One of our favourite Restautants locally, recommend a visit to anybody, staff are friendly and helpful.
First time eating Lebanese and was very pleased. The service was friendly and quick. The food was very tasty and liked by all.
Well worth a visit.
Delicious food and great service. The manager made a real effort to make us feel welcome and made some wonderful menu suggestions. We will definitely be back.
Late Saturday dinner for 5. We were the only people there and, under stark lights, there was no atmosphere. The service was prompt but unsmiling. To be fair, the food was good and decent value. The wine, however, was overpriced. I could imagine this would be fine as a good value, no-fuss night out when it’s busy, or a decent takeaway.
The food was very fresh and the set menus were a really good option for people like us who cannot make up their mind what they want! The St Thomas Lebanese wine was delicious.
Don't take my word, go and try it if you like this style of cuisine, we do and go regularly which in itself tells you how much we enjoy it.
Normal service resumed , another great evening at this local gem, we will be back soon.
We go to this restaurant on a regular basis but on this occassion the normal chef was not cooking and we noticed straight away, both by the presentation and that the food was dry and lacked the taste we look for in lebaanise cuisine that we so much enjoy. What was most disappointing was we had brought friends with us so felt we had over sold the evening.
I was hoping to find a place to take a group of journalists next month. This isn't it.
Lukewarm welcome: "Any more coming?" Well, no, I booked for one......
Music playing in restaurant area, clashing badly with music played in kitchen.
Little cheese pasties seemed homemade. Nice. Main dish: lamb, looking very like the scrapings from an oven tray. A tiny smear of tahini sauce. Salad, possibly one lettuce leaf, half a slice of tomato.
Pleasant enough flavour, but oooh this is meagre. I've had much better food, and a hugely better welcome, in caffs.
Overall feeling: it was a real nuisance they had to open for today's two customers.
My search continues.
The lighting is harsh and unromantic and the dining atmosphere is spoilt by constant food delivery guys coming in and out without even removing helmets. Food nice but service cold.
We went to the restaurant following our visit to the Kew Garden Chris lights. The food was excellent - both the mezes and mains.
We will definitely return when we are next in the area
Service very good and food is delicious.
The waiter was very polite and we enjoyed meal booked for 2 people.
House white wine was lovely and cold and very palatable.
Would definitely recommend.
Really enjoyed our meal out, fresh and tasty and good service. It was a shame we were the only ones in there as I’m sure the atmosphere would be great if it was full. Good value for money.
Kew's little Jem, if you have not tried it you should , we love the place, congratulations to George and his staff for making everybody so welcome.
Great evening, good company, fantastic food, try it out is our recommendation.
Quite good portions with good deals. The meat is tender, starters are delicious and quite a big variety to pick from. Only one waitress was around but the service was not interrupted. The lamb shishs need a little bit of marinating, though. We’ve tried a couple of starters and mains and everything was delicious. Will definitely visit again.
Great tasting authentic Lebanese food. The mezze is varied and can make a meal. Main courses feature deliciously tender lamb - try the Palmyra special. Recommend booking - it is a fairly small place and gets busy at weekends.
What more an I write the places great, stop reading the reviews and visit, it's worth the trip
Can't write enough about the restaurant in Kew if you have not tried it then you do not know what your missing. Good food, great staff and friendly atmosphere
Absolutely fabulous food, we will definitely be returning, and soon! We had heard good things about Palmyra so decided to go for our anniversary meal; lovely small restaurant in Kew, attentive service and offers excellent Lebanese wine too.
Decent but not outstanding Lebanese food
The service got off to a bumpy start. On A very hot day we asked for a jug of tap water and got given a small glass each of tepid water. On asking again we were given ice in our glasses and thereafter they were topped up assiduously.
We all took set menu 2. The starters were OK but not exceptional, apart from some notable hummus and lovely delicate bread. Sadly there was only one oration of prawns left (we all love prawns) so we shared one portion and one of mixed seafood and some lamb with “spicy sauce” ( which was very mild). To my surprise all the main courses were really delicious ! I usually prefer starters but the prawns ( when I could scrounge a morsel) were large juicy and delicious and the lamb flavourful and melt in the mouth tender. All this was followed by some very good almond and Baileys ice cream and , a nice touch, some complimentary and very delicate baklava for the one member of our party who hadn’t ordered pudding.
