Michel's at the Colony Surf

The view can’t get any better than this place. We had a table of 5. One of us is Vegan. They had to make a vegan option up. It a salad, pasta noodles and spaghetti sauce. It was a C- at best and cost just as much as a regular entrees. In this day and age, the vegan world is growing by the day. It’s the only fine dining place I’ve been in Oahu that doesn’t have at least 1 option. My friends loved their food. Server was great but extremely busy and missed a lot. It happens. I’ve been here 4 times and all 4 times the vegan option sucked. I personally will wait until they add something. As for my friends, they will return.

The ambiance was beautiful, dining by the ocean with the sound of the waves and the view of Waikiki in the background was mesmerizing. The food was delicious, the desserts were beautifully prepared and sweet.

We had a beautiful table by the window. This may be the prettiest restuarant now in Honolulu. Open to the air, listening to the waves and watching the sunset.
The table side preparations are such fun. I would suggest that you ask for a little less dressing on the Caesar unless you want every smidge of the lettuce soaked in dressing. The quality of the lettuce is excellent.
The chateaubriand was cooked to perfection - I asked for rare plus and that is what they delivered. Maybe ask them to slice in 8 pieces, rather than 4? That is a minor detail.
The pavlova was delicious with the lilikoi and mango sorbet.
A wonderful evening.

Everything was amazing. Food, drinks, hostess, valet and specially our server Kai!!! Definitely worth every penny.

Beautiful view and delicious food, but it may be time for a remodel to a dated dining room! We had the table side caesar and lobster bisque. Our guests had the foie gras and escargots. Impeccable service and great wine list.

The service from Jihadi (sp) and food were amazing! We will definitely be back!

Our friend recommended this so we booked it on our last day in Hawaii on our anniversary. We got sitter at 5:30pm ready for the sunset though we didnt get a seaside table despite booking it for ahead and mentioned special occasion, but anyway the service was very good, food was amazing, i had the ser menu for $130 for 6 tasty courses, my partner had the salad and lamb shank which I highly recommend, very tasty lamb but everything was tasty anyway. I would go back again.

We visit Michelle’s every time we are on Oahu and despite COVID 19, this time did not disappoint. Though some table side prepared options are not available right now everything was wonderful. Set in the beach in Waikiki we always choose sunset as our favorite time of day to eat when dining at Michelle’s.

Get the lamb! The mezcal drink is amazing, too! Lobster bisque!!

Attention and service was excellent from our server, Pasha. Throughout the evening, GM Philip Shaw made sure our needs were met. Both Pasha and Mr. Shaw made us feel very special. The food was great, and though you can have similar fare at other fine dining establishments, the welcoming warmth of the staff made for one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. Ambience, with the views of the sunset, was second to none. We were first timers, and we're definitely returning! Mahalo Mr. Shaw and Pasha!

Great ambiance being next to the beach. Solid service. Food was in general good though small portions for this restaurant (maybe 3-4 oz of beef and 2 oz of tomato soup). However, $190 per person for the required four-course menu was a rip off. The five-course preset food at say Miro Kaimuki is better and $65 pp. The one set menu and its $190 pp price was not disclosed beforehand. If it was I, and I suspect others, would have chosen to dine elsewhere. Over $1,000 for dinner for five was ridiculous. We like to support restaurants during these difficult times but getting ripped off by one was disappointing to say the least.

We’ve been dining at Michel’s for 40 years. It’s one of our “go to” places for fine dining. The setting on the beach is beautiful. And “open air” rooms are a must for my husband and me nowadays.

Jackie (aka”Jackie Girl”) was just right. Very knowledgeable & capable with a very pleasant manner. She was quite attentive, without overdoing it (if you know what I mean).

The food & wine was wonderful, as always at Michel’s.

Can’t wait till next time! Always a pleasure!

This was our first experience at this restaurant and it was a holiday which had a fixed menu.
Much of the food was very bland for my taste and surely not spectacular as was expected at this price point.
Service was very friendly but slow at times with the waiter coming mid-meal to ask us if we had had a course which we had not.

Xmas Eve dinner here was very special. 5 course meal was amazing. Best mushroom soup ever!

Restaurant is beautiful and faces the ocean. Menu changes every so often so it maybe different from the website. My son tried the Beef Wellington and said it was excellent but a lot of food. The taste was buttery and refined, very French. Good restaurant for special occasions.

Everything was great but still very expensive! A bit noisy beach goers. The chef stopped at tables but didn’t seem very engaged—perfunctory.

The food and service is always excellent every time we return to Michel’s.

From the service to the food everything was OUTSTANDING. The general manager Phillip was more then accommodating as I have a food allergy and was still able to get the same meals as my boyfriend but a different version. I highly highly highly recommend dining here and the view is amazing!

This was the second visit and enjoyed our dinner more. The menu changes daily or weekly so there're some options.

Lovely Sunday brunch at Michel’s, our favorite beachfront venue in Hawaii. We have dined here for brunch on several occasions, twice during COVID restrictions. Michel’s beachfront setting is simply lovely, perfect for a Sunday brunch. For their Sunday brunch, Michel’s offers a four course menu, starting with their homemade yogurt with fresh fruits, honey, and granola. This is then followed by a choice of an appetizer, a main course, and a scrumptious dessert. Each course is beautifully presented and simply delicious, just perfect! The variety of choices promises to satisfy anyone’s cravings. Michel’s is all about the special ambiance which has proved timeless for kama’aina and tourists alike; the exquisite food and service makes it all the more special.

Wonderful and romantic experience at Michel’s! Fantastic food and wine, wonderful friendly service (I accidentally dropped my napkin and they noticed before I did and replaced it!), and ambiance doesn’t get better. Look forward to returning soon for a real treat.
