Service was awful. Took 20 minutes to get drinks and over an hour for dinner. Food came out cold.
Friday evening dinner for four. After spending a lovely 30 minutes sipping cocktails in the Huntsman Bar we were greeted and ushered into the main dining room at Morada. Drink orders were taken promptly but didn't arrive in a timely fashion - in fact we had to get up and inquire what had happened to them as our server disappeared. Okay. It happens. But then, main courses were also late and when they arrived it was obvious that they had been sitting for awhile (you know when luke warm mashed potatoes get that "we ain't moving" consistency). Fried chicken was ok. Vegetable pasta was not good. The other main courses were average. All in all, not what you would expect from as lovely a spot as the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. Recollections was past visits (pre Marriott) were higher standards. Disappointing as we were considering the venue for a wedding in 2020.
We've eaten out on the patio at the Inn several times: it's always a wonderful experience. This occasion it was a birthday celebration. The menu is great: my wife is now gluten free, and most everything is available GF - including the French Toast!! Fantastic! Their pastry chef is a friend of one of our family members, and came over from Mille Fleurs. You can't go wrong here.
Excellent ambience on the patio. We realize we prefer breakfast and lunch to dinner there. Server was great, service slow in the kitchen. Paul is a great bartender.
I have dined at the Morada for twenty five years! My favorite meal is breakfast. The eggs benedict is awesome!! I'm picky about the sauce and they've got it down pat. It's a warm & beautiful atmosphere. Yesterday I ate outside on the patio with my dog. Pooches are always welcome! Everyone is friendly. It's my favorite restaurant in San Diego county.
Close to a 5 star but prices are a tad high for lunch: However, typical for a hotel restaurant. We have been here several times for lunch and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. Service was phenomenal as usual. The black bean mushroom lettuce wrap was delicious. as was the fish tacos that my husband ordered. Everything is always fresh and the chef uses seasonal choices. The peach and blueberry cobbler was divine!
Food needs serious work. Beautiful patio, good service however food was bland and presented poorly
We were seated for 20 minutes without being waited on. Eventually went to bar and to get our own drinks before getting waited on. Fortunately the bar tender served and comped our drinks. Rest of meal and service was fine.
Always consistently great.. beautiful outdoor patio
An all around Very Enjoyable experience.
The Food was Superb but the Staff was what Made the Evening!
Super attentive and friendly!
Lovely evening with friends. Service was off, not sure why, but I can overlook one off night. All good!
If you are coming to this restaurant hungry - you may leave a little less hungry and really paid the price for it. We learned to over order here because the portions are small.
Was disappointing meal. Fish tacos had very over cooked and dry fish. Wanted to have heater and sit outside but they told us no because of umbrellas up. Later while
Leaving another table had a heater. We were with elderly couple celebrating a birthday. Could not hear inside as too noisy. We have had much better experiences at this lovely restaurant. Personnel could have been more accommodating.
It was a lovely family dinner outing in a casual relaxing atmosphere with delicious food
We will definitely be back
Aaron was wonderful
My boyfriend and I went for a Sunday brunch when they were doing their "Mimosas and Minis" promotion. Basically we enjoyed brunch on the patio and got to interact with miniature horses. Absolutely adorable! For our brunch order we had mimosas, the Greek yogurt, brisket breakfast tacos, and the assorted breads and pastries. Everything was delicious. The vibe was relaxed and it was quiet, even with the excited kids playing with the horses. A very peaceful brunch. Afterwards we walked around the property, which was beautiful, and now we'll likely plan a staycation there.
I had reserved an outside table for six for breakfast. They had not reserved a table for us and sat us inside in a booth. They said they had no outside table available for an hour. When I showed them my reservation details which clearly stated ‘outside table’ suddenly they were able to put two tables together to accommodate us. This is not the kind of service we expect from The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. We discussed it as we ate breakfast and decided that the menu has not changed for a long time and that the next time we get together we will be going somewhere else.
