Always love when we have a chance to eat here! A great experience every time!
Waitress was superb! Corn bread was the best I’ve ever had! For the price I’d definitely come here again. Was celebrating wedding anniversary and was not disappointed!
Love this place but would enjoy a change up in the menu
My husband found Ms Rose’s on Foursquare while planning our vacation to Charleston. From the outside ,the restaurant looked looked so fun and festive which made us excited to go in. We walked into an almost empty restaurant at 6:30 PM on a Sunday night. We were greeted by a friendly hostess an equally friendly waitress. We placed our order and the food came out in in 8 minutes after she took our order which we found strange for the items we chose . My shrimp and grits only had a spoonful of grits in it and the sauce was watery thin. The shrimp in it were very good. My husband had the Fish & Chips. The batter fell right off the fish when he picked it up and the fish was not fully cooked.
My daughter ordered the 3 piece Fried Chicken dinner. The breast was burned on the outside and inedible but she enjoyed the thigh and drumstick. As fast as our food came out there was no way that chicken could be fried that quick which obviously means it was sitting under a warmer.
We didn’t complain because honestly we didn’t want to deal with it.
I guess there’s a reason why the restaurant was so empty.
Great food, friendly staff. If you want southern choices without being greasy, this is the place!
Not a good experience the food was less than expected or expressed in its own reviews. Smaller portions and no seasoning? Salt need in everything!!! And not a Charleston Shrimp and grit literally two slices of sausage ? But plenty of nearly whole tomato’s???
We love this place. The food is always good and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I have never had a bad meal here...lunch or dinner.
One of my favorite brunch spots around. Food is always great along with the staff.
This place was fantastic!! The food was amazing!! Defiantly will be going back! Brunch was good and the mimosa pitcher was well worth the price!
Even though it started out badly it ended up being a good time. 45 mins to get a mimosa. Need more than one bartender on the weekends. Food was good.
Was very disappointed in the brunch as we had seen positive reviews online. Food was average for the price and wait, waitress was not very attentive and rude, and room was very loud with the air conditioner blasting cold air the entire time. Only positive aspect of the meal was the Bloody Mary bar as it was very unique. Would not recommend
Friendly staff, great food that was not just typical diner style, reasonable pricing. This place has a great look and feel. Not easy to find this old school diner vibe with a sophisticated menu today.
I thought it was unusual that the place was almost completely empty on a Saturday night, so I was a little nervous about the meal, but pleasantly surprised. The waitress was very sweet and helpful with our questions. The drinks came promptly and were delicious (Hibiscus Mule). Our food arrived timely and was hot. I got the shrimp and grits, which needed a little spice, but the waitress brought me hot sauce (3 options) and it was great. We had a party of 9 and everyone ate their entire meal and said it was good. I am still confused as to why such a cute place with good food and drinks was so dead, but I do recommend locals try it out!
Great food and atmosphere. Loved spending the win g on the porch. Server just needed to be a little more attentive.
The fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese was the best I've ever had! And the grilled chicken with homemade fries were outstanding! I look forward to going back often!
This was the epitome of OK. Food was OK, service was fine, mimosas were OK but strong! What was the kicker for me was that the restaurant is far from Downtown Charleston and is absolutely not worth leaving that area. If you're visiting downtown, stay downtown; don't make the trek to Ms. Rose's. If you're in the area, it was fine and the price was good so I don't not recommend it.
Good ole southern hospitality at its finest! The food was we were craving.
Food was good. It was a little noisy; hard to hear conversations at times.
Fantastic as always.
The place was so great we went two nights in a row...OUTSTANDING!!! The food was incredible. My wife tried the Cucumber Martini...don’t knock it until you’ve tried it; very tasty.
This was the first time my wife and I had eaten here but it will not be our last. Had dinner on Friday night, seared scallops and shrimp n grits which was amazing, so we decided to try brunch on Sunday. Everything we tried was delicious and the service was quick and courteous. Will definitely come eat any time we are around Charleston.
The Shrimp and Grits and Fried Chicken are reason enough to make a special visit to this place. The staff was extremely friendly and even fellow patrons went out of their way to make out of town folks feel welcome. I promise you won’t regret the trip!
Food was terrible. Puréed Yukon’s were pre made and heated in microwave. Served runny as water with thick film of storage inside. Shrimp were not fresh and tasteless. Service person was functionally illiterate and did not listen. Had to keep finding her to get service. What a poor experience. Needs to be reformed under a chef who cares.
Our server, Gretchen, was wonderful. Food was very good and the prices were very reasonable.
Great service, nice staff and good good. Did not appreciate waiting for all to arrive before being seated.
Sadly as many times as we have been to Ms.Rose's this was NOT a very good experience. The brunch menu was sorely lacking in choices. I ordered Eggs Benedict in the menu description it didn't list any meat when the waitress finally came to take our order I asked she said it usually comes with a crab cake. But then said maybe they changed it since it was father's day I told her that was great I don't like crab cakes and asked for bacon to be added. Well it came out with crab cakes I took them off the eggs had no runny yolk and I was hard pressed to find any Hollandaise sauce. And it was just barely warm. My husband had Biscuits and gravy his was hot but taste wise nothing to get excited about. He ate my crab cakes and said they were over salted and very fishy tasting. We will be back and hope this was just a one off bad service bad food day.
Drinks options just ok
We won’t go back but there’s nothing specific
Great value, burger is delicious. Amazing banana cheesecake
Disappointed that they were OUT of their award winning fried chicken!! Good example of classic Southern fare - casual setting good for groups.
Had an excellent brunch on our way into Charleston from the airport. Food was delicious, good service, good value. Great way to start our first visit to Charleston!
I ordered the tomato bisque. Tasty. Sweet cornbread crouton nice touch. I also ordered the shrimp and grits. Very very tasty! My husband and son ordered the fried chicken they though was great
That was my first visit and I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience. I will definitely return.
The atmosphere and service was amazing, my burger and fries were a little well done but the server did ask if I wanted it remade. I would give it another try for sure. My friend ordered the fried chicken and that was amazing. Should definitely bottle that tabasco/honey sauce!!
Wonderful Sunday brunch as always! Great food and service. Especially recommend the shrimp and grits (and that's saying a lot in Charleston), Bisquits and gravy, fish and grits, fried green tomatoes, the burgers, and the Mimosas. That's why Ms. Rose's is our go place when we have visitors from out of town, for Sunday brunch or special occasions.
We’ve partaken in the Bloody Mary bar before. We’re bummed there were no shrimp in the mix to add to our drinks this time.
Outstanding, fun place with superb food and a wonderful selection of menu items. The service was exceptional and decor is upbeat and delightful. This place suits a broad range of people and palates. Ms. Rose's is a West Ashley/Charleston gem. Try It!
Yes we had a great time and we were happy it wasn't crowded and quiet. We enjoyed our lunch and company.
We enjoyed another trip to Ms. Rose’s and were pleased with our experience as always. We enjoyed mimosa flutes, the fried chicken, mac and cheese, and the amazing Parmesan grits!
The server, Clint was very knowledgeable of the menu and cocktails. His conversations with us were enlightening as well as informative. Will will visit this establishment often when we are in town. Our meal was superb and the service was great.
If you're willing to step away from Charleston's historic district this is a great stop
