanoush was the best I have tasted and the sambosik was excellent. We make sure to
Eat here every year we are in Hilton Head. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Lunches and dinners are always delicious and the service is always great.
Food and service were great! Loved the greek salad with chicken. Husband had falafel encrusted cod. Yum. Wanted to eat outside but singer was awful, and crowd too rowdy. Will come back and try outside again. Bathroom location super awkward.
Drinks were disappointing but food was good.
Excellent service and great food!
I read the reviews before I booked, and thought it could not be that bad. Well, I was so disappointed and think Open T
able should take the restaurant off their list. I could have made a better meal myself.
Unfortunate because food was good and sitting outdoors was nice. Service just plain awful. Some experienced wait staff is needed.
This was our first time visiting the restaurant. We are outside looking at the marina. Our food was delicious and the service was fast. I was suprised more people weren’t eating here. Maybe it has yet to be discovered!! Highly recommend this place.
Personable wait staff. Good food. Seafood in addition to the meat options.
The food was outstanding and authentic. Service was excellent.
Highly recommend the Kafta Kabob and the appetizer sampler. Baba Ghanouj, hummus and stuffed grape leaves were superb.
I would not recommend this restaurant. I had beef and it was dry and tasteless. My husband had lamb chops which were overcooked and not well seasoned. The wine was not good either.
Staff was delightful and engaging
We ate outside. The table was a little rocky and we didn't feel entirely conferrable. It was fine except for the fly's.
Food was pricey and mediocre. The service was OK. All in all nothing spectacular.
Our extended family ate here for our annual celebrate everything dinner. My family lives in the Middle East and my SIL’s family used to, so we’ve had lots of Lebanese food. This place is very authentic and tasty. Especially the fattoush salad, hummus, lamb kebabs, flounder, ahi tuna, and garlic sauce. It was a great meal and we will be back.
Fabulous food and excellent service. Never disappoints
We know authentic Mediterranean food. I order the Kafta Kabobs, had a weird taste. Husband ordered the chicken shawarma, wasn’t impressed. Sister ordered lamb kabobs, hated it. Brother ordered beef shawarma, thank God he’s a Marine lol. We all had a side of green beans and carrots with one little broccoli. Serving size was a bit on the small end for the price. No complementary hummus appetizer. They forgot husbands beer twice. The best part about the restaurant was the ambiance. My husband and brother said the best part was leaving. Hahaha!
This was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. Food was bland, unpleasant, and overpriced. Dark, bad ventilation, and dingy. Waitress got the order wrong twice as well. Very disappointed. Would not return.
Good food choice lamb chops and fish
We loved the whole experience! Food, service, ambiance all A plus!
We were glad to get a table on short notice but we now know why. This was a mistake. From the waitress taking 25 minutes to even put in our order after arriving 15 minutes before next table, she chose to put in all tables orders together then swamping the kitchen. It’s a disaster in there. The humus was good. Aside from that salads were sad. My skewer sampler was gross and flavorless. The rice was microwaved. It was just terrible.
Real good local owned and authentic middle eastern food.
Good service and friendly.
Authentic Middle Eastern food. Best tabouleh salad I have eaten outside of Lebanon. "Foreign" cuisine which easily appeals to American taste buds. Family establishment using family recipes.
The food is outstanding. Our server must have been a fill in or new to the job. Did not know menu, awful last glass of wine in the bottle, not attentive & took too long the get the bill.
I've had 2 dinners here and the food was delicious both times. They do a great job with fish. I was disappointed that they were out of grape leaves on my last visit. Service is only so-so but food is excellent.
Our visit was a bit odd since the restaurant was almost empty with only one other table occupied. It was a Sunday evening around 5:30 and that may have been why there were so few customers. Perhaps they get busy later in the evening. We were a party of 4 and I would say one person loved their meal and the other three felt it was average. Two of us had the lamb kabobs and were surprised at the small amount of meat provided for the cost - $24. There were 8 quarter-sized pieces of meat. I've had Mediterranean food before and the portions have never been so small. The rice and vegetables were tasty but didn't make up for the lack of meat. Another member of our group had beef kabobs ($20) and it came with the same small portion. The member of our group who loved her dinner had the grape leaves appetizer ($8), the couscous salad ($9) and falafel encrusted cod ($18) and loved everything. Dessert was tasty. Service was pleasant.
I really enjoyed the food here. Was in town on vacation and we saw the menu online. Everything tasted great and authentic. I highly recommend and I will be back the next time I am in Hilton Head!