The service was poor! I was essentially told to bus my own appetizer plates.
Waitress was not very attended to my family, Had to wait a while for refills and our food. Atmosphere is beautiful food was great will be back been there several times and I can say this was not the best service.
We’re glad you enjoyed your meal and appreciate your willingness to give us another try. We’re sharing your feedback with the team to ensure we offer you an all-around great experience on your next visit.
Dining for lunch on the veranda is my favorite way to celebrate special occasions with family and friends. Umbrellas are plentiful so you won't get caught baking in the sun. The atmosphere is serene: cutlery clacking on plates and whispered conversation is the most you will ever hear. The staff is plentiful meaning always someone walking nearby to ask a question. I've come many times and the service and food is always excellent. If you want to impress out of town guests with a taste of California from a bygone era, this is as close as it gets.
Of all places you wouldn't think the bar area is quiet. But this was the perfect spot to hold a confidential business meeting. The food was great, the service spot on, and the view spectacular. We'll use again and again. Highly recommend!!
The service was great and the setting was perfect. Also, I would highly recommend the Salmon as it was delicious and large enough to share.
Everything was excellent. Our server, Mitchell, was just great. Very attentive and great personality. Food was beautifully served and delicious.
Sat on the veranda. Amazing ambiance and location
Used to love this restaurant when they first opened, but it has gone downhill. Our last meal there they forgot to put any of the toppings on the Royce Salad. Soup was bland. And the service was really really slow.
We were disappointed in our Morada experience. We were sitting outside, it was dark already and quite chilly, but even though our table was reserved for us the heater wasn't on already. We asked the hostess, and then again the waitress 10 min. later, for someone to come turn it on. It was about 25-30 minutes before we got heat. Our first course was the Feta & Heirloom tomato salad - the tomato was not an heirloom, it was an unripe Roma tomato, the cucumbers were sliced so thin they were see-through and there was hardly any seasoning on it. For $18 it really set the food portion of dinner off to a bad start. Our entrees were fine, not great - the short rib pasta and the pot pie. Our waitress was very personable and accommodating but also had multiple large tables taking up her area causing our 2 person dinner to take nearly 2 hours. Overall a "meh" experience and wouldn't recommend to family or friends.
Lovely evening spent on the terrace celebrating our anniversary. Perfect in every way!
I ordered Cavatelli. The waiter delivered a bowl of Cavatappi. At first it seemed like a honest spelling mistake. I told the waiter and he and the Cook (or whoever was on staff in the kitchen) seem to believe that what they made was in fact Cavatelli. Not only is it a typo on the menu, but the staff don’t know what Cavatelli actually is. it was delicious, but we were quite perplexed because who ever ordered lasagna and got a hamburger, by no mistake...
Dinner at end of travel.
Chose Inn at Rancho Santa Fe for friend’s get together because of the reputation for classy, gentile atmosphere. Loud voices and drafty room prevented us from enjoying a quiet evening dining. Staff obliged by allowing us a table in The Library. We dined in silence with no other guests in the room... a bit creepy. And the dusty old books made me sneeze. Not going back there anytime soon.
Lovely dining on the front terrace for lunch. Nice valet parking.
A perfect place for noshing with friends and family. We like to talk and catch up without the wait staff rushing us and The Morada staff allow us the peaceful experience. The food is well prepared and flavorful. And if you like to walk off a few ounces the grounds of the Inn are wonderful.
Awful food. Absolutely terrible. And, the service was an embarrassment.
Great service and quiet table and setting for our conversation and catching up. Food above average but not exceptional.
their huntsman whiskey bar is amazing
Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere. Some of the signs were excellent a couple of the others were very good. We enjoyed the meal very much.
Overall great experience. Nice menu great service and everything you’d expect from a quiet inn.
They need to add more healthy vegetarian options
Fantastic experience! Highly suggest!
Great restaurant ! The atmosphere, service, food preparation and everything were exeptional!
