Freezing If you are going to do outdoor dining you need to figure out the heating to make at least bearable

ND made the best of it considering Covid restrictions! Same great sushi and fabulous service.

The food was just meh. The menu is very limit, which I understand it changes but it seemed to be a hodge podge of things two fish entrees, a burger, a pasta dish, a steak entree and a chicken entree. No specials. The appetizers weren’t very diverse either. The last time I was there about two years ago there was a better selection of dishes. Maybe it’s just COVID, but for what they offered, I didn’t feel like it was worth the time. Hoping things approve, but I can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon.

Good overall selection of wines and food choices. I chose the halibut which was marinated in Miso. To be picky it was a bit over cooked and to my taste, salty. The Miso soup was also salty. Our table service by Harmony was very good. I would definitely return and maybe ask to go lighter on the seasoning.

Great dining experience but menu was limited and pretty basic. Hasn't changed much but it's probably related to COVID and the need to keep limited options.

We had a very nice time. The complimentary champagne for our birthdays was a nice touch

There is no bread on the menu...even if you order an Italian dish...no bread!! The chicken entree took 1 hour to cook. We were seated at so small a table one could barely have all the dishes on it. The menu was EXTREMELY limited and way over priced. Go there if you're desperate and can't go anywhere else...and if you don't mind paying $49.00 for codfish.

Great meal - the Pasta was absolutely AMAZING. The only criticism is that we were seated for dinner and they refused to allow drinks before we ordered food. While I understand that drinks and food have to go together - I have never had any other restaurant not bring a round of drinks to us while we looked over the menu. It really felt more like they were doing it as a way to rush people through a meal and open the table up to for another guest and not so much for the reasons they give.

Otherwise the meal was good.

Very enjoyable evening. Our server was outstanding. Very attentive. My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. We will be going there again soon.

Next Door is the best! The miso soup, sushi and sashimi bento box and non-alcoholic piña colada were excellent, especially the snapper, kampachi and chuturo sashimi! The white chocolate lotus flower and honeydew sorbet were so heavenly, Sous Chef Sarah is so creative! Thank you so much!

I gave you a good review because service, food etc. were excellent. I do have a concern, however. The Gentleman working in the middle of the kitchen, possibly preparing sushi seems to have a problem keeping his mask over his nose. It hangs down so low you can almost see his mouth. When a manager appears the mask goes up. This has been a problem on our last three visits. I will never order sushi.

It has been months since we out to dinner. We decided to go out to dinner to Next Door. It was an amazing experience, and it nice to remember how much we enjoyed fine dining.
The service was excellent, the food and the wines, unbelievable. The staff made us feel safe and comfortable.

We were not aware that the menu was primarily Sushi but there were more than enough alternatives and everything we had was delicious. Our server, Harmony was excellent, and impressively knowledgeable about the wines they serve and wine in general. A pleasant surprise. We will be back!

Next Door is excellent. The friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, strict Covid safety measures and delicious food are four wonderful reasons to go out to dinner and feel human again. Thank you!

What an incredible dining experience in a COVID world. As always, Wegmans gave 100% from service to departure. The sushi, sea bass and burgers were all a hit. Note to Wegmans...we’d love a mini Wegmans or fast causal restaurant in the 19th Ward / UofR area! Thanks again for a wonderful birthday meal!

Sanitation and safety measures, best I’ve seen

This was the first time we dined out since the start of the pandemic, so I was a bit nervous. The staff was wonderful and they took all sorts of precautions that made me feel safe, while at the same time making it feel as normal an experience as possible.
The food was outstanding. The outdoor space was nice, but the sun was blinding. I suggest that if you want to eat outside, you make a reservation for late evening.

As always it was a pleasure to dine here! Amazing service and delicious food.

Our waitress was very slow. Food was good but WAY OVER PRICED!! We had a gift card to use... the 50.00 card didn’t go very far. There were 4 of us and a $200.00 bill.. 2 had burgers so figure that out🧐

Another fantastic meal at Next Door. 3 of our party of 4 had the King Crab Platter and all were thrilled! 4 great selections on the platter and all were delicious! John our server was very courteous and helpful throughout our entire experience. Can't wait to return.

I always love Next Door. We go very, very often. I do miss the previous menu though, so if you havent been in a few months; just know they did change things around including the Bento Boxes, Sushi Roll offerings, and Entree's. When my husband and I went we were disappointed in the change in appetizers. But, still considering, I will continue to go and recommend to family and friends. The spicy margarita and martinis were outstanding as well as the desserts.

I’m always happy and grateful to be able to come to Next Door and unwind with amazing sushi and wonderful staff. COVID safety procedures are strict, thorough and consistently enforced as they should be. This safe and relaxing environment makes an evening here even more enjoyable. Thank you!

Great meal with friends. Alyssa was very warm and inviting, felt right at home. Looking forward to coming back, that burger was outstanding as usual.

The sushi selection was miserable. I live in the center of the country and have much better options so COVID is not an excuse. My wife didn’t like her hamburger or miso soup at all. The waitress was wonderful. The prices were ridiculous.

Next door is my favorite restaurant in the Rochester area! I just love the fresh food, the unique menu, and the cocktails. We just went for my sisters birthday and it was an outstanding meal. I always love their sushi and bento boxes! Their ice cream and desserts are spectacular. I can’t recommend this place enough.

We were seated next to the kitchen and it was extremely loud, the waiter hardly checked on us and the food was cold.

Everything was great! Shout out to our server Laura and our bartender Trisha for making our experience awesome. :)

There is no better server than John. He is informative, attentive and a genuinely caring person. Always appreciate having him take care of us.!!!
