Osha Thai Embarcadero

Overall, food is better in most restaurants due to limited seating. Osha is no different. Everything was served fresh and hot. Food quality is as I remember from over a year ago. Delicious!

Very nice outdoor dining area with a pleasant view of the ferry building. Inside the of the restaurant is decorated beautifully. All of the food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Definitely one of my all time favorite restaurants.

Following the recommendation from a local hotel clerk, I was pleased to plan a dinner experience for two friends who had just arrived from Seoul. We were not disappointed. I requested outdoor seating that worked out well since there were propane umbrella heaters to ward off the evening chill. We had a beautiful view toward the Ferry Building and the SF-Oakland Bay Bridge.
The staff was courteous and prompt in helping us with selections. Chopsticks were brought promptly on request (it's curious that this was not part of the table setting). We all enjoyed the tasty Spring Rolls with Prawns. I enjoyed the Drunken Noodles while one of my guests enjoyed the Sea Bass Clay Pot. He commented that it was a bit salty for his taste, but he really enjoyed the fish. We ended our meal with Mango Sticky Rice with Coconut Ice Cream.
The ONLY disappointment I had was that their coffee machine was "broken." They didn't have a Plan B, so I had to scout out a local Safeway to satisfy my after-dinner fix. Nearby coffee shops aren't open at 9:30 on a Sunday evening and I had a 1.5 hour drive to get back home.
I'll be happy to come back again, but I'll make sure that their coffee machine has been fixed before I book the reservation.

Glad they were open during the pandemic. Sweet little patio that had heat lamps and was protected from the wind, but not much ambiance. Food was just so-so. Service & drinks were fabulous!

Great little outdoor area with good service. This was the first Pad Thai I've had that I didn't like, though my friend did enjoy it.

Well, I woldn't choose this restaurant if I were paying, because Thai food need not be expensive. But for a nice business lunch if you are near the Embarcadero Center, this is a great choice. Authentic Thai cuisine in very nice surroundings. Wait satff was very professional too.

My wife, sister, and I were looking for a restaurant in the area and I found this nearby.
For a Tuesday night it was quite lively.
Food - excellent tasting for a Thai restaurant. Service - impeccable. Didn't even need to ask for anything, the wait staff was always there with more water, requests for new food, drinks.

Osha Thai is an upscale restaurant, with steep prices on their food and drinks. I gave this restaurant an overall "Good" rating because of the term "Employer Mandates" on the bill. Really? You charge what you do and want to make that statement to your customers? The charge is miniscule and I understand its a fee to businesses for their workers to ensure they have health insurance in SF.
Don't insult me by putting this cost as a line item though. It's necessary that your workers are covered and that cost should be part of the prices I am already paying. Calling it out will make me think twice before going to this establishment again.

Nothing interesting or inspiring here.

Service was good but average.

Appetizers (marinated olives, bean minestra soup) were basic.

Entrees (farrotta mushroom risotto, chitarra hand cut pasta) were just way too salty.

Many better choices for the same money or less.

I have to say without a doubt, Osha Thai is one of the best restaurants. Located at the Embarcadero, you can literally see the Welcome to SanFrancisco Clock Tower

The night we went, the table we were given was right in front of the door so we were crowded by people waiting for tables and then frozen by the wind when the door was left open over and over again. Despite this, the food and service were absolutely excellent. Suggest asking for table away from the door!!

While visiting SF last week, my wife and I had dinner at Osha Tai at the Embarcadero. We have eaten lunch there two or three times during previous trips, but this was our first dinner experience and it proved to be the best dinner we had during our stay. A couple of provisos if you go on a Friday night...be prepared for some serious volume level; I could barely hear my wife for the first half hour (till I got used to the ambient noise). The frenetic atmosphere affected the staff--our waiter appeared quite stressed by all the activity--in fact, an altercation erupted across the dining room, but the staff handled it very professionally. As for the food, well, it was very good. My wife liked her rice and chicken dish and I very much enjoyed the beef and noodles. Our server gave me some good advice about how much heat to add. I'm sure we will eat there again on future trips, but may avoid the TGIF crowd.

Seems like all the Osha Thais are going downhill. Last time I went to this was it was amazing. This time all of the dishes were way too sweet, even though there was nothing to suggest their sweentess in the menu.

