Fantastic service from the staff at this location. They always make you feel so welcome. Food was perfect, had the specials and also wine of the month.

This was my second time in Chicago and my second visit to this Gibson's location. It was a Saturday night so it was packed and the ambiance was very energetic. It was loud, as expected, but it was not annoyingly loud. The food was outstanding, everything from the salads to the dessert. The hustle and bustle of the wait staff was constant. My only, I won't even calling a complaint, I will say my annoyance with the evening was the way I felt rushed by the gentleman who put the bread plates out and cleared cups and dishes. We weren't even done with our salads or dinners or dessert and he was asking to clear the plates. For what I paid for those dinners I was not going to let him throw any of it away. I felt as soon as we sat down he was throwing bread plates in front of us, literally throwing. I had wine left and he took my glass away. I understand that tables need to be turned over but it's not like we were done and paid for and just sitting wasting time. We were still eating and drinking. I was meeting my family who drove 300 miles to meet us in Chicago to watch my son in a sports tournament. We wanted to enjoy our evening for a few hours together. Overall it was a fantastic evening and we will definitely go back next time we're in Chicago, but it's the little things like that that can ruin a celebratory dinner.

PIACERE MIO is a gem in an area where there are so many choices. What makes it so special is the combination of people who really seem to love their job, and a chef who really knows how to cook! Service is very efficient, but also relaxed…courses are never rushed. Portions are the perfect size, with appetizers easy to share. Unique items are the stuffed figs, and the stuffed zucchini blossoms…which they seem to have year round! The beet salad is lovely and also shareable. For entrees, the salmon is always perfect, the short ribs with luscious creamy risotto is off the charts, and all the pasta dishes perfect. Our favorite is the Rustico! The owners and management here seem to care about everything..especially their guests, and food quality. In our opinion, the best food in the area. Reservations recommended!

I recently celebrated my birthday at 1701 on a Sunday for brunch, and I must say, it was an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for a special occasion. The highlight of my meal was the Catfish—it was cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and tender, flavorful inside. The Lamb Chops were equally impressive, perfectly seasoned and cooked to the ideal temperature. Every bite was a delight, and the quality of the food truly elevated my birthday celebration. The staff were attentive and friendly, making sure everything was just right throughout my visit. Their excellent service added a personal touch that made the experience even more memorable. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special day or simply enjoy a phenomenal brunch, 1701 is definitely the spot. I can’t wait to return and try more of their delicious dishes! We enjoyed the food and the service was nice. It wasn't too crowded, probably cause it was after Thanksgiving and the drinks were good too.
