Nectar - Philadelphia
Everything about this restaurant is outstanding! The food and drinks are delicious, and the service is excellent. Our waiter recommended some dishes which enabled us to make the perfect choices. I also like that the owner is present and hands-on. It's obvious that he cares very much about his customers.
First time I ever had to send my dish back because it was cold. Followed up by the server never returning to our table to ask how we were doing. Very unsatisfactory dinner.
I love Nectar! The edamame dumplings and Pad Thai are my favorites! Our server was also wonderful. My only complaint is the noise level. It's almost impossible to hear the people sitting across the table from you. It's always too loud. Don't know how they could remedy this though.
Excellent! We had 6:30 reservations and were able to enjoy a wonderful dining experience of 3 hours. Not rushed in anyway whatsoever. Our server, Wills, had excellent recommendations that everyone enjoyed. World class!
My son is addicted to the Chicken Pad Thai- ate one there and took one home. Service was excellent as always.
Food well prepared but took 40 min for appetizer to arrive.
Wait staff pleasant and knowledgeable .
Interesting and inventive menu.
Very loud and difficult to have conversation — music selection did not invoke calm (disco trendy vs. more mental feng shui)
The food was very good and we didn't have to wait for it too long to receive it. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant.
Server not attentive. Food not interesting.
The food was just as wonderful as it always is! Creative combination of flavors and heat! I do not think you can get a bad dish here!
The decor is fun. wait staff was noticeably variable and made for amusement: odd voices, different mannerisms and a bus staff that was always moving without purpose. Appetizers were disappointing. the sushi and dim sum trays were same base flavors for each tray, and you had either sushi or dim sum. the impression is you are getting factory built appetizers, and the dishes tasted as such. the wonton was burnt, the dim sum was rubbery and the spring rolls oily. unacceptable quality. the wild boar noodle dish had three stands of wild boar and excessive chinese sausage. The salmon entree was praised by my wife. For the price, there is nothing to warrant a return. It is too hit or miss to have return value. Is it worth trying if you have never gone? I would not recommend it, but I would not argue about it.
Fantastic upbeat ambience that still allows you to carry on a conversation. Food is outstanding, especially the very fresh and unique sushi menu. Great table service. However, the service at the bar was awful for a restaurant of this quality. Our bartender could use some training in how to acknowledge and engage customers, maybe even smile.
OK food; nice ambiance; average service
Food and service were excellent. Be prepared to shout across the table since it gets pretty loud
I always have Nectar on my top 5 list for local restaurants. I haven’t been for a while so when my nephew called and said he was free for dinner I suggested Nectar and it did not disappoint. One of the main reasons I have gone in the past is the service It is great , especially Bob! He has to be one of the nicest most genuine people I have ever met. The food was amazing. We started with the pork dumplings...heaven. Then we had the King Kong roll and a spicy tuna roll, both were great. I had lobster Pad Thai and my nephew had a filet, shrimp, and scallop stir fry. He said it was some of the best scallops he had ever eaten. This restaurant consistently produces top quality food with exceptional service.
Service was not great and I don’t the food was as good as it’s been in previous years.
We had a very nice dinner but I wish the chefs would change up the menu a little. Even with seasonal specials the menu has less variety then I’d like. Plus several special are too pricy. The white sangria was delicious. Bento dim sum is a favorite. Service was a bit rushed and as always the noise level is way too loud.
We loved Nectar. The food is delicious and with excellent presentation. I wanted to try everything on the menu. Our waiter helped us selections to share and we were not disappointed. The decor is urban Zen chic with high ceilings and earthy colors. There is an outdoor patio in the back. We enjoyed our lunch and want to come back for dinner. I am so happy to find this restaurant and I believe you will not be disappointed.
Really impressed with Nectar. Waiter was fantastic and informative as the menu is quite extensive - we tried all the recommended dishes and flavors were perfect in every dish. Ambiance was wonderful. A mixture of date night couples and business groups. Would recommend to anyone who has a flavored palette and is likes to try dishes out of the norm. Cocktails were great too!
Love this place. My wife and I agree that this is our favorite restaurant. The vibe and the atmosphere is indescribable.
Delicious! Went for lunch with a group and everything was tasty and beautifully presented. Staff was smart, efficient and smooth. Definitely recommend.
I have been customer for 15 years. The food and the service are incredible . Bob has a the best server we have ever had.
And Chef Pat is a world class talent
I wasn’t very impressed. The server was nice but not attentive. The food was good but, for the price, the portions where small. Not sure I’d return.
The food and drinks were great. It’s a bit pricey for what you get. But love the ambiance. It’s a nice place to meet friends too. The service was great too. When they realized they forgot a meal, they whipped it up pretty fast. I will definitely go back.
Great food and service
Good food value except for drinks
Scotch on rocks $21.60 ???
Appetizer was ok (calamari was a little tough). The pad Thai was excellent and the fillet was average at best. The desert was not good at all. I dont remember what it was called but it was 4 different chocolate items (cookie, truffles, ice cream and tiramisu). The drinks were only ok, especially considering what they charge for drinks.
The server was nice and polite but disappeared for very long periods of time. At the end of the night, I had to go to the bar to get my check.
Interesting menu with unique combos. Shared a dim sum bento box appetizer and it was delish. Entrees were all excellent. Great service.
Bob is the best waiter and always good food
This is our annual dinner for celebrating both birthday's and wedding anniversary. Nectar never disappoints and we were more than satisfied.
While appetizers and desserts were delicious, neither of us enjoyed our entrees. I was able to eat only half of mine (chicken tasted like half- cooked gelatinous globs); my dining partner left a good third (pad Thai lacked flavor and sauce). When explaining our disappointment to the waiter, there was a limp apology. A better restaurant would have gone a step further, especially to ensure a return visit with a discount voucher or percentage off that day’s bill. Neither of us will be returning.
Absolutely the best restaurant on the Main Line. Everything was delicious. Plus they have an amazing wine list!
Nectar always delivers an awesome meal with award winning service. Thank you for all you do.
Delicious food. Great appetizers and mains. Love the octopus and edamame dumplings to start and then the beef tenderloin with chili. Chocolate Bento box for two is super cute for desert.
Great seasonal cocktails, amazing sushi, and as always, the donuts are a must for dessert
Love nectar and Bob is the best waiter on the main line!
We always feel so welcome! The food is outstanding & variety makes us return again and again!!!
WE DINE AT NECTAR FREQUENTLY! ALWAYS EXCELLENT! GREAT FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE!
I RECOMMEND TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY!
Great food. A bit of a distracted waiter but fine overall. It’s been a couple of years since I was there and my guest made the same observation. We both wondered why we hadn’t been back earlier and promised ourselves that we’d return sooner next time.
Food and service were very good as usual. I found the wine selection a bit tenuous with many obscure brands that needed defining. I would suggest a few more recognizable Chards and Pinot Nior's that are more of a known commodity.
Best oysters we have ever eaten!! Loved the mignonette!