Palmyra is very handy for Kew gardens and very reasonable in price. We paid under £30 a head.
A decent to good neighbourhood restaurant. Recommended.
What more can I write, other than if you have not tried this restaurant in sleepy Kew then you must. Big thank you to George the owner who always makes guest very welcome, looking forward to our next visit.
What more can I say other than if you have not tried Palmyra then you are missing out. The food is great, as is the service and the staff talk to you as an individual going back again this week.
We love this restaurant, so took some friends who had never been before, they are now converts to the cuisine and will know doubt be going back as will we. Big thank you to all the staff.
If you love Lebanese cooking then you must visit this restaurant the food is great the service attentive and the price reasonable, has rapidly become one of our favourite local Restautants.
Another great evening at Palmyra, throughly recommend this restaurant it ticks all the boxes will be visiting again very soon.
Another great evening at this local restaurant, we think it's great with good tasty food at a reasonable price, will be back soon.
Wonderful find, and right on our door step, had a great evening, spent quite a but of time talking with the owner and the food origins. Food was great and and just as its should be for the cuisine, will definitely be going again soon. This restaurant is work travelling for, staff are friendly and helpful and accommodated all our requirements can't wait for our next visit.
A visit to Kew Gardens called for a local restaurant and whilst Palmyra was not the closest the short extra walk was certainly worth it. The food was exquisite and the service excellent. We engaged with the owner, (why would you not?) and made an ordinary event into an extraordinary experience, and isn't that what we look for? I have already spoken of that experience to family and friends and I look forward to a return visit soon.
Great food, very flavorful and fresh. Try the sausage in pomegranate sauce. We found this place before a night time tour of Kew Gardens. Very close to the Victoria Gate. Would definitely visit again next time in London.
Paid an early evening visit before evening entry into Kew. Great location. Good food easily catering for two of us that must avoid dairy.
Great authentic Lebanese cuisine. On arriving we found that they ha d a special deal of a starter, main and glass of wine for £20, which was great value. Also served complimentary baklava. The service was excellent, delicious food, and relaxed atmosphere. A good local restaurant, recommended
A very pleasant meal and nice friendly service - all in all exellent.8
We enjoyed the food very much. We'll for sure return.
We had booked the set mezze with glass of wine, but on looking at the menu there were too many non-vegetarian mezze included so we chose a la carte. The starters were ok, nothing special. Our waiter should have been at home in bed, he was seriously ill and sneezing and coughing constantly, also, understandably, not very happy. That was a bit off putting. My main (the mixed veg Palymyra) was a very underwhelming fry up of a bag of stir-fry veg. Husbands lamb that was supposed to be chunks so as to avoid the dreaded kebab, was just slighly larger slices off the kebab. Lebanese red wine was fine. Ambiance: cheap but not particularly cheerful! Disappointing.
We were made to feel very welcome and there was an excellent choice of delicious food! Good value for money too!
We were visiting Kew at Christmas & wanted somewhere close afterwards to eat.
It's a 5 minute walk from Kew tube, but set off to the side of the main route to the Gardens so we only knew about it through Opentable - it is a hidden Gem!
We had the 2 course meal with glass of wine deal.
The waiter was very generous with the wine, filling 4 glasses with a whole bottle (no measuring) & it was of a nice quality instead of being the cheapest they could give away.
The starters were generous & interesting, lovely & fresh & zingy.
We chose to put all the mains into the middle & eat them meze style too. They were all very tasty & washed down nicely with a reasonably priced extra bottle.
We also received complimentary baklava for dessert - bonus!
Will definitely be back the next time we visit Kew
Great food as usual and at a very economical price. Will always come back for a casual meal.
Love going to Palmyra - food consistently good - we always have a large selection of vegetarian Meze and don't stray into the main courses, as we are too full. Natural Gluten Free options available Good Lebanese Beer - Al Maaza and at the end of the meal we have a glass of Lebanese Nectar which is a delicious after dinner sweet wine.
The quality of the meat was poor. Luckily we had an offer through open table otherwise we would have been very disappointed
