The food quality was good and the service was excellent. Décor could use a little improvement in my opinion

Had a great experience at Poached Pear. The food and service was phenomenal. Also love that it's BYOB.

I had the crab cakes and could not believe how big they were WITHOUT any breading at all! I was stuffed but couldn't stop eating them! My boyfriend had the lamb shank on special, and even though I'm not a fan of lamb, I tried some and really liked it!

Everything was prepared perfectly, and our server Kelly was top notch! Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We love our date nights and when we can score a reservation at Poached Pear we know we’re in for an outstanding evening!

Food and service very good. Read a lot of reviews before we went. The garlic shrimp app as raved about by many was good, but a little heavy for my liking with the sauce. The Sal’s w beets was amazing and they split it for us. Plenty to share. The pork chop sinner was just as amazing as all who reviewed it. Would never order a pork chop out , but this was well worth it. Cooked perfectly and the flavors were outstanding. The ancho coffee rubbed steak was very good too. Serving sizes were plenty for good eaters too!! Desserts amazing. Our server, Margie was very helpful in some decision making and very pleasant. Will definitely be back again!

Excellent food, service and overall experience

The Ahi Tuna was perfect. It was encrusted with sesame seeds and cooked rare. The ginger sauce and Chinese cabbage were a good fit. I must admit that I often go for this entree when we visit.

It does not get any better than the poached pear. We have only been a few times and each time is a true treat.

My second visit to the Poached Pear was to celebrate a birthday. We brought our own Manhattans and were offered fabulous ice filled glasses for our cocktail. The specials of the evening made it difficult to even look at the many choices offered on their regular menu. The food and service was outstanding; I'd forgotten just how good. It's also has a very charming atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.

We've been dining at Poached Pear since they opened, and it's always been fantastic! I had a lamb shank on top of mashed parsnips, and it was absolutely mouth wateringly delicious! My husband had a fish special and said it was equally as good! The dessert, bread pudding, was amazing! The service was top notch, and the spacing of the tables was perfect. We've been there many times, and will continue to go. It's fantastic!

We went as a family the other night. Our daughter has many food allergies and she always feels rather sheepish having to ask for special treatment, but the chef came over to our table and spoke with her allaying all of her fears! He told her he would accommodate her needs and that it was no problem! He made her feel better and the food he prepared was fantastic! We had a lovely time and our waiter was a lot of fun so all in all we truly enjoyed ourselves!

One of my favorite places. Excellent as always. Will be back soon.

Great service...and Chris our server was amazing and really made the night. Presentation was great... but the food didn't live up to the presentation. We had the Octopus and Calamari special....average at best. The mushroom appetizer though was very good. The veal porterhouse was just ok.....and the lobster/crabcake house special was also just ok. And our dessert...the Banana's Foster was good...but not great.

I guess in closing....my wife and I are still looking for that great awesome Monmouth county restaurant...we thought after reading about this place that we'd have it...but unfortunately we are still looking. Nicholas in Red Bank also didn't impress us. Hopefully we'll find that place....we consider ourselves foodies, God I hate that term....and we are not trying to be snobbish....but the restaurants in the north part of the state has raised the bar....still looking

Poached Pear never disappoints! Its been our favorite Point Beach restaurant since 2015!

As usual this is by far one of the best, if not the best restaurant around. Everything I’ve ever had is delicious! Service is excellent, staff is courteous, attentive & professional. These 2 brothers certainly know what they are doing. I especially like the fact it’s BYO which offsets the price as this is not an every day dining experience. Love it, have been many times and will continue going many more times.

The food itself is amazing BUT awe ordered wrong . It does come with a lot of sauces and maybe too Over the top . Great server . We will go back as we want to really try it again
