Nubar is doing a good job serving dinner on their patio. The service is friendly and good. The salmon I had was very salty but the two other people I dined with liked their entry very much.
Great place for dinner! The patio is lovely and protected from the street. Excellent food and service. Highly recommend
Super chic, and the rose was delicious! Would go back!
Nubar is one of my go to favorites! The summer salmon entrée with the toasted sesame cucumber relish over black rice is to die for! You also must try the crab beignets!!!!
No meal here is complete with out chef Mark's tres leche cake.
Thank you to our amazing server Gabriel!
Pleasant discovery for outdoor dining just off the Cambridge Common. In the courtyard of the Sheraton Commander, the socially distanced tables are all well-shaded and would be protected from light rain, traffic noise is minimal. Food was prepared fresh, delicious, and responsible portions. Staff very polite and professional. Would return !
Thank you for your feedback! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed yourself, and were pleasantly surprised by our outdoor patio space. We look forward to having you dine with us again soon!
It was okay! A cozy location with good food. Not outstanding, but not bad. Just your regular restaurant.
We had a wonderful time, the food was great, the staff looked after us very well. They were very conscious of maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. I felt comfortable here.
First dining experience during COVID-situation. Good food/drink menu and felt comfortable eating at the patio.
The restaurants were now just opening up and last minute decided to go out. Assembly Row had very long waits so I jumped on Open Table and found Nubar and liked the menu. They had one last reservation in 20 minutes so we grabbed it and went. We were seated right away, fast friendly service and tasty meal. We had the chips and dip. The Nubar burger and Chicken sandwich! Also, it was very clean and we felt safe as this was our first dinner out in three months. Will go again
Had a nice lunch here with my colleagues. Thank you
Good food, quiet surroundings, friendly service, this slightly out of the way Harvard square eatery is a find
Everything was great! Love the fireplace area of the lounge :)
Not as good as in the past, but still a pleasant meeting place. Food can be improved.
The salmon was delicious. Atmosphere was nice, but just a little bit noisy.
The steak I ordered was tough and dry and while they offered another dish the replacement took until my partner’s meal was finished and was not a pretty and tiny.
Nubar is very close to several good music concert locations, ..and they are aware of it as well as many diners. So, it's a great plance to dine leisurely and wlll before the concerts
Valentine’s Day can get crazy!
I've been meaning to try this place for a while now. I finally went their for Valentine's Day post making a reservation. I had a really nice experience. The cocktails were very tasty. We ordered a beef burger and a black bean burger for dinner and they were both good. The highlight for me were the fries! We finally ordered the lemon panna cotta which was so light and refreshing.
Overall good food, bbq lamb ribs were a favorite. However, the clam bisque separated - not a great look.
Service was good, but staffing for Valentine’s Day seemed light and our server was very busy and it took a while to get back to us.
We went to Nubar to grab a bite after work and before listening to music at Longy School of Music. Food, service, atmosphere and location were excellent. Fit the purpose and we will consider going back again.
Noise continues to be a problem, not limited to Nubar (restaurants ara generally considered places to eat, when they are also places to visit and talk).
Also, I don’t recall if the deliciius chicken sandwich on the menu was listed as ‘grilled’ or not. If it does, I didn’t notice. Had I noticed, I would have requested it simply toasted, without all the oil, which would have been better for me. If the menu doesn’t mention that detail, it should.
Dinner was nice. We had a wonderful meal in a quiet corner of the restaurant. The cocktail list was extensive and creative. The food was good and tastey. The service was also good and easy. We would go back again.
I always enjoy Nubar when I am in the area. I especially enjoy the salmon.
Not very crowded. Somewhat bland-looking space. Food ok but not very adventurous
That particular night, Nubar was hosting a large cocktail-style party (maybe 40 people) in the main room, and it was deafening. Because of this, we asked to be seated in the separate new room facing Concord Ave. Even so, the noise was disruptive, and we asked the that the glass doors be closed (other tables thanked me when I made the request). Nonetheless, whenever a waiter opened the door to enter the room, our conversation had to stop because the noise was level became intolerable again. The whole experience was frankly miserable. Later, another party, this one of about 16 people, were seated in that same Concord Avenue room. That was the end of it. We had our food packed to go, skipped dessert, and went into the Square to have dessert and drinks elsewhere. I don't recall ever doing that anywhere before. I wouldn’t be surprised if the restaurant lost about 30 other customers in the room that night. In my opinion, I should get a full refund, and everyone else in the room that night should as well.
To the restaurant: If you are going to have two large parties, put them in the same space; for example, both inside or both outside of the Concord Ave room. The other recommendation would be to take large parties and find separate rooms in the hotel for them. The big party of 40 or so people should never have been scheduled in the restaurant space anyway, period.
I was having some health problems which severely restricted what I could eat. The waiter was very accommodating and together came up with one entree offering, plus a combination of things they had that I could eat in place of everything that came with it. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal as a result. When we got the bill, I was amazed to discover how much cheaper my meal was than if I had not made the substitutions in question.
I think this is an undiscovered gem in Harvard Square. It was quiet (I did see some reviews that found it noisy) the service was very good and the food was excellent. When I want to get a reservation at the last minute in Harvard Square on a Saturday night, I can count on Nubar
I have been there several times before - would love to see an update to the menu. Otherwise I love it.
We arrived a little late but still got sited. We chose this restaurant for our Christmas Day lunch. We saw the menu and thought it had a lot of vegetarian options which it didn’t. The buffet was rather small with limited options ie no vegetarian entrée. The tip was pre fixed although it was a buffet and it cost 18%. We found this restaurant quite pricy for the quality and variance of food it serves.
Great buffet - delicious and elegant and healthy! Warm and friendly environment. Lots of families. Service was very attentive and caring. Plan to go again next year!
Sunday brunch. Very fine selection of dishes; omelet and carving stations; sumptuous desserts.
A reliable neighborhood place that is great for pre-theatre dinner. Service is efficient and pleasant. Food is tasty —both beef burger and veggie burger were good. Prix Fixe menu is a good value. Recommended as an every day go-to restaurant.
We were unable to enjoy our meal because the large groups at the other tables were very loud.
gotta love a place that has a vegan menu — upon request, so as not to offend ...
we love NuBar and appreciate what the manager and staff did to make our get-together a good one
Nice place for tasty and reasonable dinner...especally for those attending concerts nearby.
Very glad we tried this quiet treat of a restaurant. Great meal in a slightly off the main path of Harvard square
Honestly, it was just okay all around. Not stellar, not bad....
This was a nice place for a fairly large party to have dinner following a talk. The food was good and different from other places around (although it would be nice to have another vegetarian entree). The wine was excellent. The temperature was good, but it was a little loud for some of our older party members (so I would not choose this place if I knew guests were hard of hearing)
