Great ambience.. Delicious food. Great service. Winning combination. Look forward to going back
Love new Chef!!
The ambiance of this restaurant is the best. They have some innovative food, and the luncheon prices are quite reasonable.
First time there. Creative menu with good variety. Loved the fried chicken. Walked around the square before dinner on a perfect evening. Will be back
Our daughter and son in law came in from Omaha for the weekend, and this was the first time we had taken them out to eat since the Covid problem. We were happy that Ophelia's was now open for dining in on a Saturday evening. We had delicious food, and a Terrific Server in Elaine C. The Salmon and Truman chicken were both exceptional . It was a pleasant atmosphere and our son in law was especially interested in the pictures on the walls, and history of the location. It was a most pleasant evening as everything about Ophelia's for fine dining was perfect.
What really sets the tone for any restaurant is the feel you get when you walk in the front doors. The first thing I noticed as we approached the hostess area was the table in front of the window that had not been cleared and was full of dishes. We had a reservation and I asked to be seated by the window. She looked that way and saw the mess on that table and seated us on the other side of the restaurant next to the side windows. We were greeted promptly by our server and both ordered the hamburger with blue cheese on the pretzel bread. I had the side salad and my husband ordered the French onion soup. It was all very good and service was great! Maybe they were short handed on a Friday night or just slow to clean up.
It was great
Had an excellent 2nd anniversary dinner.. great food and awesome service. We will be back to spend our gift card next!!
First time going. We absolutely fell in love! This is definitely an Independence must do.
We started our dinner with a glass of wine then surprisingly fabulous salads. Mine a brussel sprout cesar OMG! My friend had the house salad (the Cadillac of house salads) it was beautiful she said it was delicious, the lemon garlic vinagrette dressingwas over the top. I had a perfectly cooked filet with green beans and delicious 5 cheese pasta. My friend said her grilled salmon with creamy risotto and crispy brussel sprouts were delicious.
Even though the menu was limited due to Covid, the food was excellent and the service fantastic!
It took a long time for someone to seat us. The service was very slow. No complaints about the food.
We had a wonderful dinner! Our server was attentive and sweet! I had the bison meatloaf and my husband had the Boursin filet. Both delicious! Only con was that the menu is very limited right now which is understandable.
Was super excited to try Ophelia’s, as I had heard lots of good things about it. Our server was amazing and the grapefruit martini was tasty (and strong!). For appetizers we got the shrimp tempura and chicken/chorizo cheese dip - shrimp was amazing, dip was okay... didn’t taste the chorizo so it was really just like a cheese dip. My friend ordered the chicken orecchiette and, sadly, it was super bland. I got the Norwegian salmon with sweet potato risotto and brussel sprouts and it was amazing!! Overall we both agreed we’d go back - maybe for lunch next time so my friend can try what she really wanted, which was the adult grilled cheese sandwich.
Great Easter brunch! Awesome service and experience. Thanks soo much!
So happy to see things opening up and the restaurant thriving
I was so excited that Ophelia's opened back up during the week for lunch. Highlight of my birthday month. The Salmon, risotta, and brussel's sprouts were as excellent as ever and the service is so attentive and kind. I missed out on dessert this visit, but I want everyone to know that in my opinion, Ophelia's is the BEST restaurant in all of Greater KC Area.
Very good meal, service and atmosphere.
My husband and I were having a date night. I ordered the whiskey filet steak flambé and he ordered a special of the night- steak rigatoni. My favorite part of the meal was the side of macaroni and cheese. It was so delicious! The meal was good overall. I felt my steak lacked seasoning though. I like buttery/salty steaks and this did not have either. Service was great and it was a quiet atmosphere.
Service was outstanding, food was even better. Highly recommend, will for sure eat there again.
Great restaurant wonderful food. Wish they would open up for more days.
Ophelia’s follows Covid guidelines. We felt very safe. Service was great, food great, ambiance great. We will be back.
Everything was outstanding, the food was awesome. The only thing I noticed was the bathroom floor. It looked like it needed a good scrubbing and then waxed. Everything else perfect.
First time we have been there!!! Was very impressed and food was wonderful!! Will definitely eat there again
Food and service were perfect! Had soup and the small plate shrimp and grits. We will be going back soon!
Food was great!!!
Our second date to Ophelia’s and equally as satisfied this time as the first. Great food, excellent service. We will be back for a 3rd visit.
Food was amazing. We recommend the french onion soup and apple cobbler. They do a great job with social distancing, we felt very safe and tables are really spaced far apart. We went at 5:00, and were alone in our part of the restaurant by the windows. They require reservations.
Food and service was wonderful as usual. Ophelia's has always been a favorite!
Fried chicken had no spice or salt, very bland. Mashed potatoes were plain.
It was not my first time going to Ophelia's.I knew how good the food would be and how nice the surrounding s are.My wait staff was very nice and helpful and gave some great recommendations! I will be back!
Perfect spot for date night! Romantic and small, the food was very good.
Service was good - menu / selection needed a lot of improvement- portions ok - quality ok
As always we had a great experience at Ophelia’s. The food was incredible as was the service. This has become one of our new favorite date night spots.
Awesome meal of Whisky Steak Flambé and Crab/Lobster Mac and cheese! Great cocktails! Manhattans and Old Fashioned!
My boyfriend and I came here for a date night on Saturday, we ordered from a pre fixe menu which we usually don’t do but we ended up loving everything ! We tried things we wouldn’t usually think to order and it was all prepared so well and great portion sizes. All three courses were timed perfectly as we don’t like to wait a long time between, our server was pleasant and attentive. We will for sure be dining there again.
We love that your open again!
The food was great
They called me after a reservation was made for 6:15pm . Told me set menu for inside but not on patio. I asked if there were flys on patio. Man said he had not been out on patio so he did not know. We elected to eat on patio to get wider menu option. My spouse asked what was the darkest beer they had. Female waitress said Tank 9. He ordered it. I wanted red wine asked which had cherry taste. She told me the Cabernet. I said I would take that. We ordered Brussels sprouts and then a Chateaubriand, ordered medium rare with Gorgonzola filling which came with broccoli and smashed potatoes. We were served the beer which was a light yellow color and the wine, which had no cherry flavor. We were served the Brussels sprouts which were cooked well but a little sweet. The beef was cooked medium , nothing rare about it. Plate not heated so everything became cold quickly. Potatoes were more than mashed more of a purée and had green beans in them. Maybe they had the Gorgonzola, sure didn’t find any in the meat.
No broccoli on plate. There were about 8 flies greedily eyeing our food. I was constantly waving my arms to fend them off. I complained to the waitress that the beer was not dark and we had green beans instead of broccoli. I told here she needed to inform customers of changes in food. She said the beer was the thickest like a dark, but she had not stated this previously. Beer was actually fine in taste. We ordered a lemon raspberry tiramisu for dessert, which should be premade and readily served. We waited about 15 minutes with waitress passing us twice. Spouse went in to check on dessert. They said they were making it. He said from scratch? They said yes. They stated they had more people order than they expected. They ended up not charging us for meal, but the waitress totally dropped the ball not communicating with us. They need to be more honest with customers.
My niece recommended the restaurant. So good. The young lady server made sure we had all we needed. I had the beef tenderloin taster. OMG. So very good. Mashed potatoes on the bottom, green beans and then the tenderloin. Pricey but worth every penny.
