Loved the spectacular view of Seattle. The stuffed salmon over the saffron rice and Brussels sprouts was heavenly flavored. My night was perfect.
We love Palisade, but with Covid protocol the menu is far reduced - no pupu tower or my go-to prime rib. Wife got the better meal of filet mignon and scallops. I chose the ribeye thinking it would be a good alternative to the prime rib, but was disappointed in my particular cut - cooked perfectly med-rare and flavor was good, but overly fatty and more gristle that a prime steak should have IMHO. The demi-glace / wine reduction sauce was great.
The wine, the service, appetizers, etc were great. Wife would give it 4+ stars, I would give it 3 for this time around. Usually Palisade is a 5 for us.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Palisade. The steak was perfect and delicious. The lobster and salmon were very well-prepared. The presentation of the plates were well-done. We were celebrating our anniversary and got our dessert for free. Nice cherry on top.
The view is always amazing. The Lobster was small for $75, we were anticipating the same fabulous value from our last visit earlier in the year. The chicken was charred and to the point is was shriveled up. The stuffed salmon was the only dinner of the 3 that was exceptional as it should be. All in all it was a disappointing evening from the food aspect. I don't mind spending +$300 for 3 people when the food is fantastic, this was not the case for my wife's 60th birthday celebration. We'll rethink the next time if we return to Palisade, at this point , I don't think so.
Atmosphere and service were good. My wife has the black cod and it came very salty. The rest of the food were ok. We were surprised to see a 4.6% wage tax added to the bill. When asked the response was that it was instituted for the past four years.
The place was very nice. The waiter was very good. But the first steak I ordered was
full of gristle and even the waiter himself tried to cut it and couldn't. After that, he
did not offer another steak, I had to ask for it. The second steak was good, but the
first one put the damper on the meal overall.
The salads and the dessert were good.
You pay for the location most of all. So for that reason I would probably recommend.
We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary. The waiter and ambiance were excellent as was the food.
Great food with fantastic service!
I have been to Palisades many times but was really disappointed this time. I requested a window table for a special occasion and we were seated at a cocktail size table still with a view but basically in the middle of things. I order the pan seared scallops that not only were gritty in every bite but were not seared. They were served on a plate smeared with butternut squash purée. That flavor dominated everything on the plate. My husband wasn’t impressed with his meal either. The manager did take the scallops off the bill but I will probably never choose Palisades again.
During COVID we understand the restaurant can only have 50% occupancy along with safe social distancing. That said, the dining room felt warm and alive. The atmosphere was lovely.
The service was friendly, suggestive and responsive.
The food, however, was terribly disappointing.
Oysters were fine, shucking was good but not great, mignonette was over shalloted.
Calamari was inedible due to the sticky sweet sauce it was drowning in, and the fried calamari and vegetables with their thick batter were mushy and not palatable in the syrupy goo. It truly changed our appetites for dinner.
Our server highly recommended we try one of the Chef's specials. King crab legs, asparagus and scalloped potatoes (Au gratin).
Crab was good, but we mostly credit the crab for that.
The scalloped potatoes were without flavor and to top it off..... they were undercooked and still crunchy! We were so excited for the rich decadent potato dish that was highly recommended by our server, only making it doubly disappointing.
The asparagus was under trimmed and under cooked making the green stems both crunchy and fibrous requiring much of it to be left behind.
Creme brulee was cold. It was preflamed to a gorgeous crackling golden shell, that was ruined by refrigeration before serving.
Flame it to order and the lovely custard will be slightly warmed and silky underneath the toasty crunchy candy shell.
We took home our left over crab.
Made luscious herby crab & avocado omelette the next morning.
My experience here was incredible! The area was open and distancing was excellent! The service was incredible and they exceeded my expectation!
The steak was not what I thought it would be, and the salmon was way to salty. For a finer steakhouse the food doesn’t match the cost. The setting and the view was beautiful and the service was good.
My husband and I absolutely love this place. We always celebrate our birthdays/ anniversary and date nights away from the kids here. This is the first time we have been back since pre-covid and were so excited to have a relaxing evening. The service and ambiance was stellar (as always), however the food was incredibly disappointing. I’m unsure if they have switched around chefs/ menus or are maybe even trying to save money on food... but 3 of the four dishes we ordered weren’t good, at all. The scallops had no flavor, seemed to be covered in a half can of corn and resembled rubber. The halibut was FULL of bones (I know when ordering fish you can expect some bones, but this was extreme). The pork belly would have been good, had it not been completely smothered in salt and then covered in a sauce completely made of salt. We have never before left palisade feeling anything but satisfied and that we had some wonderful food, I hope this was a one off time but who knows. I wrote them an email last week, but they have yet to respond which is why I am now leaving this review. I hope they get it together with the food- it used to be our favorite place!
Absolutely love Palisade! The food was delicious, the service is on top of their game, and the layout of the restaurant is so cool! Definitely worth it!
