The atmosphere was very nice. we sat outside in the evening. The service was wonderful and the food was very good.

The place was great!!! Food was perfectly cooked and the price was right!!! We ordered the calamari for starters and I ordered a shrimp/clam penne pasta and the food was cooked to perfection- both the calamari and shrimp were not overcooked that they were gummy. Service was great!!! Enjoyed every minute of it and have been spreading the word.

I marked down ambiance because they are seating outside only. The inside in charming and we can’t wait until we can get back inside. Otherwise as always 5 stars!!!

Delicious food, the outdoor patio was not to shabby, salads didn’t come with the meal and our server only brought bread once.

We had an amazing experience. Our server, JC, was great and the carbonara and bruschetta were some of the best I’ve ever had! This will definitely be my new go-to Italian spot.

Operacaffe was very good and a very affordable. The service was great. It's located on a quieter block than the main street in Gas Lamp which was overly crowded. However, due to Covid, we sat outside in the area they set up in the street. It was set up very nicely but cars were speeding by the whole time and it was a little unnerving.

To be honest, if I had just walked by on the street, I would have chosen the restaurant next door. To me this place just didn't look very inviting. But I did choose it on Yelp through reviews and I am so glad it happened that way. Service was super super friendly and the food was oh so good! I had the gnocci with gorgonzola and blueberries - not a combination I thought was appealing, but after the waitress told me it was her favorite, I tried it and she was right!

My girlfriend and I visited OperaCafe in September. With COVID going on we were offered outdoor seating which was nice in San Diego in September. The food was outstanding. The portions were large and we enjoyed it so much that both of us ate a lot more than we normally would have.

Recommend the Truffle Ravioli and and Chicken Parm. Ordered a side of meatballs as an appetizer and they were good as well. Banfi Rosso Di Montalcino was great.

The only negative was sitting outside next to a busy street. The bread, oil, appetizers, salads, cocktails, wine, entrees, cappuccino, and dessert are all great. Our server was very busy but he did a good job too! I'll go back when we can sit inside away from car exhaust.

Service was excellent, with cheerful and attentive wait staff. All food dishes were good, except the pesto which was "disappointing" according to one of our group. But, we will still come back. Ambiance is enjoyable.

Pre show dinner with friends - perfect location to balboa theatre. Right across the street. Everyone enjoyed their meals from chicken parmigiana to raviolis with truffle oil. Pear salad has a great presentation and flavors. We will return for sure.

The food was really good and the service was good but got slow as they had a big crowd for the show at the Balboa Theater and seemed to be short staffed. The busser was awesome! Despite that... our server was good and did her best with being so busy but we rarely saw her towards the end and that lost them a star. I would recommend.
