Birthday for my wife.
Only reason I didn’t give 5 Stars for ambiance was certainly NOT their fault! Pretty darn good for COVID protocols!

This place is a treasure. I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed in the service nor my food. Everything has been fresh and well prepared. Yesterday I really treated myself and got their chilean sea bass for lunch. I didn't even need to eat dinner that evening because I seemed to have gotten a really large large portion and ate it all. I have never had chilean sea bass so well prepared with a sauce that complimented not only the fish but everything else on the plate. And, the chef really knows when to take the heat away from the fish so it doesn't overcook, The server's name was Deyan and he complemented my meal perfectly! The noise level and ambiance got low marks only because I had to give an honest review. But, I am explaining why I did give them low marks in those areas. How enticing can it be to dine in a tent on the street: and, to add to that, they are remodeling the space next door while I was eating my lunch. These distractions were unavoidable. And, to be honest, I welcomed the chance to be able to support this establishment so that I can continue to enjoy this marvelous menu for many more years to come. Can't wait to see the new space, guys. Thanks again for the amazing meal.

Great experience overall. Loved the selection, both for sushi and other menu items. Everything that came out was fresh and very tasty. Sat out in the heated tent and was very comfortable... no coat needed. Will be back.

Nabuki is hands down the best sushi place I have ever been too. Always a great experience dining here. And I love that the servers are always so knowledgeable and can recommend great options when we are looking to try something new.

The service was phenomenal along with the food - attentive, fun, well-informed waiters made our night amazing. The crispy tuna is a secret off-menu item that made me feel like I died and went to heaven. We bought a Nabuki sweatshirt because we had such a great night! Thanks team xo

Insulting Service- too bad, food was good.

I have never written a bad review, nor felt the need to. Our experience was terrible. We were a family of four sitting outside for dinner on a Thursday evening. Three generations from 22-79. The wait times for initial service, then food, was not acceptable. After 50 minutes, I went inside, told the manager I think the outside server needs help- and he laughed at me. He acted as if I had some nerve. Finally, 75 minutes, the appetizers and sushi food arrived all at once, except soup came 5 minutes later. The waiter kept a TOO casual tone, trying to explain they were swamped with take away orders.

At that time, my 79 year old mother, a former GM of a Hilton hotel, told him the service was terrible, asked for the check, and his reply was “Rock and Roll - Heard” (can’t make this up, can I?) - then 15 minutes later brought the check over, slammed it down to this 79 year old, and said “Here you GO, Honey Bun!” REALLY?? Insulting.

The food was good, but 4 rolls of sushi, lettuce wraps and 2 bowls of Miso should have been PACED better, like a good restaurant and server would. All at once, the food barely fit on the small round table outside.

On the way out, my mother told the hostess. The manager was certainly not going to listen. The young hostess was lovely, kind and said all the right things. She was the best person we experienced. My guess is her parents, not Nabuki, trained her to be kind and respectful.

I would reconsider dining at Nabuki.

The hostesses were able to accommodate our outdoor request even though I mistakenly reserved a table indoors. The tables were spaced appropriately. Our server was personable and informed on dietary needs. The drinks (spicy marg) and rolls (specifically, the Stanley Cup) were outstanding. The tent was a little warm and a few times food was delivered to our table incorrectly but all in all it was a positive experience under the circumstances. Some things took a while but understandable.

Our family loves sushi, and Nabuki is my favorite local place for sushi outside of the city. Due to COVID, they have had to space out the tables and took over the store space next door to accommodate social distancing. The service was fantastic, and our meal was delicious and our best thus far. Unfortunately, the scented candles they were burning for some reason smelled like something out of a bad dollar-store- imitation-pot-pourri and really smelled so awful and affects how you taste the food, not to mention my husband’s allergies and aversion to smelly candles. The ambience was empty. But our server was amazing as was the food and still made it an enjoyable birthday dinner.

Absolutely fantastic. Nabuki offers a varied menu, features super fresh sushi with many other great options for non-sushi folks. Perfect for date night or a night out with friends. The food, cocktails, service and ambiance are all top notch.

Food and service were great. We were first to use the new next door space and they were still working kinks out on service and temperature.

A dessert or drink would have been nice, but we loved the food!!

Been wanting to try for awhile, finally did and was not disappointed. Food was amazing, sat in bar area and Sharon the bartender is the best. She made great recommendations on food and her drinks were just as good.

Best sushi in Illinois! Beats any place in Chicago even!

Remains the best sushi in all of Chicagoland, and is worth a trip down the street or even a train ride from the City.

The food was OK but the service was extremely slow. We placed our entire order at once and it took 2 hours to complete dinner. The appetizers came out about 30 minutes later but in piecemeal fashion. Then, about 45 minutes later, one entre was served but it was at least 5 minutes before the other two came out - meaning, it was cold by the time everyone received their entre. And, that was the only hot dish - the other two were cold sushi dishes. Oh well. There are other sushi places to visit.

We had a cocktail and enjoyed a quick bite before we had to be somewhere. It was so fresh and yummy.

The food was good however the service and ambiance was not so good. If you want to sit in the dark or listen to other guests talk super loud at each other than it’s good. Not a place to have an intimate conversation. The hostess was very disengaged and when we were seated by the door in the dark. She didn’t seem to care when we asked to be moved to an area that wasn’t dark. It took awhile for our server to appear and our drinks later. The food when it did arrive was very good. Not sure I’ll go back, maybe for lunch but definitely not for dinner.

We went to Nabuki during restaurant week and it was fabulous. A great deal for the price and the food was tasty.
