Patrick's Bakery Cafe

The only reason I gave a “4 star rating” for ambiance is that I prefer to sit on the porch which is not nearly as nice as inside. I prefer the porch during Covid because of the high ceilings, strong air exchange and distance between tables.

We love Patrick’s and we are so impressed with how they have responded to these Covid restrictions. There sheltered outside space was spacious and warm and we felt completely safe. Brian was our server and was so professional and present without being intrusive. The food was delicious as always and the wine French and fabulous and reasonably priced. Patrick’s scored big on all counts!

As always Patrick’s is a fabulous. Quality of food is amazing. Service is attentive. We all felt safe dining in. Will certainly be back!

Usually the food here is quite good but the pastry was hard not flaky and the walleye sandwich didn't taste quite right like it was old.

This restaurant does an amazing job. Beautiful delicious food and wonderful attentive service. Happily, they have added enclosed space on the sidewalk, so there are more warm tables available. We are so lucky to have this cafe in the Southdale area.

Our first time here we went for breakfast but reservations weren't really needed/enforced. It was a bit confusing where to order. There seemed to be 2 areas for ordering but only 1 set of cash registers. I would have given 5 stars for Overall except for that bit on confusion.

Definitely will be back for many of the wonderful pastries and desserts. YUM!

They are doing their best so we feel comfortable and safe eating in their tent.

Patrick’s newly enclosed outdoor patio is fantastic! With very little imagination one can feel one is in a Paris Bistro! Their Steak Frites + Beef Bourguignon never disappoint.

Always a great meal with great service . A real hidden gem .

Very nice restaurant. Like the variety of choices on the dinner menu and the affordable wine choices. Wonderful pastries for dessert and excellent French bread. Knowledgeable servers. Felt safe in Covid times

It didn't appear we needed reservations, but I was glad we did anyway. Loved the food, service and ambiance.

We sat outside and were very comfortable. The food was great with the exception of the steak frites. The steak was a bit tough.

Excellent service; food and pastries AMAZING!!! The place is clean.

It wasn’t that busy, maybe 5-8 tables and 3 servers on and all of them acted like they were really busy. Ignored me when I was looking to be seated. Once seated I ordered a desert and coffee. My desert came and the server left, I assumed to get my coffee and come back. She later came back to see how my desert was. I said “can I ask about the coffee?” Her response was “sure, what would you like to know?” I replied “where is mine?” That triggered her memory and she hadn’t even put the order in.

The desert I ordered was some chocolate and pistachio cheesecake deal and there’s so much chocolate “fondant” (a runny mess of over rich chocolate syrup) and chocolate moose, that I couldn’t even taste the pistachio. Even when I tasted the green stuff that was supposed to be pistachio cheese cake. It was also so rich I could only eat half of what the provide for fear of getting ill at the table.

The wait staff is completely inept and unprofessional. It makes question the rest of the business enough that this was my first and only time I will be visiting.

Wonderful creative food. Our server was exceptional. We were given a complimentary amuse bouche that was delicious! As always, the desserts are really yummy and beautiful works of art.

We always enjoy dinners at Patrick’s because the food is consistently good as is the service. This time we chose to eat outside which was a disappointment due to noise and heat.

We sat outside and it was perfect for a conversation.

Quality of food was the best part for me. The service was slow, spent at least 30 minutes more time there than necessary or expected. I can accept that, it happens. However, the music speaker was over our table so that was a bit loud and competed with the single person sitting over 6 feet from us, she was talking on the phone the WHOLE time, including while she ate. Her voice carried quiet impressively, but did not lean towards a nice, relaxing evening for us.

Great cafe with amazing bakery and breakfast items to choose from. They do have a lunch menu as well. The patio dining is well shaded.

Patrick’s never disappoints. Good food, good service with a neighborhood bistro feel. Save room for desert.

1st time eating here & we will be back. Tables were set romantically, the food was fabulous & the service was perfect.
Our only wish was to have French inspired piped in music, to match their food & desserts.

Had a reservation for 4:30pm. No one was at the door to seat us. Went to counter and was told dinner service didn't start till 5pm. Was told I could grab any table, look at the menu and order at the counter. Ok, fine. Went to order. Was told they won't start making dinner items until 5pm. Walked out. Workers were obviously preoccupied with other duties than customer service. Don't know why they offer 4:30pm reservation. Won't be back. Had a much nicer experience at Barbette's for French dining.

First time going to Patricks for a Sunday morning breakfast. I was really impressed with how quickly the food came to our table. The food itself was really good. Don't pass up the bakery case. I took one of the chocolate mousse filled cakes and it was sinfully delicious. I've already been telling others about how good this place is.

The chef is on his game. Everything was excellent and social distancing was carefully and artfully observed.

Fantastic restaurant. The outdoor strip mall location was deceiving — this place had great appetizers, entrees, wine and delectable desserts! We sat in the outdoor patio next to a lovely flower border. Clean and plenty of social distance. All staff wore masks (including over their noses). We will definitely be back!

Walleye was fishy

Great experience......eating outside in Minnesota on a warm summer night! Walleye was delicious.....Love the warm baguette! Best part.....choosing a dessert from the bakery case to enjoy at home.....don't miss the fruit tart. !

First time here and very impressed with the staff and facility. The food was quick and very good. Presentation was picture worthy!

This little neighborhood gem has been serving up great meals and bakery items for many years. It is always a reliable go-to spot with consistent food and always pleasant wait staff.

Came for our Anniversary dinner. Everything was very good. Liz , our server, was very friendly.

Never a bad meal at Patrick's. Casual atmosphere with fine food. Amazing deserts. Sunday brunch is one of the best in the Cities. Steak frites dinner is like an evening trip to Paris. Don't pass on the French Onion soup.

Great food and service :-) love this place for date nights

The Cafe is doing a terrific job with the social distancing and it feels good and safe to be there. We keep going for pick up meals during the "stay home order " and now we were back in the "terrace."
Service is vey amicable and pronto.
The menu lacks of gluten free items and it was hard to find something to eat. I was ok with just the "creme brulle." I hope they make it with the right ingredients.
Overall it is a great experience as usually.
