We had a wonderful Saturday night there with wonderful music, fantastic staff and delicious food! Felt very safe there. I felt like they took COVID seriously and kept us all safe and comfortable. Kudos to the team!
So nice to have a
There is a limited menu during all this COVID stuff. The calamari was very good and bacon wrapped dates were good. Martinis were very good. Tables are spread out so great social distancing.
Enjoyed lunch on the patio at Opah at the beginning of the COVID19 opening. Staff were respectful and very attentive. The food is always delicious. Pleasant experience.
Service and quality of the food is always top notch! We will never get tired of coming here.
Glad to see Opah's back open again, great food as usual
Great food and cocktails. Service could be much faster. We used to sit at the bar which was the best seat of the house. We live the bartenders.
Great food, great service, live music
We were very disappointed that the Main Fish items including OPAH were not available. No Mahi Mahi, No opah> Halibut was not on the menu but was offered. We went for a special night out and left without ordering
You went there to celebrate my birthday tonight. The service was wonderful the food tasted great and I got a great birthday dessert for free!
We have eaten here many times and the food and service never disappoints us. The mussels are the stand their chocolate croissant bread pudding is awesome. We order this dessert every time we come here
We always love bringing our friends to your restaurant, Connor Gaal is an excellent server and we enjoyed his enthusiasm and energy. Very polite and well mannered. Thank you! We will back!
Amazing service, always accmodating with our Apple Martini request. Very personable, this will be our Friday night destination going forwqrd for sure.
Food was great!
We are "regulars " at both the restaurant and the Bar for the last 20 years. recently we went to have dinner on a Sunday night. The restaurant was highly understaffed as we waiting after being seated for 15 minutes before anyone came to greet us, then 45 minutes for our food to come out (party of 2).
DON"T GO ON A SUNDAY NIGHT. We love Opah but this was bad.
Had a lovely happy hour on the patio! The mussels were amazing! Love the red Thai broth!
Loved the food , service , and setting ! Plan on going back soon !
We used to have an Opah near us (closed several years ago), so it was nice to have a chance to go again.
The food was very good, as we remembered, but the overall experience was only "ok".
We had a 7pm reservation (inside table requested) at 7:20 we were told there was a patio table or there would be a longer wait to sit inside. We sat outside then waited another 10 minutes before anyone came to our table. Ordered drinks, soups and entrees at this time.
Soups arrived, and mostly finished, before drinks arrived. Entrees arrived soon after.
Server did apologize for delays, and he did seem to be covering a large area, so maybe understaffed(?)
Overall a nice meal, and will possibly go back (on a less crowded evening)
Nice Place. Food, service, atmosphere and audience inside everything was fine. I am not a regular visitor to this place, but the experience was very pleasurable and I will come back.
Like most restaurants they had a special Valentine’s Day menu which meant limited selections and higher prices. Next year we will celebrate valentines on the !5th. Disappointed in the desert menu. We were expecting some valentines special
Meh! Why, why, why... why did they not allow us to sit at the “reserved” high tops at the bar... another couple was sitting at a four too high too? Why did the guy not ask us to our table but just started walking away and waved at us at the other end of the restaurant? Why was the “special” halibut dry, overcooked?
The waiter did a great job!
It’s too expensive for this place, the value is not there... good luck!
The food is always excellent, however the prices on the Cioppino have gone up way too high (was $32 and is NOW $42!)
Yes it is delicious but big increase in a relatively short time frame (2 yrs)...and many other dishes have also gone up.
The service usually great, was also disappointing as our server had too many tables and we waited way to long for everything.
Hope this improves, as we do like the place!
Food was really good
I thought the food was over-rated. Calamari—uninspiring. Fish special, overcooked and underwhelmed risotto. No “wow” factor to restaurant. No really ‘unique’ item on the menu that would make one come back. Overall, creativity was lacking.
How fast can they get you in and out? Ordered appetizers, soup, entree and drinks. They brought the appetizer and soup together then brought the entree before I had even started the soup. Felt like it was a race to get you in and out as fast as possible. Food has always been good but they need to slow down. They need to educate their servers. on why meals are served in courses. Not interested in having dinner in less than an hour on a Saturday night. Disappointing dinner at what had always been a good restaurant.
There were 4 of us for dinner before going to the Soko Performing Arts Center. We arrived early but they sat us right away. We all started with a cocktail and then went straight to dinner. I had the shrimp and grits and it was cooked nicely with grits being very creamy. My partner had the NY steak and he gave it a 2 thumbs up. Our friends had the special which was a Sea Bass cooked with a mushroom quinoa. We would come back! Good food!
We chose the venue as it was close to Soka for a concert we were to attend that evening. The service was prompt and very attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meals, I especially would recommend the Lamb chop salad. it was spectacular. Thank you for your service, we all enjoyed the outing and the food was great!
We went for a birthday. No recognition of the birthday. Food was good. Prices expensive. Very little room inside the restaurant. Tables very close to each other.
I have had lunch here quite a bit, but this was the first time I had dinner here in a while. I forgot how good this place is for dinner. Food & service was excellent. The steak carpaccio blew us away. We had scallops & Opah which was also superb. Need to get back here again soon for dinner.
Calamari was good. Brussels app were outstanding Sea bass was $$ & tasteless. Mushroom quinoa under was imaginary. Friends liked pork chops & onion soup. Cipolla was good flavor.
Waitstaff was attentive.
Delicious food and drinks, their specials are always on point and it's over of our favorite restaurants in the city.
Service was fast and sweet. Food looked good, ample size, not so tasty... had to ask for lemon, salt and pepper to fix the blandness. I had the mahi-mahi. Expensive food and wines. Expect triple digits without appetizers and desserts. Background music was intrusive to normal conversation.
I’ve dined at OPAH several times, mostly during the week when not quite as busy. I’ve always found the food outstanding. This was the first time in years that we visited on a weekend. Now this place is lively and loud which must be expected on a weekend with a full house. We were seated promptly for our reservation and given bread and water shortly thereafter. Our server followed opening wine and explaining the specials. I split a Caesar salad with my guest that arrived in small bowls which I thought was a strange presentation. It was also quite skimpy. I ordered the Sole stuffed with crab over risotto and topped with grilled vegetables. My first bite of the sole produced a small bone which I swallowed. After, I found myself looking at every bite so as not to repeat that experience. The fish itself was rather bland with little flavor. The risotto and vergetables were very good. For dessert, we ordered the warm butter cake with strawberries which was perfect. Overall, it was a decent meal but I think I’ll stick to dining here on a weekday.
Oprah is a local favorite and always consistent. Preference is to eat in the patio area.
Great seafood as usual. Excellent service and ambiance, definitely a go to option for seafood in Orange County.
Wonderful birthday dinner!!
Food and service good, but try not to sit on that long bench. The tables in that part of the restaurant are jammed close together and you have no privacy for your table. Either get a free standing table or sit outside.
after spending well over $300 at Opahs I was disappointed with the white sea bass that my daughter ordered. we live in Aliso and go to Opahs all the time. I was disappointed that the server did not take anything off especially when I told him the sea bass was not prepared correctly and he could see we ate hardly anything. BYW the sever did a great job but at close to $50 that wasn't right.
I try to avoid using superlatives when writing reviews, but the double cut pork chop I had New Year's Eve was the best I can ever remember tasting. Everything was delicious and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. As one might expect, it was very busy on the 31st and yet the service was friendly and efficient. I look forward to our next dining adventure at Opah.
Best oysters I’ve ever had
