A friends sobriety anniversary

Long time favorite! Wonderful every time. Food is spectacular and the service is amazing. Makes for a lovely evening.

I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was at Oceanique. My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. From the time we walked to our table we were treated so well. We enjoyed the delicious 5 course tasting menu. Everything was superb tasting and right on point. We even got a visit from the chef after dinner. What a nice touch. The waitstaff were very friendly and attentive. They made me feel like a queen. I can't wait to go back and enjoy another fabulous dinner. Well done!!!

Best seafood in Chicagoland. Excellent service, diverse menu. THE BEST!

Indoor tables were properly spaced in the COVID era. The warm goat cheese and beet salad was large enough for the two of to split and it was fabulous! The whitefish and the Alaskan halibut were equally spectacular. And we loved the little dishes that were brought out between courses. Service was very attentive and helpful too.

Our waiter Will was great! Staff was extremely attentive. We did the 5 course meal deal from travel zoo, however I did feel that the wine list was very overpriced. Prices for wine were a minimum of 200% over retail. We ended up doing cocktails instead which were great however very small portions. Food was great as always!

Everything was fantastic.
The service excellent. The only reason I gave the ambiance a 3 star was we were seated outside upon our request and it was very basic. Some planters between tables or even candles on table would have been nice. The inside was very romantic when i did a walk through to the rest room.

Best dinner experience I've had in a while! Food was amazing, ambiance was amazing, and the chef even came out and had a conversation with us! It was wonderful and our families loved it! Will definitely be going back!

Shocked we have not been here before and sorry we have been missing out. Celebrated a big anniversary on a Tuesday night at the last seating but we’re happily offered the Chef’s Degustation 7 course meal with premier wine accompaniment and enjoyed 5 star dining and wine on a quiet sidewalk in Evanston. Felt very comfortable with staff who were all masked but gave us very special attention. Chef came out and chatted with us too. Not enough space to describe every dish but they were all phenomenal. Have not had such a great meal since Trotter’s, seriously. Will be back to try more of the great menu.

My wife and I had a marvelous dinner on Saturday night. As always the service is top notch, the food is like a party in your mouth. Hats off to chef Grosz for the delicious meal!! We always enjoy spending the evening at Oceanique!!

we always get the best recommendations on what sparkling and red wine we should order! And the food is consistently excellent. And the staff is knowledgeable, polite and there when you need them but not intrusive at all. This has been a favorite of ours for several years.

One of the finest meals I've had in a very long time. We had the 7 course chef's degustion for my girlfriend's birthday. Exquisite, delicious, beautifully presented food. Delicious wine pairings with each. Extraordinary from start to finish. Entirely worth the pain it takes to get to Evanston from anywhere ;-)

As usual, the service was attentive but not invasive. The food was excellent. Covid-19 caused us to sit outside, but Oceanique made that a pleasant experience.

Oceanique is my favorite restaurant in Illinois and I have been to restaurants all over Chicago. Mark the head chef is the coolest guy on earth and gave us free plates. Will go back again in a heart beat! Can't beat 1$ oysters.

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again: this is a Michelin-Star experience hiding out in Evanston. Everything about it, top shelf service, drinks, incredible food, and an absolutely world-class approach. I’ve done them all and this has become my favorite in all of greater Chicago. Yes, I mean all, and yes I mean favorite. Go to NYC, San Francisco, or the Gold Coast, there’s nothing better anywhere.

Great food! Great service! We had a Groupon for the 5 course chef’s dinner which made it a real value. Looking forward to dining here again.

Fabulous wine list

The Chef “Mark” was very nice, he comped us two special appetizers , came out and introduced himself lovely human being .our waiter was excellent she was very attentive in a comfortable way. The bus boy kept my water glass full with chilled water. There were other couples dining in other tables at as safe distance “Corona Virus “ and they seemed to be immersed in a wine induced conversation while enjoying their great food in a 70’s chic ambience! I thoroughly love the place. A great place for a special night! We celebrated our anniversary there our waiter brought out a beautiful candle and placed four red sparkle hearts around it . Impressed!

This was our first experience with French cuisine & our wait staff was very helpful explaining the different items. The food was Outstanding, every morsel was a delight.
Each course was prepared to perfection. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

It was amazing to finally dine out again. We were one of the first customers back and were impressed with the distancing measures that the Oceanique team employed to make us feel safe. It is one of our standard favorites and was amazing again!

We had not been to Oceanique for years, despite living within walking distance. What a delight to find it had not only not gone downhill, but was even better than we remembered it. Terrific food, lovely service, and a friendly ambience that was warmer and more casual than in years past. The noise level was quite "energetic" (very funny that the review's star scale rating won't let you say "loud"), but not terrible. We had a great time. Will go back soon!

Good food. Fair price with a Groupon. Unfortunately, we had a very noisy party seating close by - made conversation difficult.

Comfortably elegant ambiance. Nice selection offered within the 5 course tasting dinner. Perfect pacing of the 5 courses. Everything delicious and remarkably fresh. Pairing of flavors distinctive and complementary. Left feeling well-satisfied. Catherine was an attentive and gracious server. Good value for the Groupon promotional price paid. Will return again on a seasonal basis. 😋.

Anniversary

The food is of high quality and well prepared. Ambiance is nice, not fancy. I do think that it is somewhat overpriced (including the wine list).

Great food, presentation & service- will definitely dine there again.

Great Valentines Day date night. Food, service, and overall experience were excellent. Can’t recommend highly enough. A little pricey for your average date night but a great choice for special occasions.

My only problem with this place is that I never think about it. Incredible food—literally on par with anywhere I’ve been in the world—terrific service, and a really great vibe and atmosphere. Oceanique would delight any foodie on quality, flavor and presentation. If there’s a complaint, and it’s a very minor one, it’s that the wine list is limited in scope and generally a little expensive. But so what, the whole experience here is worth every penny. Just outstanding!

Valentine’s Day

Amazing experience from the time we walked in until the time we walked out. Impeccable service. Beautiful and tasty food. I will definitely be returning. Thank you, Oceanique owners and staff.