The food is very good but the noise is intolerable. I will never go there again.

One of my go to places when traveling to San Fran. I Would recommend reservations as they are busy for lunch and dinner. I had the pad Thai which was great. My colleague suggested the pumpkin curry.

The noise level overwhelmed us. Talking was very difficult. Gluten-free options were few.

This has now been added to the favorites list when traveling to San Francisco.

Although we had a reservation, our table was not ready and we definitely had to wait longer than 5 minutes to sit down. Our server forgot our drinks until long after we had our food. When we tried to get her attention, she would not even walk over to the table. She just yelled and waived us off. She apologized later when the drinks finally came. I was not offered a 2nd glass of wine.

Very good service and cuisine. Good ambiance. Very attentive. Lovely location and seating all around.

Appetizers were ok. Most of the Food was salty. Our server, Peper, was not accommodating with our requests.
He had a nice smile, that was about it. Since the food was cooked in a closed kitchen, I didn't want to be picky and have something done to our food. Too expensive for the kind of food we could find at the mall.

We enjoyed the ambiance. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The prawn appetizer and the eggplant were excellent. The fish that we ordered was a little bland - but still good. It all went well with a nice bottle of wine. The service was excellent.

We have been to other Osha Thai's and those were really great, so we were very disappointed when the Embarcadero site turned out to be so bad. They were very disorganized and took forever just to even greet us. The service was terrible and impersonal, and they messed up several of our orders. Also, I didn't like how they brought the dishes out one at a time instead of together so we could begin eating at the same time.

The Curry was delicious as was the Pad Thai. Don't miss the Sticky Rice + Mango for dessert!
Come in a little later in the afternoon when it is quieter and less full. Service was excellent.

I dined at Osha Thai at Embarcadero many times, my favorite place to eat. I took my family (visiting from India) to OSHA for Dinner.

I ordered some stuff, which include Pineapple Fried Rice. My family is pure vegetarian, so i specifically mentioned NO EGG NO MEAT for the whole order. But Pineapple Fried Rice came with Egg Chunks in it. It was eating other stuff so i didn't notice that. In the end, I asked them to pack the remaining food (Pineapple Fried Rice), I will take that home. At home when i opened the BOX i noticed there was EGG pieces in it. I felt really bad because I took my vegetarian family to this place.

My last visit with my family changed my reviews about the place.

The food was really good. It wasnt my first time at the restaurant. Our waiter was nice, he was very busy though, but the hostess was rude, never smile and not nice at all, which is clearly the opposite as a hostess position it should be.

This was my second time eating here. It wasn't as good as the first time, i.e. service wasn't as attentive and food could have been a little hotter, but still great flavors in the meals. I'll be back when I'm in San Fran again

I have eaten at Osha thai many times before, for lunch and dinner. I went with a friend for his birthday dinner on Wednesday and the food was almost inedible. Everything was aggressively salty, and I am a fan of salty food. It was impossible to discern any flavors, only salt. The service was fair, but their was no offer to remake the dishes or remove the worst offenders from the check. No one seemed interested when we told them that the dishes were too salty to eat. Don't know if the kitchen has changes or it was an off night, but I would not go again.

I am blown away every time I visit Osha. The food is amazing, the ambiance is incredible, the location is unbeatable. I wish I could tell you what my favorite dish is, but I try something new each time, and each time I find a new favorite. Place can get packed quickly, but there is an awesome bar to help you forget about any wait. Highly, highly recommended if you want a memorable dinner.

The hostess at this restaurant was terrible. After waiting in line to be seated she completely ignored me and then asked the people behind me if they had a reservation then sat then. When she finally acknolodges me I told her we had a reservation. She told me she could find it. I told her don't you need to ask my name first? I then proceeded to show her my name on her iPad. She said wait a minute, walked away and then came back and asked me if I had a reservation. She did the same thing once more. Finally she said we have your table ready. We stood to the side and waited. While we were waiting the other hostess came by greeted the people behind us and asked them if the would like a table, did not ask if they had a reservation and say them at the table we were told was for us. We then asked the hostess what happened and she told us they had a reservation so that is why they were seated (I started to wonder if we were on a hidden camera show). We finally started making our disappointment know and finally were seated. The service after that and food were pretty good, but the two hostesses made the experience terrible.
