   Restaurant and Waiter seemed busier than normal. Waiter did not take down our entire order. Entree arrived quickly, but we were surprised since they came Before our Salads! Salad request did not make it to the order. After entrees were taken back, then when returned after salads, fish was over cooked and dry. This item is usually very good - this time is was disappointing . During dinner, the waiter asked if we would like more bread - did not bring any until after dinner was finished and plates removed.

   Oceano Bistro presents a light, airy, environment, especially when enjoying dinner from their open porch area, as we did. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Food was well-presented, creative and delicious. Limited wine list, but the Cab we chose was solid. Not much of a bar area, but plenty of seating. Definitely worth a return trip.

   My favorite place in Clayton and in the stl area- an absolute Gem! Food and service are amazing- and great value for the price! Many of the staff have worked there for years which says a lot about the ownership. Also try the sliders- yes most of the menu is geared towards seafood- but these were the best I have had in my life!

   We had a decent dinner at Oceano Bistro. Everything was above average, but nothing particularly fantastic. I think the Market Bistro salad was the best thing I had. My son had shrimp scampi and, while he ate the whole thing, I noticed that there were only 4 shrimp on the plate, that appeared to be grilled and placed on top, as opposed to having been sauteed with the sauce (or maybe they were sauteed separately, but they definitely were not incorporated with the sauce). The desserts were very good. The decor is slightly worn at the edges and could use a refresh. The service was very good.

   They didn't have room for us inside so we sat outside and they took amazing care of us! We will definitely be back! Drinks, wine, food - everything was great!

   We had friends visit us from Indy. We chose Oceano because we had been there many times over the years and always enjoyed the experience. We were seated promptly but waited 20 mins for a waiter to arrive. We tried to catch up with our friends but the noise level in the bistro necessitated shouting to hear across the table. We ordered and waited. When the food finally arrived, there were several errors, but we proceeded to eat what we got. My Ceasar salad was abysmal, limp with no dressing of any kind. We asked for some dressing which took 10 mins to arrive. My salmon was ok but no one else finished their dinner. The shrimp cocktail was especially poor. We left. In my 50 + years of dinning out around the world this ranks up there with the worst.

    Ordered Caesar salad and entre tuna. Wife sea bass. Mine was just okay, wife liked her dish. Londyn was server. Did a great job, even though he is very new to Oceano. Just a few days in the position. We requested porch seating because of low voice level and restaurant complied. Appreciate that.

    What a great experience! The owner came and checked on us, The Gen Manager Robert was fun and attentive, all of his staff was top notch! We left feeling like we were saying bye to family and this was our first time in. It definitely won't be our last!

    Great experience. There were tornado warnings while we were at dinner and our server Adam W parked my car in a nearby garage so I wouldn’t have hail damage. He then brought our car to us after dinner. I was very appreciative as it was a new car. The entire staff was attentive and gracious and the food was excellent. My daughter is new to the area so I’m sure she’ll return. Highly recommend.

    Food was good. Service was bizarre. Showed up for 7:00 pm reservation. Restaurant was 1/2 to 2/3 full. Woman at front had us seated in the very back of the restaurant along the back wall. I hated the table. I was going to ask for a different one but my wife and daughter said not to. After about 15 minutes of watching waitstaff race back and forth to other tables and no one come to us, I realized that no one was assigned to our table. I grabbed a manager running by and told him. He graciously took a drink order and told us he’d have someone come by. The next hour proceeded to be as weird. Different people coming by to take orders. New guy who appeared to be busboy serving as our waiter. He did the best he could but he was definitely not a regular waiter—he didn’t know the menu very well. Overall I just can’t figure out what happened. Why seat a party in a place in the restaurant where you have no waitstaff assigned when you have other open places in the restaurant. Very poor management as far as i’m concerned. And I was fully expecting the first drink order to be comp’d by the manager. Guess what—billed came and we were charged for everything we ordered.

    Oceano Bistro is consistently good. The wait staff is always excellent, as is the food. I have yet to have any complaints about the meals I’ve had there.
