From start to finish, an incredible experience. Ambiance is warm and classy. Service was very professional and good. Food was simply outstanding.
Service was fantastic but the steak was not what you would expect from a dinner at this price point.
Great food and excellent service. Everyone treats you like family
We had a wonderful dining experience at Peninsula Grill. The service is the best in Charleston, so attentive and warm. The entrees of Halibut and Chicken were delicious. Wished we had saved room for renowned Coconut Cake!
We had not eaten here in many years. Frankly, we were very disappointed in our experience; mainly in the price of the food. $65 for lamb chops! It boils down to the experience and food not being worth the price. Unfortunately, Charleston as a whole is now seriously over priced in all its tourist venues; hotels, restaurants, etc.
Have dined all over US and other countries . This was one of our top dining experiences. Do not believe could be any better. Great food , wine list and wait staff. Ambiance was wonderful .
The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The attention paid to the guest was exceptional. Everyone acknowledged our anniversary and brought a special dessert taste so we could end the evening on a sweet note.
It is a nice restaurant and dessert is good. Staff are friendly and accommodating. However, the amount of noise and chaos is overwhelming. Also there seemed to be a lot of candles in strange places (low tables next to wine bottles and next to drapped walls). I did not notice fire alarms or water sprinklers either. Kinda scary.
Delicious food and wine and wonderful, attentive service. Couldn't have been any better!
Absolutely amazing service and delicious. Fabulous wine recommendation and the coconut cake is the best.
Terrific dining experience! Charming room, wonderful food and friendly caring service. I've already recommended this restaurant to several friends. The one unhappy note if that the nearly full room was pretty noisy making conversation at times difficult.
The Peninsula Grill is fabulous, expensive, and worth every penny. As out of towners, we found this lovely restaurant years ago and have been returning whenever we visit Charleston. This trip we were staying at Wild Dunes Resort on Isle of Palms and easily got an Uber to and fro, making parking and the rainy weather a non-issue. Our 8:30pm reservation on a Thursday night seemed like it might prove to be less crowded than a weekend night, but when we arrived it was very busy, people with reservations were still waiting for their tables, and the noise level was quite loud. We were offered a lovely booth in the bar area and were happy to accept, although the noise level was equally loud there, too, making conversation difficult at times. The amuse bouche was a lovely touch. My rack of lamb was absolutely divine. My husband’s scallops were delicious. The coconut cake is always a must, and continues to be as delectable as ever. With all that said, despite the loudness, I still give Peninsula Grill the highest rating. First class all the way. We’ll back on our next visit to Charleston.
Our server Dave was amazing , the food was incredible - not a romantic spot but we had a great time celebrating our anniversary !
Phenomenal service by Johnathan. Food was delicious. Great restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Acoustics could use some work.
My wife and had dinner here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and we could not have made a better choice for this very special occasion. We had appetizers, entrees and their famous coconut cake for dessert. The food was excellent which made the high cost palatable. The service was outstanding and our waiter, Jonathan, was ultra attentive and didn’t miss a beat in making this an experience to remember. The entire restaurant operation was like a well choreographed dance show and all the staff seemed focused on a great customer experience. If we return to Charleston in the future, I’m sure we will have The Peninsula Grill on our list of restaurants to visit again.
best dining experiences and best wait staff in charleston. food was outstanding
First time visit to Peninsula Grill. Everything I had heard about it was spot on. Very cozy and hospitable environment. The staff was outstanding and service was on par with a high end establishment. The food was above expectation. Well prepared and creative. Overall highly recommend
Elizabeth was phenomenal!!!!!! Genuinely great service!
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Peninsula Grill and we think it was the best dining experience of our 48 years. Everything was perfect.
Lovely restaurant. Food and service were outstanding. Highly recommend.
Our anniversary dinner and it was wonderful. The food was cooked perfectly and the service was excellent.
This restaurant is very beautiful inside and out. We arrived for our reservation which was scheduled at 9:15pm, however our table wasn't available and after a 15 minute wait we asked to be seated outside. The hostess asked the manager and they advised that they could accommodate us, which turned out to be so much better than we expected! We pretty much had the whole patio to ourselves and it was really beautiful. There Baked Oysters "Rockefeller Style" were really well cooked and had an amazing flavor. The main dinner, Free Range Joyce Farms Chicken Breast was also very good, the meat slid off the bone and it wasn't over cooked at all.
Great location and service. It was loud and kids sat behind us watching iPads at full volume, which was still better than the original seat they put us in, by the bar in front of the exit. Food was fantastic and service was great. Would definitely go back even though us was very loud.
Outstanding service, food and atmosphere!
We had a fabulous birthday dinner with great service by Elizabeth. A little noisy but that did not ruin the otherwise perfect evening.
The staff was extremely welcoming and made our visit feel especially personalized. The food was phenomenal!! The service was impeccable. We cannot wait to go back!
Our waiter was attentive and our food delicious. We have eaten at the Peninsula Grill on numerous occasions and were never disappointed. Veterans’ Day was our 52nd Wedding Anniversary.
So we enjoyed an extended celebration in Charleston.
This place was mediocre and I expected much better for the price.
Peninsula is the best restaurant in Charleston. Food and service cannot be topped!
The steak was okay - not great. The menu was expensive, limited and the side dishes and drink offerings were not up to par. We visit Charleston often - would not return to this restaurant - definitely off the list.
Exceptional service. We felt very welcomed, not rushed.
Great overall experience. Food was very good all around. The service was superb and our server Jonathan was outstanding. Ambiance was excellent as well. My only complaint is that my wife and I both ordered Filets at med rare and her’s came out almost rare while mine was more on the medium side. A restaurant of this caliber should be spot on the cooking temps. Very impressed aside from that.
Phenomenal dinner and service. So good that we went back three times on our trip. The breakfast is Charleston’s hidden jewel.
Entertaining family in from out of town and brought them to our favorite CHARLESTON restaurant. Always amazing food and impeccable service. Highly recommend
Classic menu with impeccable service. Very nice recommendation from sommelier for our wine selection.
The food and service were both excellent. Get the coconut cake!
Jonathan was terrific and the service was outstanding. Surprised at noise level. Higher than anticipated. Food was excellent. Will definitely return.
Steak was cooked perfect and the coconut cake was amazing
The Peninsula Grill is always a great experience. It is my favorite restaurant in Charleston. I had the scallops and my husband had the rack of lamb. We topped things off with the coconut cake. It could not have been better. We will be back.
Outstanding as always! Never disappoints! Food is always a showstopper, not only in presentation but taste!
