Fun spot for a big birthday dinner! Thanks for accommodating our big group last minute and helping the birthday girl have a great day. Delicious margaritas too!
Family visit
We had just terrible service. The waitress was misinformed about the birthday specials, said I do not get free drinks which I do, and even got the bill wrong at the end. I had to convince her that I was right and even pull up information on the website. She was also not attentive on drinks. I always go here for my birthday but will never be coming back. So disappointed.
We made a reservation for 12 in advance. The service was poor and we got the feeling they didn’t want our business from the moment we arrived. We waited an eternity to place our order and had to request refills on our lemonades. The restaurant was not busy, it was a week night. Otherwise I would have understood a long wait. The food was the only redeeming part of the experience! After we got our food...we never saw our server again.
We enjoyed dining outside, great neighborhood! Food was okay- service excellent.
Decent texmex but nothing special. Margaritas seemed to be a bit short on tequilla.
Food was great and our waitress was so nice! Highly recommend 😊
Amazing value - 2 for 1 margs! Had a fun mariachi band, but that made it a bit loud.
The drinks were generous in size and quality for the prices! The Minneapolis Burrito is amazing and the guac is made table side to order.
I will be back for further menu choices.
Very welcoming staff, large selection on the menu, fair price for the quantity. Definitely couldn't finish in one sitting.
The only complaint is it was a little dark in the room. Otherwise a great dining experience..
Great place for a group to get together. The food was tasty and so were the drinks.
Pancho Villa is our family's go to spot for Mexican on Nicollet. We have season tickets to the Childrens' Theatre so it's a great before or after theater meal. The staff are helpful even when the restaurant is busy and the place is quite kid friendly. We love the chips and salsa (first bowl is free) and their food is tasty.
Parking during the day is a mess. The restaurant was empty at noon. Food was OK.
Great place for my family to eat, friendly server and food was good !
We will and have recommended Pancho Villas. It was a great evening.
Had a family dinner here - and I thought the food and service was excellent. My niece had been here on a busier evening and said the service wasn't as good, but we were there on a quiet night and they were very attentive, even to the 3 month old baby in the group. Food was excellent and very authentic Mexican - even had guacamole made tableside with some spicy jalapeños in it - it was excellent. Tortilla soup was a hit, so was the Red Snapper (head and all). I was visiting family and friends (I'm from AZ) and I definitely will be back again next time I'm in town.
I had my birthday at Pancho Villa. I didn't even mention to them that it was my birthday, but they saw presents my friends brought and came over and said since it's my birthday all my drinks are free. They also brought a free dessert with a sparkler and a birthday shot. On top of that, the food was excellent and the service was quick. I would definitely come back!
Authentic Mexican food. Great atmosphere, great food.
The dinner was on Easter Sunday and they had no desserts.......I wanted at least one dessert and probably two...they were out of Flan and the cake. I didn't want chocolate cake either, that was the only thing that they had.
Great value and good food. Very great place for large groups and special events. Staff is very skilled with large groups.
We went here for a large group birthday dinner and it was SO MUCH FUN! Free drinks for our birthday girls and great food. The service was a little slow because they were understaffed, but our waitress was apologetic and efficient. At the end we got flaming birthday shots, cake, and sombreros. Great for a slower-paced ladies' night!
Great service and great food, I love the margaritas they get you just right!
Very authentic restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere and service.
Great food and great service. I will definitely be coming back. Great place to celebrate a birthday!
Maybe it was my bad mood (inauguration day), but I found this place to be forgettable, except for our friendly waitress, and the mole sauce was good.
Loud with mariachi band. Big plates of food, great for a birthday party singing and the band playing. Definitely not intimate and peaceful - but not what we were looking for. Great for large group!
As always great food with the most accommodating staff. Had a reservation for 10 and more people showed up. They were snapping tables together for us happily, even on a Saturday night. Always an enjoyable atmosphere and food!
The food was tasteless, from the refried beans to the mole sauce. The margarita had an odd flavor.
Really really good Mexican food --
we went there two nights in a row it was so good!!
Terrific meals in fun atmosphere! Didn't even know about the 2-for-1 tall draft beers special until we got there -- thanks to our speedy and friendly waiter, we drank well!
TIP: There are 2 rooms -- the main room is a little warmer and more lively ... the second room to the left is a little cooler and quiet if you need to have important conversation. Table-side guacamole was DELICIOUS!! Enjoy :)
Easy, fresh, authentic Mexico, simply presented and delicious. The seafood options are great - fresh oysters, whole snapper and tilapia, sea bass filet, the latter 3 with a choice of preparations - I like the Vera Cruzana, light with olive and a bit of spice. A reliable Mexican choice for those who don't want false-gourmet or americanized Mexican food.
I had a great time at Pancho Villa with my co-workers, great food & service they forgot one thing my birthday shot with the Sombro I had to ask to put it on.
We go here often for 2-4-1 margaritas & there are perks when you celebrate here. The staff is always friendly, especially Martha!
Great Mexican food!
The table side guac is wonderful.
Our table was not ready at our reservation time although there was plenty of open tables. 2 servers were assigned to our party of 19. Servers took drink and food orders randomly therefore items were served as they were ready. 4 people ate before the rest of us were served. Drinks took too long and food took over 45 minutes.
Such a good time at Pancho Villa. Can't beat the all day 2 for 1 margaritas and the live mariachi band!
Staff was eager to seat is and the place was almost empty. Overall it was run down and smelled of cleaner and something bad underneath. Ordered Mpls nachos and overpriced margaritas - nachos covered in wet onions and almost no cheese - chicken on them was ok. Won't be going back.
Wait staff was fun and very accommodating when our reservation number went over the original size. They kept the margaritas flowing and every one loved the place.
The broth was flat, the chicken was bland. I was expecting a sour & spicy soup and did not get that. The server was very friendly and surprisingly the place was "dead". I have had better tortilla soup elsewhere and if I go back, I will order the enchiladas.