The most beautiful view of the Seattle skyline in a remote quiet destination. Great selections and varieties of food for all pallets
This is very sad to write this review. We had been fairly frequent customers of Palisades in years past going for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. We decided to go for the Seafood special that was advertised via Gmail. When we got there we were told that most items for the seafood dinner for 2 were unavailable so we chose to order from the regular menu. We ordered King crab legs. They came hot which I thought was odd but the worst part was the texture. They were dry and had an odd flavor. I didn't like the clarified unsalted butter that came with it. It had a chemical flavor. I asked for regular melted butter but was told they had none. At the end of dinner we got a sales pitch to join some club to get discounts which I didn't appreciate. Bottom line is this is not the same Palisades as it was 5 years ago.
On line Palisade had a restaurant week menu but it was as not available. We had a set seafood menu that was fine but not what we had expected.
I thought the menu listed was for 2020 oct/nov restaurant week but maybe I was mistaken.
Our server made us feel welcomed and gave us just the right amount attention!
Lovely evening with good food, excellent service and a great view for of the marina and Seattle skyline.
This has been our go-to place for family celebrations but our last experience was disappointing. Palisades is now owned by the Landry restaurant chain and the quality has declined while prices have risen. We had an excellent server and she saved what would have been a completely disappointing evening. The food is not inspired, not well-prepared and exceedingly expensive for what you get. We will be visiting other locally owned restaurants for future celebrations.
The ambiance and service was, as usual, very good. The drinks were also good, but the entries were disappointing.
I’ve been to Palisades many times over the last 20 years. It’s disappointing to see the turn it has taken. The only steak on the menu was a sirloin. In the past the had a great filet. The bisque was good but it was hardly over room temperature. The bread was very nice but was not served until after the soup course?? I’ve had better steaks at Applebee’s. We had our steak served Oscar style with salmon and crab. The steak was tough and dry. They did take one steak off the bill and apologized. Not what we’d hoped for our anniversary dinner.
Of course the view is awesome. And the waitress was great. Maybe it’s just because it’s the year of the COVID. I’ll check back it a couple more years.
It’s a great place with a fantastic view for a date. The service was spectacular as well as the food.
From the manhattans to the crispy calamari to the delicious bread, Palisade delivered! My husband had the crab and shrimp bisque, which was probably the best I’ve ever tasted, and I had the Chef’s seasonal salad with prawns. The food was really outstanding and, while a bit pricey, it was worth it!
I had a lovely evening with 2 guests, to introduce a newcomer to a City Institution. The GM and Asst GM were kind enough to come and say hello, offering any assistance desired. It had been a very long time since my last visit, and I will be sure to come again soon.
We celebrated a birthday and our server, Justin, was wonderful. We will be back!
A serious let down from what I expected. Landry's, purchased Palisade and a few other local restaurants. Landry's - typical corporate owner - doesn't care about the customers and if their responsiveness to customers is any indication, we can expect this place to go downhill quickly. Sorry to see it because Palisade used to be a great place! Oh well... there are plenty of other good local restaurants.
We went because they had a special on their website. When the waiter came we found out sorry that’s only Monday thru Thursday and he told us lots of people were asking about it. Not happy but we were there so we ate good food and drinks.
It was a fantastic meal. I had the Halibut with the American Wagyu beef, which was delicious. I sat right by the window and had an excellent view of the harbor as well as the Seattle skyline. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.
dinner was great as well as the service and atmosphere
Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. A great experience and still one of my most favorite places to dine.
This place is stunning and The food was amazing! Our server Justin was awesome as well.
Palisade is a reliable place - we go there regularly. This time I had a paella (one of the specials for the evening). The base of the paella itself, at $75, was good, but maybe not $75 good. But there was a _gigantic_ lobster tail on top which is what I think I was paying for. And the lobster was done perfectly. No regrets.
The steak and lobster tail special was incredible...also, best moscow mules I've ever had.
We have always loved Palisades and had our 50th wedding anniversary party with 70 people . Then our son was married there. This year we knew that Palisades would do a great job of keeping people safe so we had our 58th anniversary this past week inside by the windows looking out on our great city.and the marina. We had the seafood dinner and everything was excellent. The carb cake look and tasted yummy. The shrimp salad was just right. Then came the salmon dinner which was outstanding. What great place and so close to our home. We live just above in Magnolia so you see we will be back!
The food was delicious, and the presentation flawless. My only complaint was that my wagging steak seemed a bit on the lean side. It was not as tender as I expected.
Also. the music choice was not great. Instrumental would have been a better option than the big band / oldies standards mix they were playing.
We went for my birthday and I was BEYOND impressed. Usually seafood restaurants on the dock are underwhelming but this experience left me speechless. Not only was the food amazing, the service was well catered and enjoyable. I have already recommended this restaurant to friends and family
Restaurant decor is very dated. It’s need a remodel.
Great food, lovely sunset, wonderful staff. A spider did spin down from above right in front of me, all good
