Despite having to eat outside in the cold due to COVID-19, they provided space heaters at each table. I had the rack of lamb which was wonderful and cooked rare. The gluten free pasta looked like it was home made and I couldn't believe how good it was. Thanks for the great new years experience!

Incredible experience! This is a quaint little neighborhood restaurant with a relaxing ambiance and a personable staff. The bruschetta was simple and outstanding. The meal itself was well worth the price.

We dined with another couple on Monday evening. It was a warm evening and we ate at a sidewalk table. Our server wore a mask at all times and the tables were more than 6' apart. We come to Mondello's often and our experience was consistent with our past visits - good food, a select wine list, and attentive but not overbearing service.

Always charming, always delicious. Not very busy on a Tuesday night; I hope Mondello does not suffer from the social distancing measures. We are choosing to eat at restaurants every night until we are told NO.

Authentic Italian cooking that makes you want to return again as soon as you can to try other items on the menu that made it hard to select the one you did.

We had a lovely, slow-paced dinner at our local Italian restaurant. Service was attentive, helpful and inviting. The meal was delicious.

What a disappointment. We used to live in Magnolia and Mondello was a favorite for outstanding Italian food. We were out and about and decided to go back. It was a disappointment all around. First, the service was spotty and the restaurant - perhaps a fan was broken or something - was unbearably hot. My kids had to go outside 3-4x to get a break and were upset. A bottle of Ripasso was OK (open examination afterwards it was a year younger than the menu stated, and was definitely too early to be opened). A seafood special was OK, but massively overpriced (nearly 2x the dish we originally picked, with no notice). The fettucine was overcooked. The desserts were mediocre, with the special cake being dry and the cheesecake literally melting because of the heat in the restaurant - was like eating sauce. I'm really sad to say this about a place we used to enjoy so much but this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had in the past few years.

Food tasted good, but was pricey. They brought our main course when we were only half way through our salad - felt like they were really trying to rush us through.

So disappointed. I ordered the lamb for $42 it was small and incredibly under seasoned . And we ordered appetizers and meals and dessert and all the staff could do was point at our table refill it. It will be a while before I ever come back here despite it being a neighborhood place.

The restaurant continues to be super smoky. My eyes we’re burning the entire time. In addition our clothing all need to be dry cleaned. Sadly won’t return again.

Went there for date night. We had the charcuterie plate, spinach salad, Veal Osso Buco (special), and pasta with sausage. Everything was great. I loved the spinach salad and the pasta with sausage.

My husband and I have been loyal customers of Mondello for years because it was the homey spot for good Italian food in our neighborhood. We were able to look past their fairly regular service blunders and mishaps, and the fact that the red wine was always served at 85+ degrees because we still felt welcomed and the food was plentiful and the quality was high.

But, after eating at Mondello a week ago, they have lost us. The family has faced the very sad loss of their matriarch, and the eyes on this restaurant now have a very different arrogance and focus on cutbacks for their own benefit. The place feels now feels like another manipulative Seattle restaurant taking sneaky steps to give you less which will backfire as the experience and food quality has massively suffered.

We were made to wait for 10 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation. A pack ‘em mentality. Newly implemented, bread is rationed at one piece per customer and refilled for a charge. Red wine is still served too hot, yet the price per glass probably exceeds the value of the whole bottle. Portion sizes have shrunk, now 5 ravioli where there used to be 6 and they taste nothing like they used to. Veal has been replaced with bread in the no-meatballs. I mean, come on! Isn’t that like the oldest trick in the book?

It is so disappointing to see how greed has messed with was used to a pretty good thing.

We love this place, and always come here for special occasions.

Simple dishes that were nicely prepared. The carbonara was flavorful and had just the right chew. Rich lasagna that could easily be shared or boxed up for lunch the next day. The ambiance is not fancy, but pleasant. A good wine list.

Caesar salad was outstanding, the best I’ve had in years. The dressing was light and very tasty. I had lasagna it was delicious, and in a large serving. Service was Excellence, very professional. We will definitely return soon.

We met old friends we hadn’t seen in years, The atmosphere was fun and festive. Our waitress was delightful, and our food was excellent. Overall a wonderful wonderful restaurant.

Great authentic Italian family run restaurant. It was hot, so we sat outside for dinner. Even with Magnolia Summerfest and a lot of people walking by, the staff were quick and effecient. Our food came out hot, our drinks never got empty, and the quality of everything was great.

As for the food, we all got caprese salads as appetizers, and the tomatoes were firm and juicy, the mozzarella was fresh. For dinner, we all had pasta. Everything tasted like it was home made using a recipe passed down and loved by generations.

This is one of my favorite relaxed Italian places on the west coast.

Took my parents here for their last night in town and the experience was unbelievable. The owner was kind and provided us with excellent service and great recommendations. The inside of the restaurant was a little too warm, so we sat outside which was perfect.

The gnocchi was some of the best I have had outside of Italy. The meatballs were fantastic and the chicken Marsala was extremely flavorful.

The wine - we had Barbara D’Alba - was a great year.

For dessert, we tried the peach sorbet which came inside of a frozen peach! The sorbet was delicious and although it could have been a little softer, I would absolutely get it again.

I felt like I was eating at a families kitchen. Excellent food and service. I must experience place.

We found this restaurant on tripadvisor while we were looking for a place to celebrate my daughter's 12th birthday. We were finishing up a 2 week vacation from Canada and wanted a cozy, quiet place. We were very surprised to come across Mondello. Being a weeknight I was able to easily book a last minute reservation for 5 and even though we were a few minutes late, our table was ready for us. Service was attentive, ambiance was nice (as it is a small restaurant) and food was delicious. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I had noted on the reservation under "special circumstances" my daughter's birthday and there was no complimentary dessert, no candle (she wouldn't have wanted singing). The server only mentioned a quick birthday wish because my daughter's grandmother wished her a happy birthday in front of the server. Some recognition would have been appreciated.

Server was outstanding! She did lower the loud background music so my party could hear each other at our request. Food was good. Tiramisu dessert a bit too sweet for my taste buds. I will go again, and again as long as current chef stays on.

I have enjoyed this restaurant in the past. This visit was not at all what I had expected. Service and quality of food was horrible. We were there to celebrate a birthday- nobody seemed to care

My wife and I are locals and have eaten at Mondello's 3 times recently, with inconsistent culinary satisfaction. Two of my party of 5 ordered the same ravioli marsala plate. When placed side by side in front of us one plate had 80-90% more mushrooms in the sauce than the other plate. Ravioli was not plump. Spaghetti Carbanara was very starchy like the pasta was poorly prepared. Lasagna also seemed starchy. Pollo (chicken) with grilled vegetables good but the zucchini slices was bitter.

This meal was by far the least satisfactory of our 3 dinner visits to Mondello's since April 6th 2019. It is highly unlikely we will return any time in the future. It saddens me to write this as the family running this ristorante are very pleasant and enjoyable people. Unfortunately our food experience didn't match the staff's charm.
