A return visit and Otto’s is as good as ever, it never fails to please. Foie Gras, steak tartare, pigeon, tart tatin all cooked to perfection.
Well done in these difficult times.
Outstanding! There is not much to add to this. Beautiful setting, helpful, friendly and attentive staff and amazing food on the menu. Definitely worth a visit. We are going to come back again!
Lovely quirky and personal restaurant. This was our second trip and the food and service were excellent.
Charming, friendly, impeccable service - sofisticated without being stuffy- very hard to pull that off. The food is sublime. My husband’s favourite restaurant
Amazing! Stunning food-perfect wines to accompany - and above all outstanding service from Otto, Elin and their team. The best restaurant in London
An enjoyable evening ; not significant, but nevertheless worthwhile.
A truly wonderful time. Otto and his team were a delight. The food was incredible, service flawless, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. We gave the duck press a go and all I can say is “wow”
Otto is the consummate host and the canard a la presse a classic dish - beautifully prepared and served.
Food was excellent generally but we were let down by the beef tartar, which was so strongly mustard flavoured that it was nearly inedible. We may go back to see if this was just an off day though, but this was disappointing at the price range.
Wonderfully charming atmosphere and delicious food.
Outstanding food. Fixed menu weekend menu in these COVID times. Excellent service. Wine selection geared towards high budgets
A brilliant and quirky culinary experience. Food was amazing and it was so much fun
Otto and the team where amazing! Perfection! Highly recommend the pressed duck.
Great old-school French with impeccable ingredients and service.
Otto's was great for me, my partner however wasn't overly impressed. I enjoyed the Jerusalem artichoke soup and seafood risotto with a lovely glass of wine.
My opinion is it's definitely worth a visit.
French classics very well prepared with a touch of theatre.
service a bit erratic .food as expected .would consider downstairs for for a party
Lovely, tasty, delicately-presented food, which is actually surprisingly filling! Wine is on the expensive side.
Outstanding on all fronts, wouldn’t hesitate to book again
The service was outstanding. The wait staff was very considerate and engaging. The food was unbelievable. I never write reviews, but I had to make an exception for this restaurant. I cannot recommend enough how great the food was and wonderful the service was. It's been 4 days since my wife and I were there and we are still taking about how good the restaurant was. I cannot recommend enough, and I have eaten in a number of very well know restaurants, andI have eaten food from some very highly acclaimed chefs. I would most definitely place Otto's near the top. Great job guys!
Fabulous, unique restaurant. Great food and wine, we will definitely visit again.
Thank you
Gordon and Janet Cox
Wonderful experience! The food and service were absolutely perfect. A rare example of a restaurant that entirely fulfils its promise. Such a pleasure to spend an evening at Otto’s.
This is, hands down, our favorite dining in London. Pre-order the fancy Bresse chicken with truffles if you can - it is prepared wonderfully at Otto's. The production of the meal is a full team affair - everyone working in the restaurant has a part in creating the meal, with finishes taking place tableside throughout the night. It is not overly theatrical, but the meticulous effort, technique, and dedication of Otto and his entire team are a delight to observe. Presentation and taste of the food itself are divine. The ambiance is comfortable but chic, excellent for both a romantic night out, or a more casual but nice dinner with family or friends. It is a small restaurant and you will be treated well! Our apologies to the employees, as we stayed long into the night, enjoying fantastic dessert wines and befriending the guests around us. Thank you for another memorable time on holiday - we absolutely can't wait to return.
Relaxed, friendly brilliance. Knocks the socks off everything else. It wears its sophistication with eased charm, transporting you to France - via the Gray’s Inn Road.
The only thing holding me back from singing the praises of Otto's is wanting to maintain its status of a hidden gem for those that care about real, classical food.
Excellent food (the pressed duck is superlative) and solicitous but unobtrusive service. Otto's is a place to be treasured.
The canard a la presse is now something I have had both times I have been here. Amazing experience. The calves brain starter was wonderful but I am now very full. I can’t recommend enough!
Execution of cooking excellent as you’d expect. Otto is very engaging his staff less so. For a Friday evening the restaurant was fairly quiet. Personally I think the price point for the food rather too high for regular dining, maybe ok for special occasions. The wines are very, very expensive. I feel this is might be proving a barrier to encourage regular dining and suggest they introduce lower register wines without compromising on quality. Also perhaps they should introduce a changing evening set menu.
Absolutely superb food and service.
I love this restaurant. It has never disappointed me. Yes it’s quirky but that is definitely part of the appeal. I’ll be going back.
This is a truly amazing place for Authentic French cuisine
Otto's is probably my favourite restaurant in London...Otto is a fab host, the food is incredible and the service second to none!
I would go there for my death row meal!
The famous delicious cheese soufflé is no longer
It’s now a double baked mush
Very disappointing
No atmosphere
Disappointing
Great food, excellent service, creative menu, fine wines, wonderful atmosphere, what more could one want. I’ll be back....soon!
Always a special delight dining at Otto's.
Service is efficient and friendly, the sommelier recommended a delicious wine that didn't cost the earth.
The food is absolutely divine - all courses were a triumph!
Really delicious traditional food. Gracious and old-fashioned atmosphere but still relaxed and friendly service. The steak tartare was very delicious
Otto is just the most wonderful host and the food is simply sublime
This was my third visit. My first was one of the best meals ever. My wife and I took the 18.00 slot for the canard presse. Sensational food, attentive service from Otto. Just fabulous. Great experience.
Second visit was with my accountant. OK perhaps not the most enticing dinner companion you might think. You would be wrong. He was a lot more interesting than the food was. Tempting menus but bland execution.
But I heard great reports from others. So lunch with my longest standing client and notable bon viveur. .
Again the menu seduced us. Boudin noir. Four crispy bonbons looking like inserts for a coffee machine were presented. Not an improvement on the more usual steamed or boiled sausage. The contrast between unctuous inside and crispy exterior added nothing. In fact detracted.
The gloire du poulet de Bresse underwhelmed. Despite the enticing description it was a routine ballotine of chicken. Bland beige and boring. The calves’ sweetbreads did not complement or set off the deboned chicken leg. The venison Wellington was light on golden pastry and wrapping. The venison was workmanlike. So was the chocolate torte with cherry sauce which tasted of sugar and not cherry.
Service was impeccable.
Moral go for the canard presse. Leave the rest.
Great sense of occasion. Certainly not a meal to be rushed.
Great food and service as always. Stuffy ambiance but cute.
