An outstanding dinner experience!
This was our 5th dinner at Peninsula Grill. The quality of the food and service is very consistently great.
I had the special beet salad and sea scallops and both were fresh and delicious! Dessert was chocolate lava cake with caramel sea salt ice cream. So good!
My husband had the swordfish and our friend had the grouper special. They enjoyed their meals tremendously.
My friend shared coconut cake with my husband and they loved it.
We shared a superb bottle of Sancerre with our meal and excellent cocktails to start.
The service was very attentive without being overbearing.
We will be dining at Peninsula Grill again and again!
Many thanks to the entire staff!!!
This is an excellent restaurant with elegantly prepared food from the best ingredients and served with elegant style. Each item is uniquely prepared in the most tasty way. It is expensive but worth it.
We were seated very close to couples on either side of us, so there was absolutely no privacy. The restaurant is, for the most part, in one large room and it was very busy and noisy. Consequently, we could not have any type of conversation. For a high end restaurant, this was disappointing. The food was above average, but I can’t give it a perfect review. The wedge was ok and the French onion soup was “different” (my husband didn’t care for it and they did not charge us so that was considerate of the restaurant). The filet and strip steaks were fine and cooked properly...no complaints there. The coconut cake was a large portion and very good. Unfortunately, because of the noise level, we won’t return. It wasn’t a pleasant dining experience for us.
Love the nice "secret" garden path to the restaurant. The food was delicious, and the Original Rum drink was the best!!
Food was fabulous! It was very, very, very loud in the restaurant.
great food and environment , we will be back enjoyed it very much thanks
Usually eating out on Valentine’s Day isn’t great because restaurants cram people in and resort to a fixed menu. Peninsula Grill however stuck to the regular plan and full menu which as usual was wonderful and perfectly executed.
Only negative was many patrons were loud and obnoxious. Really nothing u can do about it but was surprised how annoying and inconsiderate some people can be. Service was outstanding, personal, attentive, knowledgeable!!
Great restaurant and our favorite in Charleston. Food is great as always and the service was outstanding. A little loud this time but overall not to bad.
Great ambiance and service. Food was good (B+), certainly overpriced. Great list of wines.
Food was very good. Very nice restaurant. Fairly noisy. Wine list could have been better. They had a sommelier to help pick out wines but that is because you had to pick from unknown wines that were poorly rated.
Better than good! We celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary at Peninsula Grill and it was an amazing experience. The food, service and our waiter, Justin, made it a memorable evening. My husband and I made a vow to celebrate our anniversary there every year going forward.
I just love this place. We are local and it’s always spot on. Came for early dinner before a concert. Flounder special was delicious. Our server was so lovely, professional and knowledgeable. Delightful evening.
The ambiance of the dining room was wonderful. The service was top notch as all staff was on point and attended to your every need! The evening topped off with the famous and amazing coconut cake that I had heard about! Well worth sharing! Will definitely go back. Ben was our waiter and was top notch making our birthday dinners special for both of us.
Truly wonderful. I would like to thank the entire staff for making our wedding anniversary so special. Our server Robert was fantastic and very attentive and knowledgeable which made the meal wonderful. We were seated where we could look out on the fountain which the wife and I loved. The meal we both had the she crab soup which both of us loved and then had the duck breast which was cook to perfection. The desert with Happy Anniversary spelled out on the plates surprised and delighted my wife especially. I think the only drawback was the noise level did seem to become more on the moderate to energetic level. But other than that it was a truly wonderful experience and wonderful anniversary. Thank you very much.
Excellent food, great service, too loud for romantic night out though
Great food, fantastic wine list. Very attentive staff. A great place for a special dinner.
Outstanding food and service. Overall ambience of the restaurant was excellent. One of my favorite restaurants in Charleston.
Peninsula Grill has always been one of our favorite restaurants from when it opened in 1997. Great food, great service and upscale ambience. Be sure to save room for the PG's incredible coconut cake for dessert.
Peninsula Grill is a very elegant restaurant with top-notch service. We had the absolute pleasure of dining here for our 30th wedding anniversary. Our server, David, was amazing. The service, ambience and quality of food in this restaurant was amazing. We would definitely return when visiting Charleston.
We also had breakfast here two mornings, as we were guests of The Planter’s Imm. Breakfast was delicious, well- presented and worth the money. Rebecca was a wonderful server.
The attention to detail in this restaurant should be noted.
Thank you for a wonderful experience.
World class restaurants, as this one is want to be, shouldn’t gouge on “The Specials this evening.”
$42 for Flounder which was $10 over the other similar fish dinner is excessive!
Be up front or be gone!
Excellent service, amazing food, intimate atmosphere.
This was an outstanding experience. Awesome food and environment. Dave was our server and was spectacular. I will be back.
A perfect dinner from beginning to end!
Not one person had on a jacket except my spouse. The web site should not indicate jacket recommended if they permit guests to wear anything from jeans to T shirts.
Our Anniversary and they made even more special with an incredible dessert they presented to us with Happy Anniversary written on the plate, written in chocolate ❤️❤️ Food and personal service was amazing!!
Excellent food, service and drinks! Will go again. Highly recommend scallops, Brussels sprouts and their dirty martinis!
Overall this was a pretty good experience. The positives: the food was very good, the menu was basic but not too exciting, the waiter was pretty good but distracted with a larger party, table and atmosphere were good. The negatives: Bartender was cold and not at all friendly. She was clearly interested in another customer at the bar and gave us minimal service. The pricing was high for the level of service. Overall a decent experience, but when you pay those prices you expect a bit more.
Our favorite Charleston never fails to provide an outstanding dining experience. The host staff, waiter, sommelier, servers and all at Peninsula Grill provide excellent service. The menu items are all well prepared and mouth wateringly good! Another great evening at this Charleston classic.
We cannot say enough positive things about our visit to the Pennisula Grill. Waiter was extremely attentive, helpful and knowledgeable. Food (duck and scallops) was both delicious and eye appealing. The coconut cake was definitely the "ultimate"! We will certainly return when we are again in Charleston.
Great service and food! We will be back for sure!!
It was a beautiful restaurant, delicious food, exceptional service. Need I say more?
It was a little on the expensive side but delicious & well worth it!
Perfect place to celebrate an Anniversary or any special occasion. Would go back in a heartbeat
Always first class, exceptional service and food.
Always a pleasure to dine at Peninsula Grill.
Great food. Service was excellent.
