We chose Opa as a birthday dinner location. We visited on a Sunday evening around 6:30. We found the atmosphere very inviting, the server was attentive and the food was great.
There ere 6 of us and we ate both off the happy hour menu and the real menu. Everything was delicious. It wasn't noisy and the wine was great. This is my fourth time back to Opa. You can always count on the food to be delicious.
We visited Opa during Happy Hour, a time to sample Greek ouzo and enjoy a sampling of small plates. The service was excellent and the food was delightful.
Excellent value! Great food. Beatrix was an excellent server!
Portions are tiny
They've changed their menu and by the quality of food - I think the chef as well. The Siko drink was good and spinach croquettes but that's about it. The meatball appetizer which we've had before was small and dried out. The oregano fries were soggy, salty, and not fresh. The chicken gyros arrived with undercooked chicken and with only 3 tiny strips in a big pita. We ended up sending the gyros back and left. We didn't trust it after getting undercooked food and lackluster appetizers. Went to Lolita around the corner - it was fantastic. Skip this place!
Food was very good, the Bronzino was very fresh, vegetables were delicious! Drinks were also very good! Will return!
We made a last minute reservation, and because it was Valentine's Day weekend, our usual places did not have any openings. So, we took a chance, and it was amazing! From the cheeseboard and meatballs to start, to gyros, pies and the seafood special, to the mini donuts for dessert, everything was delicious and perfect for sharing. Plus it was a great space, with a full bar crowd, but we could still carry on a conversation easily. We will be back!
That was such a fantastic meal! Opa made Valentine’s Day perfect. We’re already planning our next visit. The food was absolutely amazing, we actually had to stop ourselves to make room for the next course. Our waitress was so sweet and knowledgeable it really made for great night. Thank you!
Went for Valentine’s Day and ordered off of the preset menu. All of the appetizers were great but the main course was pretty awful. I had ordered the surf and turf with a rare steak. When it came to me, the steak was medium well (almost fully well done) and it came with just 2 shrimp. I ate one of the shrimp and it was so salty, I couldn’t eat the other. I ended up eating off of my husbands plate (he had some sort of seafood rice dish which was great). All in all, may go back for drinks and apps but wouldn’t go back for dinner.
Unfortunately we got off to a bad start. Open Table somehow botched our reservation. My Open Table account confirmed that I did indeed have a reservation, but the hostess did not have any record of it. The hostess told us there was nothing she could do. We finally called the manager and the manager corrected the situation and offered us free cocktails to apologize. We had a lovely meal and the service was excellent. We will definitely return.
Food was very fresh and served well. Service was very good and attentive. Great value.
The wait staff were all great. They went above and beyond to take care of us. The food was very good as well as the drinks
Service was mediocre. I feel like at one point our server, although very nice, forgot about us.. I ordered the pork belly gyro and the “pork belly” was so thin it was basically burnt bacon....
Great food, great service
Charming 'new' Greek joint. Hip feeling. Love the Saganaki. Easy to run up a big-ish bill.
Everything was great until we saw our bill. Our server took our order and asked if we wanted side salads or fries with each order — thinking it was included as part of your meal. It’s not. $40 extra later, plus a $11 kale salad that was forgotten about but still charged for. Food was great, but poor customer service.
I got sick after.
We celebrate restaurant week every season and we attempt to dine at a new restaurant each time. We decided to try Opa because we’ve been to the various steakhouses and Brazilian restaurants many times. Opa was an opportunity for us to try different foods while still playing it safe. Although the place was crowded and busy, we were seated after about 8-10mins. Our server, Brenda, was very nice and accommodating. She took our picture and gave us a voucher for parking. All of our food courses were delivered to the table in a timely manner and the server promptly cleared the table for the next course. The roasted chicken was delicious and a decent sized portion. The lamb and orzo, mushroom entree, and dorado entrees were fairly small. The ambiance was nice, noise level was moderate for such a busy night, and the restaurant was clean; including the bathroom. Overall, our dining experience was satisfactory and we are likely to return.
Great time with the exception of an incredibly loud group of 4 nearby. Obviously not Opa’s doing, but it took away from a great meal. “B” was a great server.
We really enjoyed our dinner here. The noise level was a bit too much for us, but we will definitely come back.
