Quick dinner time drink but friendly staff nice surroundings
Sadly my review reflects the fact that Piccolinos Knutsford did not accept my open table booking. Despite evidence in form of email.
At first they didn’t have our booking through open table so was very disappointed. Was put in poor table no atmosphere. Complained to manager who moved table and then who experience much better
Went for my sons 15th birthday which was on the booking. Spent the whole time having to ask for half the meal.
Garlic bread to start 2 of us had finished out of 3 the waitress cleared our things whilst my daughter was still eating. Lipstick all over the wine glass had to get another one ordered tomato and red onion with basil salad came as just 3 pieces of tomato no onion 1 basil leaf! Constantly asking where drinks were as they’d forgotten and sauces etc! Just really poor overall and not worth £110! Won’t go again.
I have enjoyed several meals at Piccolino's, Knutsford. The food has always been very good, and it has a great atmosphere.
Food and service fabulous and it's a beautiful setting.
My only disappointment was that the music was so loud it was difficult to talk!
Great restaurant, great food and excellent friendly service
But far too many kids in buggys always
I didn’t enjoy the food as much as I had for my big birthday the previous Saturday. I guess I didn’t choose the right food. Ŷ
An all time favourite of mine - we enjoyed our meal as much as ever
Our table was ready for us on arrival which was great as we were all hungry! The service was attentive but not intrusive. The portion sizes were appropriate for us to share a starter and side dishes. My main course of tuna was cooked to perfection. The wine of our choice was delightful. Altogether, we had a very enjoyable evening for my son's birthday.
We had booked our table for 12.30 and at 1.30, having finished our main course, we were asked to move tables as a party had arrived and they needed our table. I said no because we were comfortable and had booked it well in advance. Despite the manager saying it was no trouble, no one came and asked if we wanted dessert or coffee - it was downright rude and I won't be going there again.
We had a fabulous lunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was really good, especially the tuna!! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
We even got sample pieces of a gorgeous gluten free brownies as we were sat by the bar as they came out of the oven.
A great choice any time.
Good food and service and ambience is good, if a bit noisy, but unfortunately we were put upstairs where it is too quiet. The decor upstairs is rather plain but better for more privacy. The service is good so recommend to a friend. Tasty food.
The refurbished Piccalinos didn't disappoint. We sat upstairs on the terrace, which started as an open space and finished closed due to the rain! Great choice of food, from an innovative informative menu - where all the ingredients are sourced. We had starter and main, and I had an issue with my starter, but the waitress didn't make an issue of this, changed my choice and gave my colleague the chance to pause on her starter too. Food was great and wide choice, wine list extensive. This was my first trip to the Knutsford restaurant and it certainly won't be my last :)
We had dined there a few weeks and were happy as we were located on the roof terrace, this time we were placed in a side room on the first floor. The service was good to start with but slowed down significantly towards the end. My main course was not very exciting and was somewhat bland. The soup was good and desert was very good.
An easy mid week night out when the restaurant was reasonably quiet. We do like the Knutsford Piccolinos and have been many times before and will go many times more
Amazing food and amazing service . The outside terrace is just idyllic. Had a lovely evening with friends and will return as always.
This was a lovely place, great staff, the gentleman that served us sunday night was very polite! They had Big portions :)
Overall very good, the service for deserts and coffee was a little slow.
Great food, brilliant staff and they are great with children.
We had a table booked for 7pm and upon arriving were offered a table on the terrace; after making our way upstairs there were three other parties there - we had arrived at 18:55 and then had to wait 20 minutes before being offered a drink or menu. Within this time, two other parties arrived and had drinks on their tables and meals ordered.
At 19:15 when we were finally acknowledged, there was no mention of the 'Specials' menu along with all of the other diners who seemed to have it presented alongside their standard menu?
Once our starters arrived, we still had no drinks which eventually followed a few minutes later. Throughout the meal, we were not offered any further drinks from the ones that accompanied our starter and the empty glasses were still sat on our table as we left.
Absolutely appalling service - The staff should spend less time gathering around the bar upstairs and focus on serving the restaurant's customers.
I really loved Piccolino's as I loved the surroundings. The food was delicious especially I liked the starter, garlic bread and even the main, spaghetti and meatballs and the dessert, chocolate fondant. The service was really nice and kind. Definitely, I would recommend to go to Piccolino's.
Asked for outside seating when booking, but was put on downstairs outside area at bottom of stairs.
We where seated on first table where dirty dishes were stored and everyone was walking past us.
Asked to be moved and was seated at front entrance by window, much better. Pasta starters where lovely but fillet steak a little dry.
Nice menu, would definitely come again.
Food standard was very good as was the service. We however had major issue with our main courses. The 300g sirloin was nowhere near that weight. Understand that 300g would have been the uncooked weight but nevertheless it was undersized and poor value for over £30. My wife asked for a Chicken Parmigiana but out came a pizza with chicken. Considering the high standard of restaurants in Knutsford, I can't see us going back.
