The food was good, came out hot and tasty. Our waitress was brand new and didn’t know the menu, but she was nice and tried. That’s the nature of help on the Cape. We got exactly what we ordered even though she did not write it down.
Only two vegetarian main dishes that are tasty. No appetizer or salads without paying for meat you don't want.
As die-hard fans of NYAJ’s over the past 20 years, we arrived in Hyannis looking forward to a relaxing, delicious meal at a favorite spot. Intrigued by the renovation — making the place smaller and far more open — we noted the shorter menu to match, an apparent trend in this (almost) post-pandemic world.
The wait staff was excellent. The crowd was sparse; we had headed there after finding no parking at our first choice and were surprised that NYAJ tables were so plentiful. We had the haddock, and the salmon. The former was overdone, and the latter pretty good, although presentation for both dishes struck us as abysmal. The app we shared — bang bang shrimp — tasted pretty good, too.
That said, the meal was far more expensive than in the past ($77, without tip, with one app and no alcohol). The meal overall was not bad but far less carefully and beautifully presented. Examples: the iconic bread and oil that we’d always enjoyed at NYAJ was smaller, cold and not very appetizing; the salmon and broccoli rabe arrived looking anemic, and the napkins are now paper.
With the exception of the price, NYAJ’s has become the epitome of YAJ’s. Sorry to see it go, especially since it seems to be a corporate decision to downgrade.
The service and food were good as usual.
Nice night out for dinner!
Menu could use a few new items - but always something to choose from - nice variety.
We have long loved Joes and have been to quite a few over the years, so we were excited to go back post pandemic. But we were very disappointed. Our favorite dishes were not nearly as delicious and the prices were much higher. Only the service was good.
The service and food were great as always.
Our waitress informed us there were only two waitresses staffed at the time we were there (6pm). Service was slow but we can’t blame her.
Food was good. Service was poor. We didn't have place settings for quite awhile, even after getting bread and spread. We were asked if we wanted more bread. We said yes. Then we didn't get any. Waitress seemed distracted or disinterested. One of the plates of food came back tepid so must have been sitting awhile waiting for the other one to be done.
The waitress was very friendly and the service was great.
All our food came to us at the right temperature.
My experience was very pleasant , I brought a very good friend with me too. The waitress was very friendly and prompt. The service was great.
Our food came to our table at a reasonable time and the food was hot.
good food and drinks but hey its a chain, better than most!
As this is a relatively newly remodeled restaurant, suffering like most from Covid, it's hard to really say how the experience is compared to the previous version. The food is, as always, slightly different and good. It is hard to guess, but the new atmosphere is colder in feel and I suspect will be quite loud when restaurants begin to fill up again.
I have dined at many Not your average Joe’s and this was by far my most disappointing meal. And the other in my party felt the exact same
It was very easy to reserve a table online and it was ready when we arrived. The restaurant was very clean, patrons were spread out and the wait staff was friendly. Dinner was delicious and it was so nice to be able to go out again. Highly recommend!
Good quality and service for chain restaurant - quick bite for dinner
Consistent, excellent food & service
We went in and the table was filthy, the floors were beyond dirty. Asked our server to bring something to wipe the table with, she brings a wipe and throws it on the table and leaves with so much attitude. Comes back, never smiles to a point that my 9 and 6 year old were shocked. Terrible experience!
Delicious food. Varied menu selections. Great service. And the BEST complimentary bread and dipping sauce in the world. Worth visiting just for the bread!
Good food and good service.
Tuna app was good. Fries were subpar. Carrot cake was dry. $100 bill I expected more.
Have always enjoyed dining a Joes As a frequent patron of Joes Would like to see more specials on menu now ! Our server was friendly and did a great job of taking care of us ! Love the wine selection as well! Thank you
Unfortunately, the Hyannis NYAJ is in reality below average. I was so disappointed. The "ambience" is horrendous. It felt like a cafeteria without the food lines. Their famous bread was cold. Food was so-so. Come to think of it, I HAVE had better at the local cafeteria.
Food was ok, nothing special. I've had better dinners there before. Shrimp scampi did not have much flavor. Meatloaf was ok. Kind of pricey, but then again so is everything else on cape cod. Waiter wasn't very personable. Wouldn't rush back.
Confusing on tghe Birthday coupon. Also missed the half sanwich and soup by 8 minutes.
Great food. Great service COVID safe seating. Highly recommend
Good food and good service!
Food and service were good. The only issue was the very bright lighting at our table. Would have preferred it to be more subdued.
We sent back the Buffalo tenders they did not look appetizing at all. They were burnt and looked like turds.
The server would ask if we needed anything , then went to 3 other tables before coming back without the item he asked us if we needed( ketchup, straws, napkins)
Always a delicious great experience here! Food is always fresh and delicious.
Outdoor dining and indoor kind of depressing. This used to be a very popular mall restaurant and nobody seems to be going there anymore. Yes, there is a pandemic, but many restaurants in Hyannis have been doing quite well. Menu has improved a bit, but still needs choices. Asian Salad, Scallops, Lemon Chicken? Where did it go? Staff is overworked and not very enthusiastic.
Services was insanely fast, but we did not feel rushed. Waitress was accommodating to allergy needs, personable, and made us laugh. Very good experience.
Reduced menu during pandemic has lessened the appeal of Joe’s. Too few entree choices. Staffing is too minimal to give good service.
Birthday coupon always appreciated!!
Extremely limit menu due to COVID, such a small menu I couldn’t find anything I would want/order. We ended up leaving due to lack of any options. Hopefully they can add some more options.
Never been but pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was great, food was delicious and I highly recommend the Spiked Watermelon Lemonade. I would go back again and again!!
I dined outside and it really needed to be swept. The impossible burger was overtaken by its toppings. While good I still don’t know what an impossible burger tastes like.
Excellent service, with all the necessary Covid-19 precautions. Bread was hot and delicious, and entrees were perfect!
