lemon poppy seed browned butter
chef's choice of cheeses, roasted garlic accoutrements
We were able to relax and enjoy a bottle of wine, apps and dinner without feeling rushed, while we caught up. It was very nice!
We ordered ceasar salad, needed more dressing. Lobster ravioli was amazing, and the pasta with mushrooms was good but a little dry, needed more sauce.
The food was great & Sarah, our server was wonderful with both attentiveness & recommendations. Tables were spread apart & everyone was wearing masks, as well as servers were gloved with sanitizer at each table. They really made the best of dining out during a pandemic.
great dinner food and service. would definitely dine there again
The ambiance wins this restaurant. The menu is extremely limited and the website is not up to date. I was looking forward to papardelle, which was advertised on the site, but they weren’t serving. I ended getting the scallops, which were perfectly cooked, but a bit gritty. The associated zucchini noodles were quite tasty and also perfectly cooked. My SO had the truffle cream sauce over fusilli. The pasta was a little more cooked than I would typically want, but otherwise, I think the taste was spot on. All in all, some hits and some misses.
The ambiance is great and the food is delicious. It’s a perfect inbetween for nice, elegant authentic food and also a more casual, inviting atmosphere. Great for first dates as well.
Took my daughter for a special night out as I was visiting her at college for the weekend. We LOVED the cheeseboard (and she’s only become a cheese lover since moving to Wisco 3 months ago) Will definitely come back and let other family members try. Great cool old yet modern atmosphere. Pasta with spicy red sauce was really good. Ceasar dressing maybe needed a little more pizazz
Food was great, as well as outdoor accommodation and a fantastic atmosphere. Pricey for a family of 5, but was a great treat.
Great food, great wine, great service. One of our Third Ward favorites.
food was fantastic as was the service, but we felt a little rushed as the next course kept coming out before we finished the course we were on. everything was reasonably priced and the server was knowledgeable and very helpful with the menu
Nice evening with homemade pasta, wine, desserts, and environment.
Aly is my favorite waitress to have, she always makes the experience fun and inviting. We were celebrating our engagement with family and friends and it was the perfect spot,
We go to Onesto’s at least 2 to 3 times a month and with our last visit the food quality was not there for any of the four of us. I hope this improves because it has been our favorite spot in downtown Milwaukee and the third Ward for a number of years now
Karla is the best! We love her!
I went with a group of six for lunch. Two meals were very good. the other four varied from non-descript to cold. The Italian sandwich had so little on it it, it was like eating two pieces of dry bread. A pasta dish was served where parts were super hot and others were cold - like it had been warmed in a microwave and not stirred around before serving. Servers disappeared for long times between appearances. My old fashioned was very good, but my wife's Hot Toddy was a joke, it was basically warmed bourbon - no water, no lemon (just a twist) and no cloves served in a huge brandy snifter.
Took my friend out for his birthday. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. Nate did a great job, even paying for my friend’s dessert because it was his birthday!
Very good. Great service and food/drinks
Celebrated a BD here many other great items on menu as well!
I had the salmon and my friends had the warm mushroom salad and both were fantastic.
Had high hopes - was expecting more of a quaint, romantic atmosphere. Very young crowd, louder than I expected. I believe kitchen was overwhelmed- food took forever, was cold and seemed hurriedly prepared. Nothing spectacular. Server never offered dessert at end of meal. Probably won’t go back - although I am sympathetic that some of this may have been related to Covid
Celebrating a birthday. The salad was fine. Nothing exceptional but palatable. The pasta with meatballs was horrible. The meatballs were so hard it was difficult to cut into them. The pasta sauce was very strong with sage. I asked ahead of time if there was a lot of sage in the sauce and was told no that you could not tell it was in there. However, it was overbearing.
Great spot with great food
Our waitress was great! The wine was very good, the bread was tasty, the bruschetta was delicious, the salmon was good. The meatballs were awful they were hard as golf balls (they said they are never like that) and we didn't care for the torchetti. I would go back (not in the very near future) and try other dishes.
Was very excited to try Onesto but was very let down. Server brought us the wrong appetizer, then the wrong salad, and to compensate for his mistakes, gave us a free dessert which we were charged for. Called the manager to inform him and he stated he would be back in touch which he never was. Very disappointing especially considering the price of the meal.
Delicious food and wine — we both ordered pastas and will order them again! The Italian margarita was a good, but a little one-note. Although in normal times I think the ambience could be cozier, we really appreciated the generous spacing between tables and the care staff took to make the experience as safe as possible.
It was amazing and the second level is so cute.
I always have a great dinning experience at Onestos!
Eric and his team always do such a great job. My friends and I have really enjoyed this summer on the Onesto patio.
Best Italian in town!
Our server was attentive while being safe. The food was delicious!
Onesto has done a great job to enforce social distancing while not compromising the dining out experience. It actually felt like a normal night out to dinner despite the times. Fantastic service as well!
Simply amazing experience here. The ambiance is immaculate. We came to celebrate my graduation and they sat us on the upper level. The architecture is original with cream city brick and exposed ductwork- stunning & a true Milwaukee experience. Our waiter was extremely courteous and couldn’t have done his job better. The food was incredible- our favorites being the burrata, cheese plate, and the Fusilli. The latter in particular was impressive- beautiful truffle flavor and pasta cooked to perfection. Will certainly return again & again.
Excellent food and service.... Will be back!
Had a great dinner at Onesto this week. The server was extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine options as well as our allergy issues. The appetizers were very tasty and the both the salmon and fusilli with meatballs was very flavorful. Ambience was fine as we chose to eat on the sidewalk out front, but the inside looked very warm and inviting had we chosen to eat there. Would definitely recommend and make a return visit.
Food was a amazing as always! I messed up my original reservation and they helped move things around to fix the issue
My Fiancé and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The ambiance is romantic and they have a great selection of wine and cocktails. Our favorite dish was the charcuterie and cheese board with fruit and nuts. I highly recommend it!
Nate was an excellent @ knowledgeable bartender, burrata app & our dinners were great.
Great server, great food! Would definitely go to Onesto again.
I love this place but tonight was off. We had a reservation at 7:30 and finally spoke to a server at 8:45. The calamari sauce was to die for but the calamari itself was rubber. The meal was fantastic but the extra bread arrived with dessert. Sarah tbe server was a joy to be around but she was obviously dealing with difficulty. I’ll be back and I’m giving them the benefit of covid as an explanation but it wasn’t up tit he standard of what I’ve gotten there in the past
