   I hadn't been to Mon Ami Gabi for several years. They have upped the levels of service and quality of food. It offers a truly authentic French cuisine and a thoroughly entertaining evening.

   A little disappointed in one of our favorite spots. The duck was overcooked and the fish special was just ok. (Should have ordered the trout almondine which is a classic.)

   The food was outstanding. Never thought I would be raving about a side salad (the Petite Green) but the combination of herbs was the most delicate and flavorful I have ever enjoyed. And the bordeaux sauce with the steak was to die for. The service was odd for a fine dining venue, though. We were offered and served salads but waited over a half hour after that to order our meals - had to flag someone down to request our server's attention. In the end, though, the quality of the food prevailed and we enjoyed our visit to this charming restaurant very much. Kudos to the chef!

   The food as expected is outstanding. I had the skate wing and that was excellent - well-seasoned and light, but substantial (I couldn't resist the temptation to finish it off my plate vs. taking half home).

   I like Mon Ami Gabi but last night was unexpected. It turned out to be one of the best dining experiences ever! The drinks, food and SERVICE, were excellent. Our weigh person was the best. So happy she made us even happier than we already were.

   Think steak frites in a warm environment, with attentive and helpful service, and full of diners from the neighborhood. I'm never disappointed in my go-to meal: escargot or French onion soup, steak frites (every option is excellent), creamed spinach and profiteroles. So I've actually never explored the rest of the menu.

    It was perfect! Food was excellent, prices were fair . Our server Amanda (?) was excellent! Her rhythm was spot on , she tended to us just when we needed and her sweet humble presentation completed our relaxes and happy mood . Her support wait staff was also perfectly attentive without bugging us. Absolutely no complaint about our evening and left praising the food, service and experience!

    Wonderful venue, great food and excellent location. I have been there many times over the years, and have never been disappointed. Excellent menu, great service and good location. Valet parking is available, as street parking requires some strategizing. But the effort is worth the challenge.

    Gorgeous venue with impeccable service and food! Very festive and happening when we went for our 29th wedding anniversary lunch. Wish I had requested for a table outside. The weather was stunningly beautiful. Escargot was simply heavenly! Love, love the delicious French bread. We had two different cups of rare teas, which were amazing. My husband had the mussels and he really enjoyed it. Go, savor the food and ambiance and you'll want to go back, just like we do!

    Food was on point. We were seated right away. Service was definitely lacking. We sat for a while before our server came by to welcome us and take a drink order. However, it’s worth noting that we received excellent service from bus staff. We’ll be back again because we are loyal lettuce patrons and this is one of our favorites. But hoping the management team can beef up the skill set of the main servers.

    As always, our evening at Mon Ami Gabi was outstanding. The heirloom tomato and Lyonnais salads were excellent, as were the skatewing and mussels/frites mains. And the profiteroles were a terrific end to the meal. The service was outstanding and the ambience was lively. Mon Ami Gabi is on our regular rota of restos in Chicago.

    Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and shown to our choice of table. The waiter was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Food was what we were expecting and more. Steak frites with the sauces are incredible and plentiful. Great wine selection with the help of our waiter. Was raining outside which added to the warmth of the restaurant. Could just imagine being inside on a snowy night. Will be back again upon our next visit to Chicago. very memorable.

    Just a simple classic, always enjoyable, good quality food. The service worked, but a bit uninspired, pointing to the menu with sparse input about wines. Ambiance still works, still capable of transporting one to Paris, however briefly.

    Food superb but service was not up to the level of the cuisine. Why do you have the staff retire the plates when others at the sane table are still eating? Too many customers for that small space made the room very noisy.

    I have been already a returning customer for some time, but last night at Mon Ami Gabi for our anniversary dinner was one to remember. The food was delicious, the ambiance was comfortably elegant, and the staff was incredibly sweet and attentive, but without being too present.     Food was exceptional, as well as, the service. We had lettuce entertain you gift cards tt his time, but we will return again without.
