Not Your Average Joe's Hyannis
Turkey Avocado Club
Applewood smoked turkey, avocado and country bacon with lettuce, tomato and mayo on toasted multigrain bread. Gluten-free version available
Grilled atlantic salmon with seasonal veg and rice pilaf. Gluten-free version available
We sent back the Buffalo tenders they did not look appetizing at all. They were burnt and looked like turds.
The server would ask if we needed anything , then went to 3 other tables before coming back without the item he asked us if we needed( ketchup, straws, napkins)
Always a delicious great experience here! Food is always fresh and delicious.
Outdoor dining and indoor kind of depressing. This used to be a very popular mall restaurant and nobody seems to be going there anymore. Yes, there is a pandemic, but many restaurants in Hyannis have been doing quite well. Menu has improved a bit, but still needs choices. Asian Salad, Scallops, Lemon Chicken? Where did it go? Staff is overworked and not very enthusiastic.
Services was insanely fast, but we did not feel rushed. Waitress was accommodating to allergy needs, personable, and made us laugh. Very good experience.
Reduced menu during pandemic has lessened the appeal of Joe’s. Too few entree choices. Staffing is too minimal to give good service.
Birthday coupon always appreciated!!
Extremely limit menu due to COVID, such a small menu I couldn’t find anything I would want/order. We ended up leaving due to lack of any options. Hopefully they can add some more options.
Never been but pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was great, food was delicious and I highly recommend the Spiked Watermelon Lemonade. I would go back again and again!!
I dined outside and it really needed to be swept. The impossible burger was overtaken by its toppings. While good I still don’t know what an impossible burger tastes like.
Excellent service, with all the necessary Covid-19 precautions. Bread was hot and delicious, and entrees were perfect!
We appreciated the outdoor seating, allowing us to order our favorite jambalaya.
Although at 8pm reservation was available, the restaurant closes at 8pm. The service we got was average, they made us feel very rushed.
Need to get off the temp. menu. comparable resturants are back to their full menu.
the Hyannis re-model was a disappointment
We love NYAJ’s. The food is always great. It’s my number one spot for a date night, anniversary or birthday etc. Any excuse will work to get a night at NYAJ’s!
Still a good place for good food, but we liked the pre-renovation menu and set-up better. Bring back the spring rolls with peanut sauce.
Food was great, service not so good...
Good. A bit cold due to air conditioner
Wasn’t aware they slimmed down the menu so much both things we wanted for dinner were not available. Bread was good though at least.
Food was just ok. Nothing special or creative. Service was average as well. Limited menu due to COVID? Maybe a better place to sit at bar when able to.
A pleasant surprise on a stop up the coast. Fantastic staff. They are taking social distancing and the health and safety of their diners seriously. The food and cocktails were top notch!
This was by far the worst customer service I ever experienced. Waiter slammed bread on table never said hello and told me his name. Rarely checked on me served me drinks without straws. The food was pale. Jambalaya with no spice or flavor. Tasted like a lunch meal and it cost $25. Please unless you enjoy bland experiences stay away from Average Joes. They are seriously average don’t say I didn’t warn you
Good start. A bit more ambiance, please, and attention to detail. I would have liked to see plastic cocktail and water cups, plastic silverware, and plastic plates.....at least for now. Can’t be too careful!
I felt secure seeing your hand gel and extra wipes both inside and out!
If your going to do outside dining at not your average joes, forget it terrible idea! Limited menu, you get nothing for bread anymore and didn’t ask if we wanted more, prices are super high and portions are terrible!
We have been going to NYAJ's within MA from week two of opening. Since renovation of NYAJ's in Hyannis, it has been a big disappointment. We keep saying we will give it another chance and this past weekend finally gave up. The food is not of the same quality, the noise level too loud, as the restaurant is too close to the bar area, and the servers are bordering rude. One server asked me why I did not want to save the turtles when I asked for a straw for a drink with a lot of fruit in it. For years, we have always been frequent guests of NYAJ's - yes, I am disappointed.
It was a small family gathering for my daughters birthday. We hesitated going out because of the corona virus but our server was very conscientious about keeping things clean and careful not to touch things to keep germ free. She was also extremely friendly. The food was delicious as always
Fun lunch with a friend. Good quality and variety. Nice host, super friendly. Give him a raise. Lovely African-American gentleman really sold the new specials with enthusiasm and fun.
Vegetarian rice bowl was flavorful and hot. Cranberry chicken was dry, but the sauce was very good.
We had a reservation and were going to be a little late. When I called to tell them they were very nice and said not to worry. They told the hostess and we were seated immediately when we got there. I wanted to order the salmon but did not like the sides and did not like the sides and was able to switch them. It was delicious!
NYAJ is usually a great experience from their greeting through desert. Unfortunately this was not the case on Primary Tuesday! We decided to cast or votes for the needed Democratic nominee then grab a bite since we typical love 1/2 price burger night. They were empty at 6pm so you'd assume we'd receive top notch service but that was not the case. Our waitress seemed too bored to be there, our burgers were quite small (way smaller diameter than actual bun), followed by dirty dishes sitting at our table after paying the bill and departing the restaurant.
We have been to NYAJ many times and ordered our favorites this time around. We shared the tuna wontons appetizer which is certainly large enough for two. We both got the Jambalaya and it was wonderful. The rice was piled in the center of the dish which worked for but of us as we didn't want all of it so we could just take what we wanted. I highly recommend this restaurant when you are in Hyannis.
This is a great atmosphere for families. We brought our 3-year-old, and NYAJ offered a cute little game that was quiet and kept him occupied more than the typical crayon/coloring activity at other restaurants.
We enjoyed our meals, which came out in a timely manner. It was a very nice dining experience.
Always consistently good food
Reasonable amount of time from order to getting food
We have been to Not Your Average Joe’s for years now but with the new changes we are even more impressed. It is definitely our go to a restaurant whenever were in Hyannis.
Good food and service
Good food, average service and high noise level
A fun place for groups of all ages. The menu selection is terrific, especially if you are a Gluten Free Vegetarian like myself. Typically I have 1 or 2 things to choose from, there were numerous options - I even had a hard time deciding. Such a treat.
I enjoyed the Nacho Average Nachos. They were a bit better at the soft opening, but still delicious. The Fat Tire beer is just great and is my new favorite. My wife really enjoyed her turkey avocado club sandwich (two slices of bread).
As always we thoroughly enjoy having dinner at Joe’s will highly recommend it and come back again and again
I got a gift card for a Christmas gift so I used it Thursday night.
I or the Backyard Cheeseburger medium well and it was cooked
Nice meal on New Year’s Eve!
Our server Danielle was excellent... food as always is consistently good. The only "downside" was the uncomfortably loud music at 11:45 a.m. Looking around the restaurant, I spied lots of "seniors" and families with young children so I find it hard to understand the "night-club vibe" of that music. When I mentioned this to Danielle, (we are senior citizens and find it hard to talk over that kind of music), she volunteered to turn the music down... instant relief!
I just think that restaurants need to be more aware of the noise-level that already exists with conversation and scurrying wait staff delivering plates and ...TURN DOWN THE MUSIC PLEASE!