Great service, interesting choices. Our server was super accommodating and the choices we made with his help were perfect for our picky group
The food was excellent and the service perfect. Our server was a delight and efficient. He had good recommendations.
Great! Surprised it was not at all busy. Comfortable seating, nice wall candles, food was great and a good selection.
New Year’s Eve dinner
Went here for a New Years dinner. Very good service considering the large crowd. Great food, got the Gyros, and highly recommend them.
Terrible. Food and service
The restaurant was cozy and packed during happy hour. The food and service was excellent though a limited selection for vegetarians I thought. The server was very considerate
We have been at Opa before but this meal was the best. Started with a smooth Greek white wine which nicely complemented our dishes. We started with the fava hummus, tzadiki and pita. Our wives had to move fast because the guys were demolishing the food. The octopus was cooked to perfection. We had a nice crunchy grilled okra as a side. We then had chicken and shrimp gyros. Service was good. A lively place.
. So good. We went to the theater afterwards. It was hard not to take a contented nap after such a great meal.
Great food, friendly staff, but service slow and they forgot 2 of our appetizers....but gave us free dessert and coffee due to their mistake. Food good enough and wait staff friendly and apologetic enough that I would go back. Chicken was OUTSTANDING!
Really enjoy the food and entire experience here! Great place to bring friends!
I liked the atmosphere, it did have a Bar that took up a lot of room, and the noise level was low.
I had the 3 different types of pita, spinach/feta, butter nut squash and cheese. A nice grouping of tastes. I did share some with my dining companion, as it was quite filling. It could have been shared between two people. We sat near the window and watched people go by.
Too few servers. Food was meh. Have eaten all of the dishes ordered before in other restaurants in the US and in Greece. The food was really unimpressive. MAYbe the pita was house made. The chicken skewers definitely were served with a 'sauce' that was comprised of just mustard and ketchup mixed together. Kalamari we were well prepared, but the aioli with kalamari, while a good texture, did not have any discernable garlic. Shrimp skewer was good. Greek salad was ok. Melitzanosalata was better than the other food, but that was it. Olives were fine. Servers were perfectly nice, just too hard to get attention of one.
Went there to meetup with my son and his girlfriend. I love greek food however Opa was a disappointment. I had garden salad and lamb Gyro. Both were poor. One of the worst gyro I have eaten! However the service was good.
Great food and ambiance.
Our server was great. And we had a terrific time with friends, fully enjoying our meal.
There were two small food issues that prompted me to grade it 4/5.
1-We ordered 2 orders of potatoes and only one was hot. The other significantly colder-inedible. They replaced it when we mentioned it.
2-I ordered a Greek coffee. It was served as a handleless cup inside a little metal holder. The coffee was bubbling up from between that outer holder and the cup, meaning if I had attempted to drink it, that coffee was going to drip on me. Again, I mentioned it and they promptly replaced the whole thing with another.
Whoever is managing the food could have done a bit better.
We like Opa a lot, and would not hesitate to go again soon.
Our server was great. The food was amazing. Pricy for the quantities of the Tapas. Would go again though as it is a wonderful space.
We were there on the early side, so it was pretty empty and quiet. Not sure how it might be a little later. We were disappointed in the lamb gyros; we much prefer a lamb/beef combination. As one of my dining companions said, it's good there was a lot in the sandwich besides the meat. The village salad, which the server said was good for 2 people, was incredibly tiny and would have been better for just 1. One person in our party ordered a chicken gyro. Fortunately, we asked in advance what the "Greek sauce" was that went on it, since other gyros said "tzatziki" and this one said "Greek sauce." It was a combo of very American condiments--I think ketchup, mustard, mayo...or something like that. Again, fortunately we asked and my friend ordered it with tzatziki instead. It is a very pretty, contemporary restaurant, great wall art, but the only thing in the restaurant that looked Greek was the bathroom, with the broken blue and white plates inserted into the wall. Even the music in the restaurant was contemporary pop/rock, not Greek. We love Greek food, and we were excited to find this place close to the theaters, but I doubt we will return.
Food was varied and excellent. Waitress was excellent. It was a little noisy.
Amazing food, service and Ambience. Definitely try the Gyros. Although you cannot go wrong with anything you order here.
