Food at OKKO is consistently good; it is one of the two best sushi restaurants in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area. It's an energetic environment, not a quiet, serene Japanese restaurant - just to set expectations properly. Service was a bit slow but good overall. We have become regulars here and we will be back.

Oh I wish I had remembered to snap photos like I usually do. As all good Japanese restaurants know how to do, everything was not only delicious but absolutely stunning! I had the Fantasy Roll, which was so delicious and, I might add, unusually well put together. I'm very small, with a very small mouth, and I cannot eat slices of a roll in one bite and, using chopsticks, they frequently break apart as I eat them. Not so this time. I finished the entire meal, every bite, using my chopsticks and everything was just outstanding! We return home in a few days but I'm hoping to make another pit stop in there for dinner before we go. Please, please, HHI residents, frequent this great Japanese restaurant so that this chick from Indianapolis can dine there again next year! 😘

This was my first time there it was a birthday dinner and we had a six woman group we were not seated at the hibachi table and were put in a small private room so i wasn’t to disappointed with that UNTIL… first service was barely existence we never got any refills on drinks we hand to find our waitress in order to get things we needed to include pay the bill to leave the restaurant but yet gratuity was included in the bill although we pretty much did most of the leg work literally. Second the food, I’m short was cold. No one at our table had hot food it’s like it was cooked at one of the hibachi tables and once they were served and performed for then our plates were made from their leftovers or they were just left waiting to be delivered to us to long either way our food was cold to room temp at best. Lastly there are no options everything is ginger based they don’t have normal yum yum sauce it’s a ginger based also the dressings they only offer ginger no other option.

Okko has become one of our favorite restaurants on Hilton Head. They serve all manner of Asian food including Japanese, Chinese, and Thai. The modern decor is very calm and relaxing, plus the hibachi grill room is separate from the main dining space, so the noise and commotion that usually accompanies Japanese steak houses does not impact those who are there to dine on sushi or other Asian fare. The food is always outstanding. This is a sushi lovers paradise…The sushi is very fresh and beautifully presented, with a multitude of appetizer and entree choices. The Chinese and Thai dishes are delicious. We are particularly fond of the appetizers, especially the crab Rangoon, pan fried dumplings, Japanese Gyoza dumplings and egg rolls. Last night I tried the Kani salad with crabmeat, cucumber and tobiko and spicy Mayo… wow! Delicious! The House Fried Rice is full of meat and shrimp, and is never greasy or salty. The other Chinese dishes are great too, especially the General Tso’s and Mongolian preparations for chicken, beef, or shrimp. The hibachi grill dinners are excellent and can be ordered In either the hibachi grill room or at a regular table. We have eaten at Okko at least 20 times and have never had anything but excellent food and service. If you like Asian food, try this restaurant. You will love it!

Our five year old LOVED his first hibachi experience and of course us old folks always love it! Our chef was top notch and really made sure we all had a great time, the food he prepared was terrific.

Worst hibachi we’ve ever been! Food was terrible! Server didn’t understand ordered so just gave us whatever he felt. No hot sake!!!! Never saw server once order was taken! I can’t believe we paid almost 300$ for garbage that we left on the table! Don’t waste your time or money!!!!

Hibachi area is very small and very loud. They only have 6 hibachi tables and only 2 chefs. Different experience from any other hibachi I have been too. Sauces and flavors were different also but still good.

Visiting Hilton Head for vacation and we wanted sushi. We ate at Okko and had a fabulous experience. The service, food and atmosphere were fantastic! If you want a great sushi experience I would definitely visit Okko.

Consistently excellent food here, along with a wide ranging drink menu. Sushi was impeccably fresh. The only flaw during this visit was they did not have hot sake available, which is my wife's preferred drink with Japanese cuisine. Also, be aware this is not a quiet, "serene" Japanese restaurant - it's relatively high energy, with a lively crowd (most times) and background music at a slightly elevated level. This is one of the best sushi restaurants in the Hilton Head area, and we'll be back.

DON’T EAT HERE IF YOUR GLUTEN FREE, THEY ARE NOT FRIENDLY TO US! NEVER have we had a sushi restaurant NOT change the Imitation crab in a roll. I simply can’t believe they WOULD NOT DO THIS! My Husband is a celiac…our poor server was almost in tears! She was AMAZING! We will not recommend this place or ever eat there again!