The food and wine are excellent as is the service. Only slight downside was we were on the veranda outside in the corner and there was a cold draught swirling around us that took the edge off the experience
Excellent food and service. The atmosphere and decor were excellent. The staff were all very professional and the dining out experience was highly enjoyable. Menu for brunch was interesting without being over whelming.
Excellent food, very friendly waiter and very good service and the atmosphere was lovely. Easy parking nearby made for an easy very enjoyable evening.
Every time I go to Piccolinos the food, staff and atmosphere are superb. I've never been up to the Terrace before and it was a great place for lunch. Very airy, if you're cold they have heat lamps. Faultless experience.
Have eaten in Knutsford many times, and Italian is my favourite, but never been here. Went for birthday meal. Extensive menu with lots of choice for me, a veggie. But also for fish, seafood and meat dishes alike. Very authentic Italian flavours, well executed. Lots of emphasis on sourcing products and all ingredients listed with their farms / boats etc! Staff were friendly and the right mix of attentive and relaxed. Not cheap, but no more than most restaurants and gastro pubs.
Pizza was tasteless. Service ok, but could have been more friendly. It is rather brusque. Ran out of my choice of ice cream.
Not been in a while, loved the new decor the food was excellent - will be back very shortly!
We booked a table for 3 for a friend's birthday on a Thursday evening. When we arrived we were invited to take a seat at the bar and order drinks while the staff finished preparing our table. We were seated in the front of the restaurant by the end of the bar - this location was perfect as we were not seated too close to other diners. We intended to have both food and drinks, where we were seated meant that we didn't have to worry about being too loud and disturbing other diners. We were also sat by a sort of mock-balcony that looked onto the Knutsford high street, the window was opened to one side which was perfect on a cool evening.
The menu is vast with plenty to choose from. We all had pasta dishes, I had prawns with courgette, linguine and chili, and whilst the food looked incredible it didn't meet my expectations in how it tasted. Everything was cooked perfectly but considering the price I paid I felt that the dish lacked the right amount of flavour. My friend had the pasta with prawns and crab and thought the same of her dish, whilst my other friend had the pasta with meatballs and a tomato-based sauce which she said was packed with flavour. Our order was taken within perfect timing of us choosing and our food was provided very efficiently. We were not rushed to pay and leave, we were left to finish our drinks and given plenty of time to look over the bill and sort the price between us.
The atmosphere was spot-on. The restaurant was lively and busy, and the music played seemed to be covers and relaxed remixes of chart songs, which was to our taste and we thoroughly enjoyed. The décor of the restaurant was like a luxury home, the colour scheme appeared to be turquoise and light beige which made the restaurant seem fresh and sophisticated.
Our evening at Piccolino's was overall a fantastic evening which we all enjoyed, we would definitely consider going again but perhaps order different dishes.
We love Piccolinos the food is of good quality and the service excellent. The refurbishment is fantastic. We were disappointed when after ordering a fairly substantial starter and garlic bread that we were immediately served our main course as soon as the starter plates were taken away. As nice as the food was we were too full to enjoy it and felt it was a wasted rather than a leisurely Saturday evening meal . We mentioned it to the waiter who is always charming and he admitted that we had been served quickly because of a large party on the terrace. Such a shame and we will make sure we say upfront that we want a gap between course next time.!
Had dinner on the Terrace with the girls on a Saturday night. Place had a real buzz felt like a private dining club with DJ on the decks. Great service and food. Have booked next visit already
Great food, buzzy atmopshere. Friendky and attentive service
The restaurant is beautiful and the food was excellent, however the service was very poor. We visited the restaurant for lunch on a Thursday and the music being played was very loud. I asked for it to be turned down twice, which is was, but within 10 minutes it was back up again. I asked for cutlery when my main course arrived, which took about 5 minutes to materialise.
The carbonara was delicious, the service was fantastic and it was the perfect spot for a romantic meal.
I recently ate at Piccolinos in Manchester and was disappointed but with a £20 incentive from their loyalty card decided to give the Knutsford restaraunt a go. We ate early on a Friday night and a large party was just finishing up but there were other tables occupied and there was a nice atmosphere. Food was so much better than my last experience. My date had the tuna, scallops and prawn skewers and I had the chicken and parsley. The skewers looked and tasted fantastic, I'll have them next time, and the chicken was moist and the balance if seasoning just right.
Piccolinos is not cheap, our bill was £70 before the £20 incentive which for two mains, a couple of sides, one starter, one sweet and a drink each is a tad on the high side.
The food is excellent with fresh fish specials.
I had a simple baked sea bass served off the bone.
Staff are great. Warm friendly and fab with kids.
